Dude, I have been WAITING for someone to walk me through the options for selling digital products. So far all I've done is create but not install and sell. You've lit a fire under my butt. Thank you!
Great walkthrough Jessica! I use my Wordpress, Teachable and Etsy to sell digital products. Each one has its pro/cons and once you learn how to do it once, it will be a skillset you can continue to use for years to come!
But Annie Dube can resolve copyright strikes by waiting for 90 days to expire, contacting the owner and asking them to retract their complaint, or sending the counter notification.
Thank you for this free information/education! I always look forward to your videos as you explain things so well and thoroughly. Love your enthusiasm and humor, too! Can't wait for future videos on this topic! 😊
Thank you for sharing! You legit made me feel happier while watching your video. I like your humor, kindness and way of teaching. I lived in NC for 8 years and miss that charm. ✨have a great day!
I have a Wix website and it allows me to sell digital downloads. I do have to use my MS Windows laptop and not my iPad to upload, I started with posters and calendar sheets.
I was so intrigued when I saw you were going to cover this topic. Firstly... really comprehensive breakdown as to how you set the product up so that you can sell it. I think those who are overwhelmed [spotted a few comments below] are probably feeling that way because they haven't dabbled with the systems yet, so it was a bit for them to take in - but once they pick a platform + rewatch the section of the video... they will be totally fine. My question is actually from the other side of selling... I was really curious to hear how you sold your products. Let me explain... What I'm sensing from the video - is that if someone doesn't have systems / foot traffic - then the best approach is Etsy / Creative Market - as there is "foot traffic" - people are already on the platform. I don't feel like my offers are the best approach for those platforms, plus I've already gone and set it up on my own website. BUT... I currently don't have the biggest [or most engaged] audience - and haven't had a lot of sales of my goods from them before [only one or two products sold]. So I'm wondering... How do you SELL the products you've listed - without an audience? If I look at your model - I'm guessing the focus is on content [blog + youtube] - with a free opt-in [so that you build up a more engaged audience], and then nurture sequence + sale? But in one of the other videos I think I heard you mention a SLO - and wondered if you thought that was a good option [also been a little burnt by the facebook ad] - but like the idea of someone investing a [tiny] bit to get on a more "inner circle" type list... because I don't know how I feel about having to build up a list of 15,000 just to make 150 sales. Sorry for the longer comment - but thought it may help to explain myself properly ;) lol
Etsy suspended my store 2 days after I opened it with no reason given. I'm certain nothing is trademarked or had a copywrite because everything is 100% mine. And I did my research. It's unacceptable to me that there is zero support. I contacted them and just got an email saying they will need time to look into it. What the? Research what? How can they suspend it and not know why? I put weeks of work and planning just for them to suspend with no reason. With no reason given there is no way to fix it. If this was my only income I'd be completely screwed. Anyway if anyone made it this far be cautious with Etsy... Yes, I checked my spam folder no email what so ever from them.
I've seen in some other videos that Etsy will sometimes temporarily suspend new shops to ensure they are legitimate. I would contact them and request a review for reinstatement.
@@audreygeorge9003 I did immediately. They just said they need to research it and that it may take up to a week to get back to me. It could be something as simple as a bug in their system. They offer zero help. I naively assumed they had 24/7 help for sellers but nope. Unless they consider a pre-set email response saying I need to be patient while they look into it as help.
There are several videos, I have seen, recently, that talked about this very thing happening. Etsy will tell you that they are looking into it, but these people went weeks, and even months, without any help, from Etsy. They had no explanation of what they had done wrong, or even how to fix it. I am very hesitant about Etsy. These people were long time sellers, and they had no clue what they did wrong, so what is a new seller supposed to do? These people didn't get any of the emails, they were supposed to get, either
Somehow RUclips suggested your channel and I’m so glad that it did even though I’m struggling to keep up with most of your exclamations of all of these options and platforms I like the way you ended this video because I had the same question what’s to stop somebody from doing a screenshot or pirate in your image or your checklist and just side stepping paying for a product personally I do this when I don’t want to buy some thing if it’s small and I just need it for something quick
😂 😂 I just found your channel, like seriously 15 minutes ago, and have watched two other videos ....and I almost every question, I saw, in the comments, was this very question. Too funny.
