  • An educational video to demonstrate upper back massage techniques with anatomy and key points during a treatment. Once you press "play" this video will instruct you how to perform a 25 minute back massage using body and sports massage techniques. This video covers the deltoids, trapezius, infraspinatus, supraspinatus, rhomboids, erector spinae and levator scapula muscles. Techniques used are effleurage, petrissage, compressions, stripping, frictions, lengthening. This video teaches techniques that are taught on the VTCT Level 3 #sportsmassage and Level 4 #massage course with Clare Riddell at her Pressure Point Clinic in Arnold, Nottingham (UK)

    Nice,can I aware about direction of the massage neither towards heart or not

      That is more appropriate for effleurage techniques on the limbs - always work towards the body/heart. For more specific work on the back it won’t really affect blood flow towards the heart

    Curious about percussion. I didnt see that used at all. Would it be useful or not?

      I would use it for a pre event massage to stimulate the muscles but not general treatment - though you can do!

    Can I ask where you get your slimmer face hole cushions from please. I swop between face hole and craddle as the craddle has more padding by I prefer to work with out the craddle. Many thanks and love all of your video

      Hi Zara, they are called gel face cushions, really comfy and stop the client getting a red line around their face! Cost about £18 from Amazon

    Hi! Does a separate step need to be done to work teres minor? Or are you hitting it when you work infraspinatus here?

      Hi Haley, teres minor runs along the lateral edge of infraspinatus so same technique

      Sports massage and deep tissue are very similar, these are just a few techniques used
