    Thank you for the video. I sprayed my front turn signals so dark back when I didn’t have turn signals and I recently got them and my headlights working again, now I can actually see them. Thank you for this vid 🤙🏼

    So I tried it and it worked, then I tried it with a much cheaper paint (wal mart) brand and it also worked. My bet is that the solvent in the paint breaks down the paint and allows ot to be wiped away.
    Probably could accomplish this with a much cheaper solvent like acetone...

    I regret tinting my lights 😭 it looks horrible and its extremely too dark. I just wanted a bit of a smoke color

      If you aren’t going to do a thicker layer I’d recommend using a tint film. Otherwise with a thing layer it will likely look splotchy

      That makes it a bit more complicated but I would imagine some acetone would help remove the clear coat so you could get to the VHT but at the same time you need to be very careful of your cars paint as well as the actual headlight lens. I recommend just a little bit on a rag and take your time.

    Would this process work if you have VHT high Temp satin clear on over it?

      It should, if it doesn’t work then use some odorless mineral spirits to remove the clear coat.

      I have done this on lights after up to 6 months. If it does not work for you I would try a paint thinner like mineral spirits.

      That’s not the point of this video. But simply some people decide to use it since they would rather not wrap something. And I only did the light to remove it for the video to be informative to anyone else that may need help removing it.

      It’s the paint thinner that keeps it a liquid in the bottle. Really any paint thinner would work, but assuming you still have left over VHT it would be free to just use that if you don’t have a paint thinner

    So..we spray a rag with more VHT niteshade, and it'll rub off what's already applied ?

      @HaydenCroix After ruining my taillights the first time, this actually worked and I was insanely shocked. 😆
      Worked really well, was able to remove it all and wipe them down with alcohol and start fresh, thanks a ton for this video.

      @@inhanddeliveriesservices4490 it is because of the paint thinner in the can keeping it a in liquid form. You could also use a paint cleaner if you wanted but considering you likely have left over VHT this is a good way to clean them.

      If you clear coated over the the VHT use some odorless mineral spirits first to remove some of the layers.

      If you don't go too dark most will still pass you, or at least here in NC they will.

    How long can you leave the nightshade on before this won't work? I have a section of my taillights tinted and want to get it off, but I don't want to mess it up and ruin the taillights.

      @@HaydenCroix thanks heaps. I tried doing it lightly on a indicator but the nightshade didn't come off. Maybe I need to spray more onto the rag before I wipe it. Just too worried about smudging nightshade everywhere!

      It will just take some more elbow grease I imagine. I have done it after about 2 years, though my car was garage parked

      You can use this on the cars paint as well but I would recommend trying a clay bar first and if that does not work then use this method.

    Lol, you just failed to realise the simple thing why it removes it😆 It is a solvent that it contains. You could simply try ethanol or use butane to do exactly the same thing.