I use gumroad to sell. It's easiest for me and hosts all kinds of products with instant downloads. There are so many options in this video, I'd forget where I posted it all
Thank you, Jessica, but I think I am more confused now. Of all the options you described I dont know which would be a simple one for me to use. They all seem so complex for me to use.
I literally laughed at how many ads are on this video LOL but thank you though for your information! I’ve watched your videos so much I kind of know when you are about to say all the things 😆 thanks again! 💕
Great info!! I just found your channel today... have you shared strategies about how you drive customers to your digital products? If not, I'd love to hear what has worked for you!
Had this video as an open tab for a good while now - but so worth watching! I have a Wordpress site, but not much traffic so I don't think Woocommerce is for me just yet. However, it's very nice to see the backend of both Wordpress and Etsy and how you do the actual listings. Thank you! 🙏
Hey, Jessica! New to your channel. This video was more about how to deliver a digital product but do you have a video on how to actually sell (market) a digital product? How to actually get money in the door? How to get eyeballs on your offer that turn into conversions?! I have tons of products made and ready to go in my LinkTree. Just not sure how to get ppl to buy. Thanks!
But how to bring traffic to these marketplaces that's the real challenge? I tried selling t-shirt designs on red bubble but to no avail. I tried to bring traffic through Pinterest but they cancelled my account thinking it's spam or something. Making accounts and putting your product on display on these to marketplaces seems easy but it ain't gonna get you anywhere if there's no traffic. Or else you will have to spend on ads.
I would love to get started selling digital products. Is there a market for teachers selling Digitals products? Is there other places to sell than Teacher Pay Teacher and Pinterest? I need help to figure it out.
I have been working on starting my digital products business for a couple years. Learning Illustrator, deciding what streams I want to work. Figuring out what sites I want to sell on. Should I start with a weekly blog / merchandise site, gaining email addresses for gathering followers / email campaigning? How will I manage Etsy, redbubble, society 6, spoonflower, etc all at once. Do I save up many items for a big Etsy shop opening to take advantage of Etsy's free starters ads? Is it worth it? Or should I just start with a single item? I have researched so many things including what I should copyright or trademark. I thought I was doing pretty well. You, however, are bringing up things I haven't looked into yet. Thank you. I can't wait to get the last 2 things out of my way, so that I can concentrate on creating.
Is there a book that explains steps by step, how to list the digital printables. Can Canva aid in assisting creating templates I need to sell the printables? Thank you for videos each video I watch everyone speaks fast and it's diffcult to retain all the information. And it's often diffcult learning a new computer skill when you are an older adult. Should I hire a digital coach or take courses to learn this information about digital printable. Going to sell with ETSY. I understand listing fees and other fees on Etsy. Is there a total cost that I need to pay to start selling digital printables. Thank you for your time, Lisa
Esssshhh.... that's a whole lot of info and my head is spinning.. after awhile it sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher.. waa wa wa wa wa... I may have to watch this a couple/three times... or is that WHY you gave so much info? Ha! Sigh.
Liked and subscribed! Thanks for the great info Jessica! I’m a truck driver/trainer with a blog and YT channel. I developed my own teaching methods and concepts, and the feedback from my students has been very positive. I’m creating my first premium video and you answered so many of my questions.
Thank you so much for this walk through. I do have a question though. After you publish your product to Etsy.. when someone purchases your product do you have to keep sending out the digital files or is it automatically sent out every time it’s purchased? I’m 9min into the video so I’m sorry if you mention it later I just didn’t want to forget it.
