    • @PeterC408

      No, this is the reason that my community of people is suffering from too much regulation and controls from Telco providers. Stop trying to game the system - it is hurting honest people that are happy to pay $50/mo for quality, unlimited internet. On my channel, we are trying to work within that framework and make it do as much as possible. The only reason that phones are granted "unlimited data" is that no one is going to download 1TB a month on their phone. Repeatedly posting this question on my site will result in getting you banned from posting. Please don't.

      The problem with jumping ahead to the latest greatest chipset is finding a responsible design. FCC certification takes 6 months all by itself. Not to mention PTCRB and the myriad of other certification that are required. Grabbing the latest chip is going to stick you will project boxes that while entertaining because they are a glimpse at the future, I want products that I can rely upon day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year.

      @@PeterC408 Thank you agin, it was a huge help to find you videos about T-Mobile home internet and antennas.
      I watch many of them but probably not all, one lesson I get, that the order of connecting Athena cables is very important.
      Unfortunately my Proxicast 7-in-1 Vehicle Antenna doesn't have any marking on its 4 cellular cables, and I am wondering if you could share some technic which could speed up right connection rather to have brut force testing off all possible permutation to connect (although it just 24 off them :-(, I think).
      Initially I was hope to use T-mobile home SIM to use in GL-X3000 router fro GL.iNET. But it has problem to register SIM in the network, and was I thinking I just hook it up in my KVD21 as you described, but now I see they have new model G4AR and I hope to get an exchange to it.

      Hey! I got a message back from Proxicast. They said that, "You are correct about the order of 4x4 leads not mattering when the omni-directional antenna elements are linearly polarized vs cross/slant polarized on directional antennas." So plug them in and look beyond just the bars. He also said that installing on an actual metal vehicle would help the antenna reception dramatically and I did not do that. Thanks for the question and the support.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  Год назад +3

      There is no "just" with networking. I had to learn to modify the IMEI and APN on each of these units to match the values shared by TMobile, then it works. If you write to these manufactures they will tell you how to change this value... that's why it is important to chose the manufacturer carefully. You need to get one that will understand your intent and work with you. For some reason, you can't share how to change the IMEI on YT because it goes to the whole earth and it may be illegal in some places. Programming is not a crime. I am still paying full price for the unlimited service. I am not trying to get away with anything short of a better signal. It does have it's own 2.4GHz Wi-Fi which is perfect for the backyard but I do not use it. I treat it like a modem and use my own Mesh router inside the house.

      @@PeterC408 Thanks Pete. This is for a trailer in a remote location. When I place the T-Mobile tower inside it struggles with the upload speeds and latency. But if I place it outside in an opening to where I know the towers are, wow what a difference. But off course the tower cannot be used outdoors. So I am between getting he 4X4 mimo antenna or this. That is why I was asking. I don't need the mesh because it is for a trailer and the WIFI coverage from the tower itself is actually great. And setting this up seems simpler than the MiMo. Decisions decisions. But not having a 5 Ghz channel on the WIFI side. Hmm. OK. Thanks Pete.

      First, let's see where you stand with your signal and bands. Take a look at this one ruclips.net/video/4E7ogM9AVSY/видео.html you can download the app and see which bands you are getting and how many. You should be getting and LTE and 5G band. Which ones? What values do you get for RSRP, RSRQ and SiNR? The good news is that you are getting something. Perhaps moving the unit within your home would help (maybe dramatically). If moving it does not help, you can get an antenna outside by modifying the Nokia unit and adding external antennas or getting another gateway such as the Yeacomm unit shown in this video. You SIM card can be successfully transitioned into that unit and made to work. That could make it significantly faster and perhaps solve all of your problems.... but then again, so may moving it to another part of your home or office.

    in rural area and we use Starlink which work pretty good but sometimes signal drops. What would be a good fail safe to add to this to prevent drops during live streaming? Any thoughts? I was looking at Mrnet and it looks good but $$ . Would invisigig be good? How would I go about finding best solution for my area? Should I check cell towers?

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  6 месяцев назад

      My guess, is that you are trying to stream services - meaning serve data. Am I right? If this is the case, you are not really worried about download bandwidth but upload bandwidth. Since most internet users are consuming content (data) instead of creating content, the bands are setup to favor download speeds. Using a product like Invisa-Gig you can craft your signal, meaning chose to focus your antenna to get bands that are more suitable for upload data. You can even craft several 4G bands together.
      Can you get cellphone coverage from any carrier? What bands are available? There are a ton of outdoor antenna solutions but some work better for different frequencies. If you are trying to get a 600Mhz XR band, you want a different antenna than if you are trying to get a UC band at 2.5 - 3.7GHz.
      I tried Starlink in the middle of a 1000000 acre national park that had recently been ravaged by wildfire. I got 25Mbps down and 5Mbps up, not bad and definitely a life saver but 5Mbps up is not going to be enough to host Worship Services over. If you let me know what is available, I can try to help. God speed.

    Can the cheetah connect to two lte bands or two 5g bands or no

    • @srcrewchief89
      @srcrewchief89 Год назад

      I've had the Chester Cheetah for a few months now(purchased directly from Chester Repair). It uses the Quectel RM520N-GL modem which can aggregate up to 5 bands. This is partially dependent on your carrier and the local tower configuations and your network settings on router. I'm using a TMHI account and when I set the Network to Auto and 5G to NSA I normally get 3 LTE bands (2/66/66) and 1 5G(71). This configuration has slightly slower downloads for me averaging 150, but upload is faster averaging 50. With both set to auto I get 2 5G SA bands (25/25) and downloads average 195 but upload drops to around 20. I'm rural and the local area is moderately sparse so the available bandwidth is not as robust as I'd like. Using a pair of log periodic antenna's a 2x2 panel I'm getting almost identical signal numbers as Peter showed in the video.

      I have heard that it can but it doesn't report it.. That seems odd. Perhaps they need to work on it. I was expecting more UpLink from 2 bands of SA, but this has been a very reliable service and router.

      The trick with using TMHI is that we have to be able to adjust the IMEI. To some manufacturers, this is a well guarded secret, but changing it is necessary to work with TMHI. Unless you can change that value, it won't work.
