Oooooh! Rogue Planets! *googles* Ah! Yeah, found it :D "A rogue planet (also termed a free-floating planet (FFP), interstellar, nomad, orphan, starless, unbound or wandering planet) is an interstellar object of planetary-mass which is not gravitationally bound to any star." Awesome thanks!
Yea a rogue planet is one without a star. Usually ejected from a solar system. That being said a group with no star is not possible. I would guess that system has a black hole or something. Kinda wish you went In.
Make sure to have at least 2 ships with a salvage gantry, the diference beetwen having them and not, is very great, since you are thinking of picking some uaf ships, pick an exploration vessel, they do 2 very important roles in the fleet, lowering the supply cost for survey and a bonus to salvage.
Agree, at least one ship with a salvage gantry is a must. It will increase the amount of supplies and fuel you recover so you won't be as dependent on buying your supplies as you are now. The bigger the hull, the greater the bonus for salvage you get, however there are diminishing returns so you can't just get a bunch of cheap salvage frigates to max out your bonus.
there is a mod that offer exploration refit and fuel additive hull mod that make you use less fuel for cargoship and tanker from More hullmods mod and it's save-compatible , so really recommend.
if can get your hand on a cherry vanguard XXL freighter you don´t need any other freighter with a capcity of 35.000 and fuel consumtion 10. for your colonys the special items are so helpfull in term of income and production. the juliets are avaideble but they are rare on the open market. I believe your still missing the skill for reduced deployment points for ships in your skilltree
that caution "name" i guess it will show up when you encounter with high level enemy captain like in the bounty.
I think rogue planets are a thing, asteroids don’t have cores afaik

Nebulae can have enough mass to hold planets prior to star formation.
It makes sense when you think about it: all the mass of multible stars is already there.

Ooooooooh.
I haven't tried this farming with 1 salvage rig, but it seems to be more efficient with 3. It can be game mechanics, can be random luck, idk.

Rogue planet is the word you were looking for.
Timo, im was thinking AI cores only found by AI infested star system or disrupt their industries.
and better to leave the colonies in the hands of an alpha AI cores