*How do you actually SELL Digital Products?* 2:14 - 5:29 *Sell on a platform with a market already built in.* _A Market is any location, whether in person or online, that facilitates the exchange of goods between buyers and sellers_. *TIPS* • Etsy & Creative Market • Etsy - Caters to multiple niches and crafts. • Creative Market has a more focus niche in _Planners & Templates_. • Etsy is not B2C (Business to consumer) • Creative Market B2B ( Business to Business) • Both platforms require fees. 5:29 *Etsy Shop Setup* - 27:30 ...In short this is not a video on how to find leads and actually sell a product this is more of a video on how to setup your shop and upload digital products. *How to actually sell a product* to a consumer. *CREATING THE PRODUCT* Step 1. Look for a problem. (i.e. Sarah cannot keep track of her spending) Quick Tip: Look on social media platforms, apps, reddit, real life, for problems, look in the comments section of topics that interest you. for example if templates interest you then search videos on your favorite platform about templates. Then, go into the comments section or to the content creators store and look at what you can improve upon or what has not been created yet or better still what problem you can solve. This is the idea stage, the brainstorming stage. Make a list of ideas. Step 2. Provide a solution ( i.e. You build a budget template using your resources, skills, websites, platforms, programs etc.) Quick Tip: what if you do not know how to do something? aka solve a problem. Then you will need to learn the skill or craft in order to provide the solution. Aquire the skill you need on youtube, u Udemy, mentor, etc. Then build your solution. This is your sweat equity you are working for free and spending your time. *CREATING A BUZZ Showing people you exist* Step 3. Find a platform to create content on, making sure your content is directly in sync with what you will be selling in the near future. (i.e. you will post short clips of you using your budget template ) Quick Tip: Do not tell people you are selling anything instead just explain how this budget template works show them how you are using it show several examples or several templates show them the problem it solves. Step 4. Add people with similar interests. Quick Tip: in the search bar as an example you can look for templates and then look at videos with similar templates and then go to the comments section in those videos. Add the people in the comments section. These are going to be your leads, more on this later. *Building a following* Step 5. Which ever platform you are using you should at least have 500 - 1,000 followers minimum IMO but you may have less. Most platforms give you benefits to having 1,000 or more followers. In tiktok for example you can start doing live videos when you hit 1,000 followers. Step 6. To build a following you can add people manually or if you have a good enough skit, video, content, and create a CTA aka call to action aka " share like and subscribe for more videos like this* in order to grow. More followers = more leads. Quick Tip: If you already have a good sized following then skip this step and proceed. if not then take the time to grow. be patient! * Lead Magnets* Step 7. What the heck is a lead magnet? in short its a free product that attracts customers aka leads, aka clients, aka people aka buyers to your website. THIS IS A MUST!!! You must create free products or offer free services. *_YOU MUST PROVIDE VALUE_*. Your Lead magnet needs to be of good quality if people do not like your free products they will not feel the value in your more expensive products and will not buy or will tell others not to buy and reputation is very important. *WEBSITES* Step 8. Now that you have a product, a lead magnet a social media platform, & followers, its time to upload your digital product or physical product onto a website. Quick Tip: There are wayyyyy too many sites and platforms to list however, i recommend if you don't have cash, to look into platforms that allow you to sell your product for a fee instead of a monthly payment plan. Chat GPT & RUclips will be your best friend to research this IMO. if your website has a referral system with coupons and discounts, USE IT! Pro Tip: If you want to sell a product for $10 sell it for $20 and add a referral banner or 50% discount for every referred friend. this will come in handy to help build your following and sales. again I recommend but you can do what you want. *LINK TREE, or something similar* step. 9 Having a link tree will become essential once you have multiple platforms, websites, lead magnet websites, launch page, etc. pay the extra $ for a monthly plan you do not want long links with long random names. people will not click on something they cannot read IMO. *Lead Fishing* Step. 10 Go back to your social media platform and create more content only this time showcase your free template and your call to action will no longer be to share and subscribe to your platform instead it will be to click on the link in your bio or wherever your website is located in order for people to download your free template aka your lead magnet. Step. 11 Now that you set the bait its time to reel in the fish. anyone who liked or commented or viewed your content is now a priority fish.. I mean a Lead ;) These are the first people you want to present a direct offer to. Step. 12 Your direct offer is a message that encompasses a solution to their problem for example. "HI, Sarah thank you so much for your comment on my video I really appreciate it, I'd like for you to have this free template on budgets and spending which will help you save and organize your finances. Many have been able to save an entire paycheck in just 4 weeks i can't wait for it to do the same for you." now you can either post the link in the message or add more to the direct message and ask them to go to your bio to access their free template instead. Step 13. Once they are on your website one of a few things will happen 1. they will buy something. 2. they will not buy anything 3. they will refer a friend (this is where your refferal comes into play) 4. they will browse and come back to you in the direct message to ask more info or compliment you 5. they will delete you, block you, unfriend you. Step 14. If they come back to message you, you now have to reel them back into your website or offer an exclusive deal just for them. Upsell, or answer any questions or doubts they may have. FINAL TIP: RINSE AND REPEAT STEPS 10 THROUGH 12 TO ACTUALLY SELL! once you have everything else setup. make sure to keep up with the current trends for your nieche, never stop learning, never stop trying things out, and always adapt to changes. embrace them. THIS IS HOW YOU SELL. THIS IS NOT HOW TO BECOME A MILLIONAIR OR HOW TO GET RICH QUICK. OR HOW TO SELL A COURSE. THIS IS RAW UNCUT HOW TO SELL. There may be a lot of in between steps i skipped or did not cover and other things you can do like launch pages you will need to do your own research on this but I have covered the major steps to take from start to finish the rest is up to you. if what you are doing is not working or making money asses if its your product or the market is to small, the location, the target audience is not the right one etc. Or maybe you don't know how to talk and message people which i would recommend finding someone who can or working on your social skills.
