I started this channel in January of 2021 to share my knowledge of selling digital downloads on Etsy, or any other platform, as well as my experience with Print on demand. I do my best to bring you the most relevant content about selling print on demand and printables, creating interesting print on demand designs, testing myself print on demand products and their quality, as well as provide you with marketing tutorials, and so much more! I recommend many services and websites in my videos, some may contain affiliate links- which means that you can have a discounted price, or the same price, while I earn a bit of a commission for the referral- to help support this channel and the costs of producing the videos.

I dont think the market is saturated either...I just think people need to start being more creative...instead of redoing what everyone else is doing and thinking they are going to make a ton of money with that same pic...I find the market gets saturated with the same images sometimes...2023 will have the energy of creativity...listen to what your heart wants to design not the ego and let that artist in you flow...theres a place for all of us to succeed...plus we have Mey 💜 with her tips... thank you for the great vid
I agree I have been seeing a lot of people making notebooks coloring books etc. because that’s what I have been into lately and just going to Google finding the lion king or the mermaid images and spending 20 minutes on creating a coloring book and selling it physically is this even legal? And then they call it their product and I’m just thinking to myself you didn’t even really make it. All you did was saved stuff, put it together and sell it.
You are right , I am new to redbuble and I am trying to figure out what kind of art I need and have to creat , it's energy and time consuming to find an idea , and NGL it's so stressful to me because as an artist I always want to creat something but then when it comes to making money and creating something for that I find myself scrolling all day in pintrest to get inspiration then I draw... absolutely nothing 😥😥😥😥😥

Paper Dolls!!! I was thinking a few days ago that i should try and make paler dolls. I haven't seem them since i was a kid. In the 80's we didn't have tech gadgets to keep us busy on road trips andat the laundromat. Paper dolls were an inexpemsive item for parents to give their kids and i often spent my allowance on them. They came in books, like coloring pages and usually also had a couple sticker pages. So fabulous someone is making them! Imma have to join her someday.
I have literally just binged so many of your videos. I have ADHD, ongoing mental and physical health issues, 2 Etsy shops - and I, like you, have shut down a previous one already because of feeling inferior and like it "wouldn't work". I have similar problems too, my energy lets me down, you're ahead of me with an Etsy shop really well done, almost ready to open a zazzle shop, I have many designs ready of my own. Been researching for a few years to work for myself and trying to get past obstacles. Good luck with all your work 🎉😊

Great to see you again! This was as usual super informative like all your videos. Just a question, can you use canva to make canva templates and then sell them on canva? Using their free elements?
Oh when you start talking about files and file form at about 39:10ish, you hit the nail on the head. I want to sell my ai art and other art I make on creative fabrica, ON creative fabrica but how do you make the physical file for the consumer? What ratio do you use? What types of formats do you include in the compressed zip file? These are the things I would love to see you do a video on. You are so great about sharing all of your information, you are the only one I really watch for this stuff because I know you are honest and not just out to make a buck. Love your channel Mey and I hope you keep up with the videos! They are fantastic.

I’m glad you brought up the notebook I have been working on a coloring book for about a month now may be a little longer I haven’t gotten very far but I’m making everything from scratch when the end product comes what kind of copy paper would I use To print it and also the cover what would I use for that or do you make your coloring books notebooks etc. use them for print on demand and buy your own you made? Just curious to figure out the end product. Also, you did say something in your video about Hostetler I think that’s what it’s called. Would love to see a video of that.
Thank you for a great content. Lots to learn. I am looking for a tool to create a blog and downloads shop all-in-one. Tried wix, but it's so tough and slow. Do you know a good platform for it? To keep it mine/independent (unlike etsy) and flexible in terms of design and functioning? Would be grateful for any tips and ideas. Thank you again for all the value you give to us!
I too appreciate all your ideas AND have a lot to learn. What I've learned over the last year (or more) is that just creating product -the easy part- is just a part of the whole story. Marketing is so important. Probably more important than creating good design. And, pending the product, customer service. Etsy really pushes customized products so you have to pay very close attention. My products -mugs- aren't simple passive POD. So if I'm not right there I'm risking time and not completing the sale Knowing whatI know now I'd do something different. Or skip Etsy all together.
Please consider doing a tutorial on the web hosting site that has site builder for selling digital items. Thanks!

