    Ok Pete, now for the slow guys. When you put this unit outside on your pole and ran the cable back into your home...what did you plug it into? I am assuming you ran an ethernet cable back into your house?
    Or, was that just a power cord and you are running from WiFi because I did see that :through walls" setting?

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад +1

      Yes, the cable comes back into my house and plugs into a special adapter that takes in an ethernet connector from my network and puts out the another ethernet cable with Power over Ethernet. It is like a data pass-through but adds power to your ethernet cable. Think of it as an ethernet modem on the roof.

    I think 5G is a great way to get internet, but find the price of the rougher a bit expensive at the moment.
    I can get EE 5G but only get about 20 meg, due to a weak signal on my phone, and do not want to spend a fortune on antennas and stuff, and the same with Three. Vodafone and O2 share a mast just a few 100 meters from me, but is a low-spec 4G mast that gives me a reliable 25Meg connection and an inexpensive 4G router works fine, which I've connected to a WiFi extender for 5GHz WiFi. As well this way I can leave 4G router in a window for the best mobile signal, and the WiFi extender can be located in a central location of the flat for WiFi coverage of flat. Have used an ethernet cable for WiFi extender.
    Once you've found the best mobile network have a look to see if there is any cheaper resellers. For me, Lebara was the best deal on the Vodafone network.

    Used your link to try this out. Thank you!! Can you clarify the Dual Sim Cards? Does this mean I'd have a backup? Say, AT&T as primary and T-Mobile as backup. Or does this mean use same provider, but have faster internet with two sims? Also, does it come with a POE?

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад +2

      Great. I think you will like it. I will ask about aggregation of the dual SIM but my thought was as a backup. It could be a different account. I had my TMHI and my T-Mobile SIM in there at the same time. The APN settings were different, so swapping required an extra step. Yes, it does come with the POE box but you will need to supply the ethernet cable.

    I really wanted to like this device. When I first got it, it showed great promise with very fast speed and stability, but unfortunately I could not get the TTL settings to work correctly with a TMO Business Tablet SIM and it all went downhill after I burned through my hotspot data. I was able to get this sim to work in any other device, but not this one. I hope they can fix this issue in future firmwares.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад

      This has TTL setting but I am surprised to hear that you are still successful with that trick. There is nothing magic about TTL, it is just a packet setting that some providers were using to identify phone traffic. TMobile has unlimited plans at $40/mo (with autopay, $30 with qualifying phone plan), I would not mess with that old cat and mouse game. This is pretty good. ruclips.net/video/HU7TQ97cv9s/видео.html Here is a video I posted just today.

    I purchased this device and so far, I am happy with both the device and their support. Contacting them directly, they provided an updated firmware that added a couple of features, Hardware NAT being one of them and the ability to back up your configuration.
    What I am having trouble with is Cell Locking. On the mobile information screen, they show the PCID and the ARFCN in what appears to be HEX. But on the cell locking screen, they want decimal values. I tried converting the values to decimal, and it doesn't lock. I also noticed that the values don't match what Cell mapper shows for the PCID and ARFCN for the towers in my area. I have tried both and none would lock.
    Have you tested cell locking and figured out the right way to get the correct values to use? Unfortunately, our phones are on AT&T and don't support 5G, so this is the only device I have to see what is available in my area.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад

      Getting cell tower information to agree from application to applications is a problem. I am not sure if its a decimal to Hex issue but that seem like a good place to start and see if they lineup. Can you get that tower information from the device itself?

    Peter, 6 months ago I bought the Yeacomm 5G ODU unit. 2 months ago I started getting dropouts. I would lose my internet for a few minutes at a time. I assumed it was the sim so I asked for a new one. Being winter here in Chicago I didn't want to climb on a ladder to install the sim so I put it into the T-Mobile modem until better weather. Today I was up on the roof installing the new(er) sim and have the problem again. It's not the sim, it's the Yeacomm unit. Is anybody else having this problem? ( after all, this thing is expensive )

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  8 месяцев назад

      No, this is the first that I am hearing of any dropouts. Mine has been running 24/7 but I know that Chicago is a cold climate. Did you contact Yeacomm support? They have been very responsive to me and seem very anxious to help customers. Login and check your Firmware version, because they will likely ask. Also check and see if there is a new version of FW. How do you have it configured... NSA or SA? Have you tried swapping just to see if stability improves.