How do you actually get traffic and generate sales? Because they are easy to create and on etsy on the first page some of them look crap but they are still on the first page somehow… How much do you have to spend on ads?
Can you do a simpler videos? Like like this but for technical dummies like me? This was a little (way) over my head. It's not you...it's me! It's not your fault I'm an idiot...but I'm sure there are more just like me! I can't be alone...can I?
How can I add the people who bought something off my website to my email list if I chose the downloadable route instead? Does woo commerce save people’s emails who bought something?
Whats with so many sellers being put on reserve right now even when they do everything correctly? And what about digital product sellers getting putnon reserve for not providing tracking? Etsy sends product link immediately upon payment. So etsy knows its sent and received. But still puts sellers on reserve. Some on reserve over 90 days. Some as long as up to a year.
Hi Jessica! Love your videos (especially your enthusiasm 😀). I'm a Quality professional and would absolutely love to create project planners, Six Sigma templates, etc. but not exactly sure Etsy would be a fit. Would AnyTask be the best space for specialized professionals selling digital products? Also, where can I locate your courses? I'd love to understand how I can actually turn my profession into a digital business and potentially even offer short courses on how to use these templates...
Hi Jess, I have not seen any videos that talk about how customers can access links and edit a template document. For instance, if I send a pdf file, don't they have to have an Adobe Acrobat subscription to edit it? If I send the Google doc link, it sends them to the main page for google docs but not just to the document I'm selling. If I send a canva template, it says they have to request access from me to be able to be an editor. What am I doing wrong?
Hey Jessica is PowerPoint a professional option to make digital planners for Windows users? Most of the tutorials I've found are for using Keynote. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you Christy
Great video!! Question and it may be a stupid one. I have never uploaded my digitals through my WooCommerce because I thought you didn’t have control over how many times they downloaded it but regardless I was trying to upload a downloadable freebie but it kept charging a shipping fee and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to toggle this off. What am I missing? 😅
A little late, but someone else might have this question, so I'll answer it... I recommend turning on free shipping in the shipping settings tab. If you have physical products that you also sell, increase their prices to cover your shipping costs. There is some evidence that people are more likely to buy something with free shipping even if it costs the same or more with free shipping versus having shipping billed separately, so it might help with other sales anyway! I have free shipping across my platforms and always just add it to my prices.
Jessica, Thank you very much for sharing this info. 👍I Love your videos because of the energy and passion that you share in them. 🤩Lately, I find myself going through your past videos to pick up even more info! It is clear that you are talented and know your business. Have a GREAT day! 🌞Can't wait for the next video!
Hi Jessica, thanks for the videos and great detailed info. I’m starting new and at a point where I want to connect PayPal to my email list. When I try. PayPal prompts me to enter a business name, but i don’t have a business. How come many people say you don’t have to register a business to start making some money online? Thanks.
