26:10 Excellent video! Not only were the questions probing, the answers provided by Apphia and Nick were thoughtfully expansive and articulate. I especially liked her comment about black folks thinking that we should accept things in life that are "good enough." What the world sometimes overlooks is how more difficult the struggle in life is when the burden of racism is factored into nearly every aspect of living. Struggling to live and feel good about yourself is a challenge when so little is expected of you. So, getting an education and a decent job is often viewed as being "good enough." You dare not dream much beyond basic survival as things beyond that can be viewed as unattainable as we are conditioned to accept the proverbial "table scraps" of society. The fact that Nick insisted that she be herself and dream big is a huge affirmation, just as important as her opening his eyes to a world of greater possibilities and experiences. How refreshing it was to see two people in love understand each other deeply and reflect such beauty towards each other.
@willyoumarrymeshow Thank you, Milton, for your kind words! I loved this posting as it resonated with me on many levels. One additional thought, I just remember growing up in New Jersey in a predominantly black school district. My 5th grade homeroom teacher who happened to be a white woman asked us what we wanted to be when we grow up. One kid responded that he wanted to be president of the U.S.. The teacher smiled but scoffed and admonished him to be "realistic. " Her comment was met by stone -cold silence by the class. Obviously, this was a considerable time before Barack Obama had the audacity to dream of attaining such lofty heights. That experience was a bit jarring, and was scarring to many of us. Some in the class went on to sttend college and became professionals and rejected the notion of accepting society's "table scraps" and forged our hopeful destinies. Unfortunately, some did not fare as well. However, I still look back at that experience as one of many defining moments in my life. Your post seemed so hopeful. Thank you again!!
Beautifully said I pray that this love will continue in the manner God has graced the two of you with. Your story is very powerful and moving. 💕we all believe in LOVE!!!
While he may really love her, his reason for wanting to marry her seems to center around what “she” can do for him! But, if that works for them, c’est la vie!
I think it's beautiful how she was able to show him a whole new life perspective ❤ you never know what mindstate he was in before meeting her, just goes to show how the universe unites people for different reasons!
@alleykatt110 I think when he says open up the world, he means experiences and thoughts and behaviors. I don't think there's anything wrong with marrying someone who challenges you and shows you a different perspective. I doubt that's the only reason he married her.
NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT NEITHER..... I AINT MARRY NOBODY UNTILL I SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR ME TOO, LOVE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP A MARRIAGE , BOTH OF YOU NEED TO BRING SOMETHING TO THE TABLE...SIS GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. LOVE ALONE DOES NOT KEEP A RELATIONSHIP. HOW DO YOU MEASURE WHO IS THE BETTER PARTNER FOR YOU? IS BY HOW THE BEST SUITOR BRINGS SOMETHING EXTRA TO YOUR LIFE...HOW THEY ADD TO YOUR LIFE AND VICE VERSA FOR THE OTHER PARTNER TOO...ITS TWO PEOPLE ADDING SOMETHING TO EACH OTHERS LIVES
@@maguiedossantos2925 First off, I’m NOT your sis! Second, what was he bringing to the table? I don’t recall anything being mentioned about that! Maybe that’s why you’re NOT married! And using the phrase “I ain’t marry nobody” says it all!
I’m sorry as an African American woman there is nothing wrong with what he said as a white man. That could have been said by anyone. It was beautiful. When you meet someone that opens the whole world to you it’s amazing. The hard part is letting go of the restraints that would make you not except someone who loves for you in spite of your differences.
I hope they work out for their own sakes. I must say that there are some red flags that I have seen though: Bride seems conceited with too much man energy which the air force background may explain. The groom seems a bit passive and seems to shirk in the relationship. She will run over him like a bulldozer.
This was a very good video. I love the way they both told the story from their own perspective.
Me too ❤❤

This was just beautifully done. Thanks for sharing. Love you both....I wish and pray for long, loving, greater years together....forever!