Maya, Any suggestions or possible future tutorials on creating our own mockups? I know this is a little different, but thought maybe you had some suggestions on platforms or free software to accomplish this. By the way... GenevievesDesignStudio and Let's Draw with BeeJayDeL are my favorite YT Illustrators who use Procreate; watch them all the time. But, You my girl are my favorite personality. Not sure I will be much of an expert on that... I have started uploading a bit at some point, but had several other things to prioritize. there are so many platforms for that, and not sure I will be an expert of where to upload... also some of them have different application options.

What I can say- if you wanna sell stock photography or footage, better make what people want to buy.... Shutterstock's footage and trends emails can help you a bit with seeing the trends and what people are searching for.

Great info Mey! I started looking into selling printables on Etsy a little while ago, watched some workshops and now I have lots of people trying to sell me Private Label Rights aka PLR products. I don't fully understand this. They say that you rebrand them and can sell on Etsy and Amazon, but I'm not sure how that would be any different than how you say people are getting banned for using Creative Fabrica things. What do you think about using PLR products to sell things like printable planners?

I was thinking of doing them and RUclips started automating that so i got off thinking of that.
Timestamps, while amazing for the viewer- can be really bad for the channel creator. I have seen people I know have full videos taken off the algorithm and basically stop all traffic once they put timestamps, so I was kinda reluctant on that for a while., but again- RUclips started placing them automatically now..

Hello Mey, Do you think using AI content on a website will penalize it by google in the future since Google announced in their last spam update that they hate AI generated content.. I mean when you use copy.ai content do you edit it n make it more "human" or just use it as is.. and if so what do u think abt the fact that google can detect that it is an AI generated content
Etsy doesn’t work for me because Etsy doesn’t forward sales tax to my state (who collects digital sales tax) and my state would require me to do it…. which I’ve done in the past with a traditional business for 14 years and want nothing to do with it for a digital downloads business. I checked gumroad and a few others and they also do not handle sales taxes. Do you know of any companies that do? I currently earn my income making royalties from Amazon and zazzle, both handle sales taxes themselves, but I need a solution for digital downloads.
what software (ideally free) can I use instead of Canva to get 300 dpi? I want to use these files to sell on society6. I have been enhacing the canva images with AI enhancers but they don't go up to 300 dpi either. Just 96 dpi.
Well, Canva doesn't give you 300 DPI, they have no actual DPI control in that level.
Kittl has DPI control., as they were made for taking a file to print, but their free version can be somewhat limited.
I know people use Gimp and Photopea...
I use Clip Studio Paint and Procreate (none of which are free though..)

Well, there are over 200 digital products a person can sell (even over 500 )
I def think that a shop combining all of them would have no target audience and would be rather hard to market.

The canva issues come from their terms of service - which doesn’t actually clarify what you can or cannot do …

@@MeyTribe Re: Canva, I used one of its "copyright-free" music in one of my RUclips videos, but YT tagged the Canva music as copyrighted, so I had to replace it with one from YT's music library.

I've had sales from it, but I haven't really started marketing it yet, so it was quite a surprise for me that anything sold LOL
I even had one of my notebooks selected for staff picks, and that really helped out sales.

I think I mentioned many platforms to sell here, the best one would be the one you're most comfortable with. If you can design an amazing wordpress website- go with woocommerce. If you're a beginner not sure how to design go with shopify or payhip- based on your budget. There's no one answer that fits everyone.

I found your instragram page and your facebook group but it seems to be that you don't do a lot of social media marketing. Is that true or am I just not finding you. I don't do much of social media marketing for this channel...
I get a lot of traffic from within RUclips, and it's kinda nice having my IG to myself. (I will also be talking a bit about that in a video later today about the ways I lost money)
I was thinking of tiktok for other projects, but I don't really like tiktok with their algorithm being insanely unhealthy for people. Was starting something for the new channel self love journaling on tiktok, but for some reason- connecting the app to the other links (IG and YT) doesn't connect using an app, but a browser- which opens up in Bulgarian for me LOL So I kinda stopped trying with that one.
