Exactly what Robert Bell commented.Where was the 'He was a creep'. Nothing whatsover about that in the video.Just to draw people in. like myself, unfortunately.
Roger Waters feuded with the band, stayed at separate hotels and took separate limousines from the rest of the band starting on the Animals Tour in 1977, spat on a fan, rejecting Richard Wright and David Gilmour’s music contributions, bullied Wright out of the band and then sued Gilmour for carrying on without him.
Richard Wright's musicianship is what gave Pink Floyd the sound to accompany Syd Barret's song writing on Piper at the Gates of Dawn. During the noodling/space rock period, Wright kept the band afloat while Waters was still learning to write meaningful songs. The band wouldn't have existed in 1973 to create Dark Side of the Moon if Wright hadn't gotten them there. I recognize that Waters eventually became the songwriter that defined Pink Floyd's best work, but it never would have happened if it weren't for Richard Wright. As much as I appreciate Roger Waters, he lacks humility, which is a character flaw, and the reason he found himself exiled from his own band.
I was in a pub in London a few years back, having a drink with Richard Wright, suddenly Rich went pale, when i looked up, Roger Waters had just walked in, he looked over to our table where we were drinking, and shouted out "Oi ... Wright, ... me and you, outside , now"!!!.. before I knew what was happening, they were at eachothers throats punching the heck out of each other.
@@JismIsm-en4kz Roger won it hands down, but to be fair to Richard, he got a few kicks in when Roger was on the floor, but you don't want to mess with Roger Waters when he's pissed.
Waters had one lead vocal song on each album until “Animals” then he got more dominant from that to “Final Cut”.. The only lead vocal he had on DSOtM was “Brain Damage/Eclipse” but most vocal was dueted with David.
Jeez, So would i, but i think that they would not stoop down to Waters level, especially when a man who has passed away cannot defend himself, a dignified silence can say so much ! !.
I met the guys in person in a college refectory in Farnborough England in February 1971 at the college rag week gig. My best mate at college Glyn had been to he same school, Frensham Heights, near Farnham and knew Nick Mason so we had an intro. This was a few months before the release of Dark Side. They were waiting to go on stage. Dave, Nick and Rick sat round with a group of us in the rag committee having a beer and a smoke. They were all ordinary down to earth guys and spoke about previous college gigs. Roger joined us but he was different to the rest of the band. There was something about him that made you feel awkward. To put it bluntly, when he spoke it was as if he was up his own "ars**ole" and highly opinionated . He gave the impression of being better than anyone else. Even all those years ago you could understand how he was the sort of person some people might find it difficult to get on with..
Rick may never have been Pink Floyd's head, but he was always its heart. He embodied a quiet strength and grace, and he never sought to draw attention to himself.
Funny thing is, with Richard Wright being paid as a “session musician” when The Wall went on tour, he was the only one who made money. The show was so expensive to mount , the band members all lost money. So there.
Oh you mean because they showed a picture with Syd in it at that time stamp. Yeah, that was a poor decision to show that picture there. It would have made more sense if they were talking about WYWH.
@@markgerrard383 Surely Syd Barrett was most responsible for Dark Side considering Waters used Syds idea to bring in a sax player and a female singer plus the clocks at start of Time is a rerecording of Syds Clockword Room at the end of Bike. Wow, that is TRULLY priceless! Richard a creep? Yes, it's best to attack someone who isn't here to defend himself! Ask other members of Pink Floyd Nick and David, to find out who the REAL creep was! Roger destroyed Pink Floyd out of jelaousy, specially towards David, he's too insecure and petty, and writing good songs doesn't change that!
Can’t stand Waters. Whilst all the other band members quietly get on with their lives as actual musicians, Waters thinks he has the answer to all the world’s problems. He should have gone into politics. Trump would have loved him. Their egos would have been a very close match. He never could actually sing, that’s why his stage shows are all theatrics, it detracts from the fact that those vocals are somewhat wanting.
