In his book "Inner Game of Outdoor Photography" he already talks about using Photoshop for fixing or adjusting colors, digital cropping, digital sharpening of the edges and noise(grain) reduction in areas with continuous color such as sky with software, digital enlargements being better than optical enlargements.
I visited the Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop once and saw the enlarged prints of Rainbow Over the Portola Palace. They had two large prints on display in a vault. One was an optical print and the other was a digital print. I was amazed at how sharp they both were for such a large print. They were larger than 24 x 36. I really couldn't tell which one was which until Barbara told me.
Thank you for uploading this.
God bless him
however, he lived in the analog era, and he is a pioneer of the digital era too.
Galen would’ve loved the way digital has increased the possibilities
