I am sooooo looking forward to hearing about your experience with Raaland! I live in a neighbouring country (Denmark) and been adoring his boots for a long time. Haven't been able to find any commenting on them yet (maybe I'm not in the right forums), so really looking forward to it.
Obviously agree on the design perfection of the Clinch. Surprised Zerrows is missing from your list. Hope to have a type one from them next year. Also have a pair of Raland engineers on order 👊🏻
If you like the Attractions style but not the over-easy teacore, the lot 269 in steerhide is just awesome in design and quality. I’m very happy to have chosen those over the lot444👍😎
Watching your content for awhile, I knew who the top 5 would be, i only got the top 3 of those 5 in the wrong order. But like you said, those could be interchangeable. I have a pair of Unsungs coming to me first half of '25. Can't wait. Visited their shop last year, some of the coolest guys you will meet.
I have the real McCoy's. I was in the same boat as you, I didn't like chunkier engineers much either but I saw photos over and over and came around. I really like their shape and they work very well in certain outfits.
Double R’s are basically 1000 for a thin cow hide. Jake has engineers with Maryam horse butt he bought for less than 750$. And I don’t think the style/last of the RRL is what jake usually goes for. Only reasons I could think of. Because technically they’re still under 1000 and I’m sure they’re still decent. This video is top 10 best engineers Guess they don’t make the cut.😂
I bought some black Allen Edmonds engineers for like $250. They’re actually nicely made, just some weird aspects about them and they’re not perfect but from $600 to $250 made well in USA pretty good.
Yeah, same. Those things discounted rather quickly after they first came out with them. A lot of people don’t like zips, so AE has to get rid of their stock. At this time of my comment, you can’t return them. I actually don’t mind zips; they’re great for traveling. Plus I’m middle aged…I’m beginning to want things simpler. And zips are easier to get into. They’re not the best looking, but they’ll work.
sweet : ). this is some of my favorite content you do,, i was just asking ppls opinions on FB yesterday about favorite engineers.. IMO,, though there's many i haven't experienced, I think the top essential brands/models are : Role Club Clinch Zerrows Mr. Lou Julians Lofgrens you have me interested in the McCoys now,, and Unsung.. I was leaning toward Briselblack or Renav the other month,, would love something Whiskey Shinki Shell thanks Jake xo
If there's any boot to get made to measure, it's engineers or any non-lace up boot. Not the case with Almost Vintage Style but it drives me crazy when people buy off-the-shgelf pull-on boots from places where custom fit is available and then complain about the fit. I saw a video where a guy bought Role Clubs, admitted he disregarded Brian's advice about fit, found the boots didb't fit and wondered if Brian would take them back. Huh? When I ordered my RC Engineers, I took a casting of my feet and sent them to Brian. Might sound crazy but when you're spending almost $3,000 it just seemed prudent. My Role Clubs are exquisitely crafted, total perfection in my eyes, and fit perfectly. They may be the most confortable shoes I own with the exception of my RC lace ups.
Id like a video about what makes and breaks an engineer. Im trying to find a boot with a "medium high" heel. Not so low that it feels like a service boot but not so high it feels like a logger
Have the Mister Lou, really have to broke them for a couples of months before they became comfortable and stable at the heels. Finish is to uneven at that price range. Next will be the Nick's Station Master.
Can't help but to notice all your boots have black scuffs on the heels, worse on the right boot. Just wondering whats giving you those markings? Boot jack?
Found a pair of Made in USA Frye engineer boots almost brand new on poshmark for 60 bucks and another almost new USA for 30 bucks. They are pretty good. I just can’t seem to find it within myself to spend 700 dollars or more on a pair of shoes or boots. These Frye boots are good enough for me, but your mileage may vary. Nice collection though. Just a side note, if you’re looking for a nice horsehide jacket made in the USA go to “Hillside Leathers” they make them to order or they’re ready to wear. I bought a horsehide cafe racer and it is really well made for 700 bucks, it came with a full zip out liner, it’s a full liner, sleeves and all. I’m wearing it more than my Schott 641HH.
I second @stevenkoppelkam643 vote for Nick's, not only their StationMaster, but also their Pullman. As an owner, I can credibly attest to their awesomeness. Would be great if you'd do a review. Dig your channel, man.
It sounds like you're emphasizing the importance of supporting products made in the USA. Here's a refined version of your message: Support American-Made Products: Economic Impact: Buying products made in the USA helps strengthen the local economy. Job Creation: Supporting domestic manufacturing creates more jobs for Americans. Quality Assurance: Products made in the USA often come with higher quality standards and accountability. Reduce Dependence on Imports: By prioritizing American-made goods, we can reduce reliance on foreign countries and promote self-sufficiency. Let's focus on supporting products and industries that are built in the USA!
I noticed that too. But I think it’s how his body is positioned. One side is sitting a little higher so the collar looks off. But the 1st thought I had was why tf is he wearing a leather jacket indoors?
Great list! Thoughts on zerrows boots? It seems like none of the big channels have really covered them.

Not a fan of teacoring myself. Might go with steerhide or bullhide in the future.
Im sure your not interested in buying a pair, but id love to hear your opinion on the Nick's station master.

Love the boot collection bruva lmao price is not a thing respect
It's maddening that you didn't have RRL on the list. They make a fantastic engineer boot - Handmade in the USA. Just under $1K.

unrelated but what t-shirt are you wearing? love the way they fit.

Comprehensive and very helpful. Thanks Jake 🥃
Curious if you have any thoughts on Zerrows.
What do you think about Bright Shoemakers ?
I love this content. Engineer Boots are great.

Probably from driving

Wait… Jake likes engineer boots!?! 😂😭💪💪💪
Great great great!! For me it feels like you have five number-one engineer boots. 🙂
Any thoughts on the Flat Head engineer boot?
Any thoughts on crux delux engineer boots?
Nice video dude! Great job!

Is it me or does the collar look weird ? On the jacket
