Question: Im have trouble with my dump trailer, have flow but no pressure. What would happen if you used hydraulic fluid instead of ATF. Should I drain the tank and put in new ATF fluid. Do you think that it harmed the unit by using the hydraulic fluid? My pump is just like the one you have in your video. Where can I find a pressure relief solenoid as shown in your video? Great job
On a normal daily used situation I would recommend at least one 850 cca battery. But it’s a good idea to have to hooked in parallel to double the amperage.
I have a bale bed on my truck. It won't lift the arms up or down or side to side. Could it be the pump. Is all signal action can they be turned into double act
Anyway possible to increase the flow of these pumps ?? They run at around 1.5-2 gpm…. Would be nice to get 3gpm. Would lift the dump body probably twice as quick…
It should have a pressure and a tank port/return you’ll have to get a spool valve of some kind run you’re in an out from your pump and then you’ll have the spool valve to reverse the flow to whatever you’re working.
@@backintheshop9604 Awesome! Thanks for the quick response! The pump is a hydr-app 24 volt that I just bought from eBay. I am going to use it to power a hydraulic lift mechanism on an rc track drive robot. I have a mill and a lathe, so I might machine a spool for it to make it double action later on.
They all use ATF SAME with my pto driven pump on my boom truck because when it 20 to 45 below these are used in short use time. Regular hydrolic oil even # 32 with is winter oil for machine that are started up an let warm up an run for hours unlike boom truck pto pump an these 12v pumps do not work in the cold. With that oil. Atf is the only stuff that will work. Same with bottle jakes ext. I put #32 in my boom truck an boom moves maybe 1" in 5 min.
I’ve got a 10,000# dump trailer and it won’t lift 6 ton in the trailer! Can I adjust more pressure even if it’s set to factory specs? The pump I have runs when going up and going down?
It's never a good idea to change the pressure over factory spec with dump trucks / trailers they usually get worn out from contamination dirt gets thru the breather wears out the pump and the lift cylinders but the weakest part is probly the piston seals on the lift cylinder
@@ViVA-MEXICO-AMLO I’d be more than happy to do that if that’s what it takes to dump heavier loads as it should…..very frustrating getting 3 yds of trap rock and the dump trailer won’t dump it…..doing it by hand is defeating the purpose of using a dump trailer!
I need help with a porta power pump I bought that doesn't Force the fluid to the cylinder a video on that would be cool there's not much on the internet about them
Check the fluid level, make sure all of the couplers are actually releasing, so the fluid can flow other than that. You may have to disassemble the entire thing and do some investigating.
Fluid was good. I swapped the pumps with one I borrowed and used the hoses and the cylinder from the kit and everything worked normally. So it's something inside the pump. And that's were I have an ignorance overload.😅..I just can't grasp the overall mechanics of the thing until someone explains it to me.. I have the vevor 12 ton jack.
I have a hydraulic pump like yours but I cannot see how you wired it. I believe I have it wired correctly but all it does is click, it will not circulate the fluid. Can send me a picture of how you wired it? or link? I am using a 2 prong toggle switch for the lift. If it would work better using a 3 wire up & down controller, I might have to do that.
Mine just has a power and a ground hook up. The solenoid and remote are already pre-wired. I just tapped into there is no wires for my extended remote. You should be able to look up the model of your pump and find a wire diagram on Google images or the manufacture website.
So, if I'm going to be running a cylinder on a dump trailer with a max working pressure of 2200psi, what would be the best pressure to set the pump at?
I have a single acting pump but my gravity down goes down very slow. Do you think I have a bad solenoid. I’d rather make it a duel solenoid system but don’t know what to do with the second port
Yes, your solenoid is most likely bad. To use one as a double action, you just have to have a spool valve with a in and out and then you can use it to control the direction of pressure.
@@backintheshop9604 My solenoid on a older Fennel fluid pump doesn’t have a part number on it. Are most solenoids coils within the same voltage interchangeable or are they pump specific? Having a hard time figuring where to start my part replacement search.
@@truhawaii5957 most of the solenoid coils are the same either 12 or 24 V but I’m pretty sure the work on either. The part that’s different is the stem or mechanical part that the coil fits on that is going to be more specific to your pump you may be able to remove it and take it to a local Hydraulic shop and see if they can identify or match it up by dimension.

ive got a pump like this but it has 2 solenoids and another adjustment on the other side. now does the adjustments do the opposite side? (like this appears to do), mine does have forward and reverse rotation. 0
Lifting and turning is all in the valving you use the levers and valves, most bucket trucks only have one pump on them but they have to be dual action pumps.
I have a lowboy trailer using the same hydraulic system. The trailer will go up but leaks down in about 30 seconds. It has two way cylinders that pressure down. I took the check valves out and they seem to be working. What do you think the problem is ?

maybe could help me..my pump is used on a tow rig aswell every is working but my wheni need to open l arms it doesn't open makes a clicking sound like it's out of fluid
It sounds like one of your Solenoid valves is bad. You’ll have to figure out which one controls the arms. If it’s clicking the solenoid it self should be fine but I would check and make sure you have a good 12 volts to it. The valve threads into the block and the solenoid fits onto it you remove the solenoid and then unthread the valve. The pressure relief valve it’s just for Max pressuring you shouldn’t need to adjust it it’s been working
My solenoid just clicks when I press my buttons... And motor does not come on when I connect it directly. IT'S BRAND NEW!!! NEVER BEEN USED... COULD IT BE VOLTAGE? BATTERY IS NOT COMPLETELY AT 12V ON THE VOLT METER
I will check your battery. Make sure it’s good and all your connections are good. If that all checks out I would say you have a brand new defective pump.

So, if I'm going to be running a cylinder on a dump trailer with a max working pressure of 2200psi, what would be the best pressure to set the pump at?
You will want to set it to 2200. That way you don’t blow out your cylinder when it hits the end.
All cly have a safe rating and best not to ever go above it😊
Wow cool; is their a way to speed up the pump too lift a little quicker ☝️😁
No there’s no way to speed up the pump if it’s an electric one.
Mine is a double acting and has 2 ports. 1 with cap the other without. Do you know which is which?
you’ll have to find a hydraulic schematic for that particular pump, or check with the manufacture.

It should only have one pressure relief/adjustment the other one might be just a plug.
Are the pressure the same going an down my trailer up is strong coming down has little power to lift anything up on the end of the trailer?
They should be same. If there not you probably have a bad solenoid.

Is it electric solenoid control for the down function?
Yes bud, basically same as yours but mine has square oil reserve.
There’s no way to adjust electric valve You might need to try to find one with a higher flow rate.