A wise scientist once wrote that there are two kinds of genius: one is where, if you practised and studied long enough, you thought you could equal; the other is a magician, and you would have no hope of understanding how he wrought his magic. Rick Wright was of the latter kind. Rog, truly a kind of genius, drifted to fascism and authoritarian dominance. Rick, another kind of gentle genius altogether, was crushed and discarded. I value both their musical contributions, but Rick had the content of character that Rog never could.
It made sense to sack Wright and then re-employ him as a session musician on a wage of £200 pw which is tax deductible and indeed Wright was the only member who made money on the over elaborate Wall tour. I wouldn't be surprised if a tax advisor suggested this to them.
@geertvanderleest6362 one criticism of PF I have is they should have had a rhythm guitarist too although the keyboards filled in. They did bring in Snowy White for the Animals tour though. It's likely they didn't want to pay an extra musician in a career that could end anytime and they probably weren't completely financially secure.
On the tour where he was a hired gun, he was paid 125k. The tour was so expensive that it ended with the band in debt. Richard was the only one who walked away with money. Checkmate Mr Waters.
Inmy view the most appealing work that Pink Floyd did was when Gilmour and Wright collaborated in writing the material. Wright was a unique artist. By the way, I bought Wet Dream and it is a very good album.
As mentioned by Nick Mason in his book, Wright was blocked by contract to rejoin as member of Pink Floyd. Roger imposed it at the moment Wright was fired. It had overcomed only after Gilmour won the legal batle with Roger about Pink Floyd rights disput. So, due that, Wright only joined the Momentary Lapse of the Reason production as a hired misician.
Not sure what is going on here but waters should have been in therapy. Its easy to classify exteriors but he is troubled. Im not sure his major problem. Maybe the best band ever. His obsession with politics is kind of annoying. Sure he makes good points but in the end its not music. We dont know jack squat honestly. We can assume its this or that but who knows. Wright tied the sound together. Could it have been the drugs? What about women? That is possible yes. Wright had some serious issues with drugs ive heard. The wall is something else. Is waters the issue? Its very possible. Gilmour can be a bit of a new world order commie. I dont have any answers. Pink floyd is something else.
Like with the Beatles I am just glad Pink Floyd stayed together for as long as they did. I suspect the whole thing was a long way from being black and white with the good guy and the bad guy. It was highly complicated shades of grey - some shades admittedly darker than others. We should not expect highly talented musicians to be morally sound human beings. They are in the gutter with the rest of us. When we hear what they compose we can see the beautiful starry sky and not feel so much all the dirt and scum. I know this is in no sense a magic wand but I think the thing to do is just be very very thankful for the marvellous music they made together. Some people say they don't like the final cut. I think it is a good record. But when they come up with titles like "the gunners dream" perhaps the band should re-name themselves Pink Freud.

Exactly what Robert Bell commented.Where was the 'He was a creep'. Nothing whatsover about that in the video.Just to draw people in. like myself, unfortunately.
funny how the the other 3 members of pink floyd claim roger was a creep
I'd take issue with the term "songwriter", his major contributions were lyrics and tensions.
Rick was a very modest genius. Rest in Peace.
rick was a big part of pink floyd's sounds and arrangements
I was in a pub in London a few years back, having a drink with Richard Wright, suddenly Rich went pale, when i looked up, Roger Waters had just walked in, he looked over to our table where we were drinking, and shouted out "Oi ... Wright, ... me and you, outside , now"!!!.. before I knew what was happening, they were at eachothers throats punching the heck out of each other.
Seriously / Who won 'The Fight'?
Few years back? Wright died in 2008
@@JismIsm-en4kz Roger won it hands down, but to be fair to Richard, he got a few kicks in when Roger was on the floor, but you don't want to mess with Roger Waters when he's pissed.
@@PaulFormentos yeah, it was about 20 years ago, Richard wasn't looking for a punch up, but Roger cornered him.
Waters had one lead vocal song on each album until “Animals” then he got more dominant from that to “Final Cut”.. The only lead vocal he had on DSOtM was “Brain Damage/Eclipse” but most vocal was dueted with David.
And thank god for that…
@@scottschroeder4920amen brother
I support Waters politics BUT i do NOT believe Wright was a creep, it is known Waters was and is a Control Freak! No Rick Wright = NO Pink Floyd!