Okay, I'm going to be the 'negative nancy' here, but there is SO much competition from so many other people who already have well established accounts selling so many similar digital products/designs on Etsy, Creative Market, etc. It is very saturated. So many people have their stuff on sale right now and are making $5-$10 on average per sale. I can't comprehend how this can be a very lucrative way to make extra money, especially when you compare that with the time and effort you put into creating each product. IMO I don't think it's time well spent for the monetary gain.
Dude, I have been WAITING for someone to walk me through the options for selling digital products. So far all I've done is create but not install and sell. You've lit a fire under my butt. Thank you!

I use Anytask for digital goods. It's just perfect.
honestly bingewatching your videos rn , 100% ready to sell my first digital products
Thank you madam for your helping and supporting
Thank you for this free information/education! I always look forward to your videos as you explain things so well and thoroughly. Love your enthusiasm and humor, too! Can't wait for future videos on this topic! 😊
Thanks for the great information. Now I know how to add a digital product to my website. I have always wondered how this is possible.

Ok so, no more half dug holes. Thank you Jessica, nailed it!
Thank you Jessica! looking forward to more✌️
I swear I've searched for something like this this for 3 days!

How was the crumbl cookies? I find them to be just ok. They’re such a sugar bomb lol!
You've inspired me to finally turn some things I've already created into marketable digital products
Love your channel and style, thanks👍😊💯

Hi Jessica, great video. Do you have another video about Wordpress and Woocomerce. I’m not familiar with Convert Kit. Thanks
Very helpful video. Thanks so much for going into such great detail.

This is perfect .Thank you for sharing
Love all the info. Didn’t take me long to realize you had on an App State sweatshirt! Love it!! I’m a hop, skip and a jump away.
Great info!! I just found your channel today... have you shared strategies about how you drive customers to your digital products? If not, I'd love to hear what has worked for you!
Watch your videos for years now girl! Had no idea we went to the same university! Thanks for all the help!!
omg thank you!
Can you make a video on how to sell a high ticket digital product? Not like a course or anything coz those are the only ones I’ve seen so far

I’d like to know too. So many ideas given but no one ever tells you how to market.
Thank you, Jessica. I was always interested in digital products. Now you give me the ideas that I need it.
Hey I don’t know if this was different before. But the manual and automatic option is just if you what to be charged every 4 months if it hasn’t sold.
thank you so so much for this information! 🙌🏼
Thank you for the useful info!
love it!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Thank you so very much Jessica! I’m a subscriber and love your channel! So very helpful! God Bless! 💜

I need to try this. Thank you.

Going to sell with ETSY.
I understand listing fees and other fees on Etsy. Is there a total cost that I need to pay to start selling digital printables.

I’m 9min into the video so I’m sorry if you mention it later I just didn’t want to forget it.
*How do you actually SELL Digital Products?*
2:14 - 5:29 *Sell on a platform with a market already built in.*
_A Market is any location, whether in person or online, that facilitates the exchange of goods between buyers and sellers_.
*TIPS*
• Etsy & Creative Market
• Etsy - Caters to multiple niches and crafts.
• Creative Market has a more focus niche in _Planners & Templates_.
• Etsy is not B2C (Business to consumer)
• Creative Market B2B ( Business to Business)
• Both platforms require fees.
5:29 *Etsy Shop Setup* - 27:30
...In short this is not a video on how to find leads and actually sell a product this is more of a video on how to setup your shop and upload digital products.
*How to actually sell a product* to a consumer.
*CREATING THE PRODUCT*
Step 1. Look for a problem. (i.e. Sarah cannot keep track of her spending)
Quick Tip: Look on social media platforms, apps, reddit, real life, for problems, look in the comments section of topics that interest you. for example if templates interest you then search videos on your favorite platform about templates. Then, go into the comments section or to the content creators store and look at what you can improve upon or what has not been created yet or better still what problem you can solve. This is the idea stage, the brainstorming stage. Make a list of ideas.
Step 2. Provide a solution ( i.e. You build a budget template using your resources, skills, websites, platforms, programs etc.)
Quick Tip: what if you do not know how to do something? aka solve a problem. Then you will need to learn the skill or craft in order to provide the solution. Aquire the skill you need on youtube, u
Udemy, mentor, etc. Then build your solution. This is your sweat equity you are working for free and spending your time.
