  • In this Blender Grease Pencil tutorial, we'll use the Weight Paint Mode to blend the vertex group weight values from 0 to 1 to achieve visually appealing deformations. We'll also look at how to add weight to a vertex group manually using the assign and remove options in Edit Mode. We'll briefly look at how I've used masks to set up the character's eyes.
    By the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to:
    Use Weight Paint mode with Grease Pencil objects
    Assign points to Vertex Groups
    Test your rig's weight paints
    Use masks with a rig
    Adjust your brush for blending weights

    Rigging 2D is much more complicated than in 3D, it is because all the points are just on one surface and therefore compacter than in euclidian space, this makes weight paint much more difficult. I know what I am talking about, I made the same model - a bird - once in 2D and 3D...
