Great video Richie and Ryan, Ryan seems to know his HPI stuff! Bear in mind, in addition to hitting a boulder in the snow at 40+mph, it was cold, and we all know that cold temps makes plastic more brittle!

Just a note, but better lighting directly above/from behind will drastically improve the video quality. Great review
I had an old rs4 rally n it had a cover with 2heads a driver and spotter or whatever and it velcroed to chassis to keep stuff out
Hi, I love this car. I own 2 wr8 Ford Fiesta and bought a Micro WR8 HPI too. Well, this is an excellent HPI product. I have many RC cars but just few of them I would buy twice or buy 2 same cars. WR8 is that car for sure. Not for kids/beginners. I did a speed test with 17T pinion. 105km/h.

Thanx for the great enthusiastic review. I've been looking at this car alot but you showed a couple things that makes it more interesting. On the website it looks like it has plastic braces and top plate. Does it come with aluminum upgrades?
I think they misspoke in the video, the metal parts shown on the side of the box are available separately as upgrades and replace the corresponding plastic parts, they don't come included with the car. From what I've seen though, the plastic braces aren't typically a failure point on these cars, but it seems like a lot of people upgrade to the metal hubs/knuckles. The drivetrain is all metal, which is nice! Mine is still box stock and has been an absolute blast so far!

@@norcalrcexperience7594 It is a steep price, but I feel like it's worth it. I had also looked into the Traxxas Fiesta ST Rally, but to be able to reliably run a brushless system on 3S, it needs a number of supporting mods. It seemed like the cost would easily total up to the same or more than the WR8, which seems to be plenty robust (at least drivetrain wise) straight out of the box. The handling is awesome if you really want a scale rally car feel!

It looks good but it's expensive and I'm on the fence with HPI
It’s insane, thing does 45+ out of the box, super hard to break. I’ve had mine for a month and beaten the thing senseless. Held up way better then my old slash did

Them 3mm hexes are pretty small 😆 🤣
Do not forget about the power up program with Traxxas so you can get half off on your next ESC and brushless upgrade
