Serenity came out the same year as Star Wars III. I had only seen an episode of Firefly and was a big Star Wars fan. Serenity was a lot better than SW3. My late wife agreed with me. Glad to see more of your action. I binge-watched your last run 2 weeks ago. Your Kits have been doing a pretty good job on their own. Youre in a face to face slugging match, then a swarm of missiles come in and eat up his armor or overload him.
You've inspired me to finally actually learn how to pilot in this game. I've done several endgame playthroughs, but I never bothered to learn, and always specced away from personal skills. I know the player can be a big force multiplier in battles, but I've never managed to pull it off.
Having personal escorts run with you, completing objectives or going for kills, is really good. Totally agreed about the force multiplier. I've found a lot of success, in longer firefights, when my game plan is totally destroyed, in just running around and delivering the killing blow to enemy cruisers that have strayed too far
I bought the game a week ago and so far only made it through the first tutorial, every time I watch a stream of the campaign it seems crazy deep so I am waiting until I have a bunch of hours/days I can sink into it - been waiting for a game like this for years!
Hello Mr. X. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. Your M&B 2 archer playthrough is really good, and now I find out you play starsector as well?!?! All my Christmases have come at once. Subbed.
The Interstellar Imperium is one of those factions I never remove from my modlist but also never play with because they are both so good they could be vanilla and also so vanilla they don't hold my interest too much. Weird issue to have but great reason to watch this playthrough.
I would LOVE to see a tutorial or... "tips that the game doesn't tell you" style video. I've been watching a ton of your lets plays trying to get a handle on the game and there's just some things I don't understand, like how many supplies you need, what's the important stats to look at on ships and stuff.
oooh Imperian of Man modded faction playthrough? COOL! I just started a 50+ mod run of pirate faction. I added in the mysterious debt from my past option, and so far it's been pretty rocky start. got Shmunked a couple of times, but now in episode 2, we're starting to get a foothold. Managed to take out a trading fleet (albeit with heavy losses) and got a bunch of metal and transplutonics, 60k ish worth.
"this is meant to be a big boy faction, with big ships and big powerful guns" That's kinda funny, because my experience has been that the Imperium is the "oops no large slots" faction; mostly they spam m/s slots and boost them with their unique imperial package hull mods.
Confused me a bit when you invoked The Imperium of Man but I you were not using Imperial ships. There's a mod for that, "Battlefleets of the Gothic Sector". Unless you are thinking of something other than Warhammer40K.
13:52 Where did that officer come from? Is that a vanilla feature or which mod is needed for that? I anready wondered in another playthrough video of yours. Love them by the way! Thank you. :)
You got me playing this game. Looking forward to this series. How do you feel about the industrial evolution mod? I enjoy it a bunch, it ads some interesting things to Colonies and fleshes out exploration somewhat. You get a few ’boss’ encounters that are quite challanging and fun. Cheers
Hi Threat - if the bounty says - it's in the system with a giant red star, it doesn't mean "giant" on the map. It means it has to have word |Giant" in it's name Red Giant, Blue Giant etc - these are star types - Dwarfs, Giants, Supergiants - for example. Honestly like your videos, but it was kind of hard watching that part :)
There *is* a captain's log mod, called as such. Not sure if it's up to date, but it was UTD when I last played ~Nov 2021. You have to use console mod to write in the captain's log, but all notes have their home in a tab on the logistics screen iirc I'm assuming, though, you mean a note you can 'tack' onto the map and mouse over, which would be pretty cool.
I believe the simulator ship selection is dependent on what ships the mod makers choose to add to the simulation. Some mods I use has almost every ship of theirs in the simulator. Others will have almost all of the common designs but exclude most or all the special variants and have none of the unique ships present.
the funniest part of this " I can sell the drugs to the military!?" ....hahahaha yes, yes you can. Look at how much drugs the civilians do and then think of how much shittier the military life is and you'll have an idea of how much drugs they need XD
Did you know there's an actual 40k mod for this game? you can still add it in and get the blueprints and such from research stations etc it just wont add the factions unless you restart
I'd love to play this game, but I have a question beforehand : Since it's not on a video-game plateform but a game you buy directly from them (which is good in many aspects), when you buy it, do you buy it only for the computer on which you download it or do they send you the files to engrave onto a CD or the key so you can install it on all your computers (as long as you keep the key) This question is what prevented me to buy it, cause I don't want to buy it just to lose it if I change computers T-T
I know this is a year old but anyway, for new players checking this, the Imperium is NOT a big ship, big gun type of faction, their big ships are a joke honestly, they barely have large slot weapons, and when they do it's usually missiles... yes, it's that bad. Their battleship is probably the worst capital I've played in this game, its built-in weapon does like 100 dps with an unimpressive burst and it's filled with medium and small mounts, on a ''battleship'' yeah, I don't know what kind of concept of battleship the author had in mind but for Starsector (specially with other faction mods) it does not compete at all. The Matriarch (big carrier) is not as bad when we consider, well, that it's a carrier so it's not supposed to outgun a Paragon. If only fighters were useful in this game against anything with basic point defense, I'd probably rate it higher, as it is right now carriers are dead weight unless you have way more ships than the enemy (in which case it doesn't matter if you have figthers or not) or if they don't have proper point defense, and let me tell you, against OP modded factions like the Bultach Coalition or the feminist anime federation they get melted. I get the Imperium might be more balanced against vanilla (their weapons and ships are still inferior to vanilla imo) but you seriously can't expect players to mod the game and add only ONE faction mod, so it has to be competitive. Ok, now the good stuff. I like the flavor, looks and I love the fact that you can change the behaviour of special modules and stats of ships with the different packages, I think more factions should do that and, well, I'm a massive nerd of the Roman Empire, so I always have the faction installed even if I ignore their ships and weapons because they are subpar at best.