      @@PeterC408 Exactly my theory, especially considering the lawsuit involving Verizon and our ability to swap our sim into any device.
      To give a little bit more clarification of the issue, when I spoke to the representative I had very little faith that they had any knowledge of the issue.
      They told me that because it wasn't an approved and authorized device that it's IMEI is automatically going to be rejected. And of course when I mentioned that Federal lawsuit involving Verizon gave us the right to swap our Sim to a compatible working device, they suddenly didn't want to speak to me about the matter because I had said "lawsuit".
      It was a very unproductive waste of an hour and eighteen minutes. That's why I'm currently in the search for individuals like yourself that have the knowledge and experience which is hugely appreciated.

On my phone, I had a 2GB Unlimited plan but then upgraded to 5GB Unlimited. Why the data limit if it is unlimited? You get full speed 4G/5G speed until you hit the number, then it drops down to 3G speeds.... still technically unlimited, just unusable too. Hopefully T-Mobile will add n77 soon since some structures can destroy 2.4 performance but at the same time have no effect on 3.7. The reverse is also true since some warehouse stores destroys Verizon performance almost completely and yet 2.4 will give you insane speed and 0 packet loss. If I did get T-Mobile after they pop their 3.7 and 3.45 up I would have to get a gateway with band select and choose 3.7 and 3.45 and see how well both bands work since n71 is too horrible in my experience on the network pass.

Hope that helps. I just got new firmware for the NR610 and will be checking for improvements in IPV6 and 5GSA support. Check out my roundup where this product did pretty well when you consider its competition. ruclips.net/video/BMgU5nzO4F4/видео.html

    Peter, Is this going to solve my "high congestion" problem? Watching the installation video I noticed that they didn't hook up power.??? So, you hook up a cat6 cable to this and run it into the house to your router? Do you have to connect a usb C cable to this as well?

    • @PeterC408

      No, if you have high congestion your priority does not change but perhaps you can add non standard bands like n66, n25, n48 and get on a less conjested frequency... really you're competing with phones.

    Hey, Peter! Is this a simple plug-and-play? You just pull your SIM card out of the T-mobile gateway and install it in the Yeacomm gateway?

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад +1

      Yes, and no... You need to change your IMEI to match your gateway, you need to change the APN (network) to match the home network (fbb.home) and I also changed my gateway to match the TMobile gateway (192.168.12.1). After doing all that, it works just fine.

      Hi Bill, thank you for the support. I really like this one for you because using the Power Over Ethernet you can really run this solution further (higher) than you could with an antenna. With an antenna your looking at 30-50ft and the cable is expensive. This allows you to put the radio outside, up high and even over to a clearing if at all possible.

      They are a reseller of Wireless Service. They have a Blue plan and a Pink plan. It's AT&T and T-Mobile. I have heard that their support was hard to get a hold of during the pandemic, but that was true for many companies. This recommendation would be getting a card without their hardware. Would that solve your objection or is there a deeper issue? IMEI changes are not on the standard firmware but I suspect there is a way to do it. I will take a closer look.

    I know when you use 5 GHz wifi you will increase your speed big-time but 2.4GHz you get up to 300 download The downside about this product there no build in 5GHz wifi

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  9 месяцев назад

      It is best to think of this unit as an outdoor modem. The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi will be emanating from outdoors so it is not to cover you home or office, but just for simple setup and maintenance. I actually use mine as an outdoor network, totally separate from my home network. This way when I am in the backyard, I am still on the internet. You are right that 5GHz is faster than 2.4GHz but did you know that this is not always true? 2.4GHz travels farther and doesn't degrade as quickly with distance. My daughter's room used to be at the edge of our WiFi coverage and she got better speeds with 2.4GHz. It makes sense. Now we have a Orbi Mesh router and I get 300Mbps in the furthest bathroom with the door closed. Thanks for your response.
