i just order a 2024 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE i can't wait to get it :) Great video.
Great car! Thanks for watching!
One drawback about this vehicle is the electronic parking brake. If your battery dies, you won't be able to engage the parking brake.
I'm wondering if there is a solution to this. I haven't looked into that, but there are a LOT of cars that now come equipped with electronic parking brakes. I feel like there is a solution. There must be a solution to release it, at least.
Turn off the auto lock mode
@@PeterLoweOneI think this is an invalid worry. When the vehicle trying to engage parking brake, I assume you just finished your trip. If you have a dying battery when you are done driving, there’s a lot more than parking brake to worry about, long before you reaching your destination.
Do you actually drive cars?
Nice car, just not a fan of CVT ~ maybe biased by the old DAF/Volvo in the 1970s. They just seem to over-rev noisily. I just like to be able to feel the steps, otherwise it doesn't seem right somehow.
I will say that Toyota has had some pretty reliable CVT's over the years, especially in their hybrids. I like this car with the Manual Transmission, but if you equip it like that, you can't add on some of the other features.
Its actually very enjoyable and smooth ride
It’s not CVT, it’s an e-CTV, a completely different transmission.
100% awesome 👍🏾
Love these cars but I find them way over priced for what they are!
I think there's value here. Cars are expensive now, and a lot of the price of this vehicle is in the loads of safety equipment that you don't see when you're just looking at the car.
Ya I get that for sure but the Kia’s are the same with all the safety features but are less money….not even an AWD….love all your reviews Peter! 😊
I purchased a 23 KIA Forte LXS instead of this. I saved a few thousand but Forte is four star safety while the Corolla is five. The Corolla has advanced cruise control, which is really nice. The Corolla also has 10 airbags instead of six. Plus, Corolla has LED headlights which are significantly better than halogen.
I like it however I can’t get past the sense that it’s a tiny car. The sedan looks more normal.
Can the driver turn off all of this "forward looking technology"? I prefer to control the car myself. Can I just get a basic car?? I don't want to be coddled like a 3 year old.
Great video.
I never liked the small and hard to reach tray in front of the shifter. KIA makes a very sizeable and easy to reach tray. This was more important to me than I ever thought it would be.
Yeah, it's funny the little things that we get used to that then become necessities! Thanks for watching!
Loudest car interior I've ever owned. Couldn't take it in Canadian winters. Junk.
Bought a VW and I'll gladly pay the higher maintenance costs.
Hi
I hate the " too many SAFETY FEATURES " Thing. That's for dumb people that don't know how to drive in real life.
Just bought a 2lt hybrid hatchback Corolla. It is a terrific car. It's a pleasure to drive.
Please buy one for me 😊
This is so well explained. Thank you!! I am a videographer and was/am torn between a hybrid sedan or the hatchback (Corolla),.... this has me leaning towards the hatchback.
The hatchback will give you easily accessible room with rear seats that food down, but the sedan will never put your expensive gear under a window so from a theft perspective, that might have value too.
I have the 22 hatch six speed manual se. My only complaint is the car sits so low you have to be careful parking away from curbs
As it will bottom out
I have the touring sport station wagen of this model
For some reason I like this rims better than the current one
Please buy one for me 😊0:26
I like your style
..........I don't remember if he mentioned he was reviewing the Corolla SE or the XSE model here but one thing I was specifically looking for when I bought my Corolla Hatchback was that it had the cross traffic sensor in it and the SE does NOT have that as part of Toyota's Safety Sense, so when he's mentioning it here he's referring to the XSE model. My loss is your gain, just make sure that if you want this feature you'll have to buy the XSE because it does NOT come on the SE model. I've always been a Toyota fan but you dropped the ball on this one, it SHOULD come on BOTH models. I was majorly disappointed when I found this out after purchasing it. I should have made sure BEFORE signing on the dotted line :(
SE with Premium package has BSM and Cross Traffic Alert.
Very few SE’s spec’d that way from my research
I just bought mine today loved it mine is gray n black roof
The loop in the tonneau cover is to hold up the cargo floor.
I just bought this exact car, a 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE. I noticed there is no spare tire. I thought only the hybrid had no spare...
I miss understand the assignment and bought a civic...now my steering doesnt work...
Lol jk, I have a hatchback xse.
Best reviews out there! Very well done. Glad you are back! Good luck!
Thanks for watching!!
Nice review. Here in 2024 I do like the Corolla Hatchbacks that are offered. I agree. A very nice vehicle. Very well put together.
Total toyota add...I find these so called safety features extremely annoying. Especially that forward camera. It can't discern what is or what it is doing. Consider if you turn it off and have an accident. You could then have increased your personal liability.
Haha! I used to be known for working for a brand that wasn't Toyota. I've even worked with that other manufacturer in Canada and the U.S. so it's interesting that you think this is a Toyota ad. I'm a fan of the car. I happen to like the safety features. I call it like I see it. No problem if you see things differently though.

Nice!!
Any particular suggestions for after market rails?
Thule or Yakima are my go to brands. They're more expensive, but they're excellent. I assume that if you're securing something to your roof, that it also has some value, and a poor rack makes me nervous as to whether or not it will keep my expensive gear in place at highway speeds on a long trip. Thule and Yakima have a wide variety of accessories to hold just about anything securely, and they have systems that will hold just about any modern car securely as well.