*CREATING A BUZZ Showing people you exist*
Step 3. Find a platform to create content on, making sure your content is directly in sync with what you will be selling in the near future. (i.e. you will post short clips of you using your budget template )
Quick Tip: Do not tell people you are selling anything instead just explain how this budget template works show them how you are using it show several examples or several templates show them the problem it solves.
Step 4. Add people with similar interests.
Quick Tip: in the search bar as an example you can look for templates and then look at videos with similar templates and then go to the comments section in those videos. Add the people in the comments section. These are going to be your leads, more on this later.
*Building a following*
Step 5.
Quick Tip: If you already have a good sized following then skip this step and proceed. if not then take the time to grow. be patient!
* Lead Magnets*
Step 7.
*WEBSITES*
Step 8.
*LINK TREE, or something similar*
step. 9 Having a link tree will become essential once you have multiple platforms, websites, lead magnet websites, launch page, etc. pay the extra $ for a monthly plan you do not want long links with long random names. people will not click on something they cannot read IMO.
*Lead Fishing*
Step.
Step 13. Once they are on your website one of a few things will happen
1. they will buy something.
2. they will not buy anything
3. they will refer a friend (this is where your refferal comes into play)
4. they will browse and come back to you in the direct message to ask more info or compliment you
5. they will delete you, block you, unfriend you.
Because they are easy to create and on etsy on the first page some of them look crap but they are still on the first page somehow…
How much do you have to spend on ads?
Hey Jessica! how do you prevent others from sharing the pdf url link with others?
Where do you sell your products specifically
Did you end u making that video you mention at the end about actual products and revenue?
Thanks for sharing!!
Information overload! 🤯😂
It was like a mini-course! Ha
Do have any videos on the commercial licensing process for digital works? Like can you draft an agreement yourself? Does a layer need to be involved?
Whats with so many sellers being put on reserve right now even when they do everything correctly?
And what about digital product sellers getting putnon reserve for not providing tracking? Etsy sends product link immediately upon payment. So etsy knows its sent and received. But still puts sellers on reserve. Some on reserve over 90 days. Some as long as up to a year.
SO valuable, thank you so much! How many times do you personally allow someone to download your files? xoxo
Love this! Thank you, Jessica! Can't wait for the next video on this! ❤️
HEY Jessica! I haven't seen you on my timeline in forever I am so excited to watch your video. Hope you're well!
I took a free course for creating digital planners, Powerpoint was definitely mentioned as an option 🙂
Always informative😉
How do you even add instructions to a file and attach it altogether in a zip file? This is where I am stuck.
30 min you can do it in 3 min !!!
I am interested
Hi Jessica, thanks for the videos and great detailed info. I’m starting new and at a point where I want to connect PayPal to my email list. When I try. PayPal prompts me to enter a business name, but i don’t have a business. How come many people say you don’t have to register a business to start making some money online? Thanks.
You don’t have to register a business but having a business name is great
Great, thanks for the info, I do appreciate your help!
i am exhausted
What about HoneyBook?
What do you think about Kartra?.
Explain fab Amazon?
Love your videos and all the information. 💕 I can tell that you don't look at the camera sometimes 😬 idk maybe your reading a script .
If someone else can do it. Why cant you?
hey howdie hey y'all
Finally!!!
Which digital product shall I create first?
Okay, I'm going to be the 'negative nancy' here, but there is SO much competition from so many other people who already have well established accounts selling so many similar digital products/designs on Etsy, Creative Market, etc. It is very saturated. So many people have their stuff on sale right now and are making $5-$10 on average per sale. I can't comprehend how this can be a very lucrative way to make extra money, especially when you compare that with the time and effort you put into creating each product. IMO I don't think it's time well spent for the monetary gain.
Completely off-topic...Is Jessica getting more beautiful as she gets older??
Love the video, Great content.
Cuz we are hearing all about it but when someone isn't tech savvy they don't know how to store them safely and have it automated.
Guilty 😔
Dont do Etsy
Could I not earn 100$ a day passively !
Haai
I'm from India.
What service or skill set should we ask for on AnyTask to help create digital products to sell?
Fees are crazy!