Why is Waters doing this? I would love to hear what Mason and Gilmour think about this?
Jeez, So would i, but i think that they would not stoop down to Waters level, especially when a man who has passed away cannot defend himself, a dignified silence can say so much ! !.
I think they both know that the best way to deal with the whiny knut is to just ignore him
Looks like the person who put this together wasn't even aware that Wright died 16 years ago...
Amazing! Thanks🎉
Best timeless song of PF will allways be and remain 'the great gig in the sky'....
Thanks to Clare Torry and of course RW...
Honestly it's truly amazing that Waters ended up far more mentally unstable than Syd ever was.
Water’s appointment with the men in white coats is long over due.
He did not!
David Gilmour wouldn't play Echoes ever again without Rick Wright. I think that says it all
Funny thing is, with Richard Wright being paid as a “session musician” when The Wall went on tour, he was the only one who made money. The show was so expensive to mount , the band members all lost money. So there.
The dead can't defend themselves.
Unless they're Vampires
ego is to blame Roger sounds like a toxic man
Non more toxic!
2.00 I never knew Syd played on Animals in 1977...this completely re-writes the book 😂
No he's not on there they just showed that picture with Syd in it But not sure he left years ago 🙂
He didn't. He was referring to Wright.
Oh you mean because they showed a picture with Syd in it at that time stamp. Yeah, that was a poor decision to show that picture there. It would have made more sense if they were talking about WYWH.
He did play on it with crayons later in is life.
Funny but I would rather have Richard Wright than Roger Waters and The final cut is not really a PF album and as such it is difficult to play.
No Pink Floyd without Roger..
He wrote
Meddle
DSOTM
WYWH
Animals
The Wall
The Final Cut
the rest were filler...basically
RW could be either Waters or Wright.. ?
waters is a egotistical bum.
@@markgerrard383 Surely Syd Barrett was most responsible for Dark Side considering Waters used Syds idea to bring in a sax player and a female singer plus the clocks at start of Time is a rerecording of Syds Clockword Room at the end of Bike.
Waters even copied the naked woman on Syds first solo album for his own first solo record.
@@markgerrard383I don't consider Comfortably Numb and High Hopes filler. Just 2 examples.
It took awhile for Dave to truly move on without Him
It wasn't just Dave Roger missed musically
He had a great voice too.
Great harmonies with David.
"He was a creep???" while he did not say it, he was one himself 😂
roger waters is the biggest creep going he hated the rest of the band due to the fame they got with there personalities but roger does not have one .
For Roger, the one who wrote the lyrics and the chord progression was the one who had made the song, but that is not true at all.
@yesman2755 I don't think Trump condones antisemitism. Waters makes excuses for terrorists.
Sorry when does Roger open up about Rick? and when does Roger call Rick a creep? at what point in this video does any of that happen?
Roger takes a lot of heat for opposing the current genocide and Lebensraum.
Team Wright
Richard Wright was an absolute golden soul!
Roger is a great songwriter/musician... but not such a great human.
Wright was back as a full member on The Division Bell and fully reinstated as a member voting on Pink Floyd back catalog releases.
wright's song "remember a day" is among my favorite pf songs.
I love the final cut!🙎
I hate it.
I love it
Me too. Very underrated album.
Roger isn't bad mouthing Rick now he's dead, is he? That would be well dirty. Who will it be next? Syd?
Surprised waters didn't blame the Jews.
It made sense to sack Wright and then re-employ him as a session musician on a wage of £200 pw which is tax deductible and indeed Wright was the only member who made money on the over elaborate Wall tour. I wouldn't be surprised if a tax advisor suggested this to them.
Indeed, he had been the only one earnning some money during that tour ! 😉
Waters was a workaholic, Wright was a lazy bone addict.
Bone addict ??
Final Cut of what : decency ???
Without Jon Carin a lot of Pink Floyd music could not be played live.
Cool guy
People fall out with each other. That's just how life is.
@@richardrickford3028 I do like a lot of final cut, but again it's just Wodges ramblings about the life he thought his father had, and the army taking him away. The Wall is pretty much the same, but with the meltdown of a rock star thrown in 🙃
