Yes it's quite common for these guitars to need them, but no visuals to show how they actually do it...

    Hi There,
No, that's not normal, it sounds like your cone is fatigued.
You might want to replace that cone w a new Hot Rod cone they are now making. Better sounding cone and it'll solve your sagging issue. It shouldn't be doing that. I sell them of course! Best, Len

Im curious, do you just undo the glue joint under the fretboard and then the neck slides out? I'm used to flat top acoustics with a dovetail joint that lifts up and out of the body. I hope you don't mind my asking, someone brought a National Resonator into my shop the other day and I've been trying to figure out how to take the neck out, this video has been the best thing I've found so far. Thanks!

'At last I finally found you'...I can see that you deal with Nationals, alas out of my economic league. However I just bought a used Regal RC-51. I knew it wasn't going to be a high end model, but for just south of $800, I would have thought the innards would have been slightly better quality. The neck extension stock looks like it was just split vs sawn, very uneven. I'm about to replace the tricone bridge insert, but I'm afraid that the action is going to be more like a square neck than a round neck. I hope this isn't a lost cause.

I have a recording king 998 that I’ve slowly been modifying first with a national cone and biscuit bridge. Now I’m looking to get a neck swapped for a slotted headstock, but am having trouble finding much info on it being done.

    Do you only do National's?
I have a Republic Resolian (parlor shaped reso) and it fell over one day due to playing kitty's, it fell over flat face down and it was repaird by a local (jazzguitar) Luthier but never played as good as it once did. Action is high and if you look at the neck-heel and top of the body you can see the neck raised up from where it originaly was. It's only about 3-4 millimeter's but you realy notice the difference while playing so i hope you can help.
    Cheers Frans

I have a 1928 Triolian guitar with the Bakelite neck. still plays, but not a minty git box, lots of character.
