Think you're all being too harsh on Stu (and the others). I've lived through and loved the CCR years but of course at my age could not care of the politics. I know it was John's show and arguably 99.9% the reason for their success. But Stu is only stating the facts as it transpired. And being in such a band situation would be tough on most anyone. I wouldn't judge that so harshly. If the other 3 did unfairly hurt John's ownership of his songs as I've heard it through the years - that's another story. But here he is only stating what happened to cause the bands dissolution, nothin more. For the record, John Fogerty - his music, his enduring energy makes him one of my personal heros.

Yes he was Son, for a while he surely did do that.

Such lack of creativity and vision his band had. John Fogerty did all the heavy lifting because he was the only one who could. The rest of the band was mediocre and minimalistic at best. They could never stand without John. If you look at The Doors, Ray Manzarek was the band leader, Jim Morrison was a great frontman, and Robbie Krieger provided good guitar licks, and John Densmore was versatile enough to do anything.

We all knew Waters has a dangerous personality and know this background confirms it with historical insider context.

John's "demands" are what took them to the top. As soon as the other members forced their proven sub par input, (for no other reason than jealousy) it was over except for the hell they threw at John for years after. I was in a band that opened a couple of shows for Fogerty and he was as kind and humble as he could be. He was a one man Beatles and could have done it with other band members just as well or better.

Having been around when it happened, I find it amazing how it is reflected on 50 years later. Credit to the author for their dialogue. Perhaps the most amazing thing about Woodstock is how it really was the "PEAK" of that movement. The Beatles would release their final work just two weeks later. It was really the final moments of a generation bounded together by its youth and idealism just before growing up an moving into mid life and family. It's real legacy ---- is it was the very peak or Zenith of the baby boomers last party before going into mid life. It was a great time to be under 30 and alive. ]

Just one of those bands/artists that had brilliance ,yet could not stay together for some reason & another .Some, I guess are just meant to go solo ..or have a band that they are the primary (boss/leader ) of the band ..Deep purple ,CSNY ,Pink Floyd all come to mind . many more i forgot, i am sure . JF was no doubt a massive part of the original CCR band & sound ,that part is undeniable .

i really like ccr and john fogarty. their music over the span of a lifetime has been beautiful and strong! you know that few people are perfect and so it is with life. i think that johns quest for that perfection was stifling the other members for sure and out of that grew resentment and revenge. its always easy to pass certain judgments from the comfort and safety of our historical advantage. absolute power corrupts absolutely. my best to all, always😊😊😊😊😊😊

ok groups like abba had catchy tunes for a moment in time, but 5 years later many of those groups are laughed at by young people.groups like blonde 30 years later young people still respect the music.

Much is said about David Gilmour's incredible guitar playing, and for good reason, but I think his vocals are just as good and just as much an integral part of the Pink Floyd sound. Songs that Gilmour and Wright shared vocals on (like "Echoes") are some of my personal favorites. Never cared much for Roger's singing.
