It's not the laws fault if the law is not being obeyed.

Has anyone had a chance to interview the father of the killer to ask is he mentioned he had killed people in the church and why?
That came up on mainstream news earlier today. He called his father from his car to tell him he'd been shot and probably wasn't going to make it. Not sure if he told him he'd shot others. The Air Force really dropped the ball on this by not entering his domestic violence record and incarceration record in a national database which allowed him to purchase an AR550.
I think we could have prevented many sufferings, destruction, and distress if our Gov can just compare notes and talk with other Government agencies.

The most sickening part of this is that Emily and her mom and other little sister that was killed in this shooting is that Emily was in my second grade class while this happened and we had to have a talk and of course I cried she was my best friend! Her brother survived but I am sick and tired of this!

One of the most frightening things about this is I had forgotten about this. There seems to have been so many of these in America that you forget a mass shooting. How messed up is that. In most countries in "the civilised world" what ever that means this is a tragedy, but in America it is almost just a statistic now unfortunately. Something has traumatic as this should stick in your mind but they all just seem to blur into one. Sad :(

Very sad story -- one of so many needless killings that take place; I literally cannot comprehend what causes people to do such things, and why predominantly in the US? I cannot believe it has to do solely with the availability of weapons. There must be something in the psyche of the 'land of the free' that needs to be addressed. Yes it is. I live in Canada and I don't own a gun, I don't want to own a gun, but I sure would want that man with the rifle close to me in an instance like this! I used to think all the Americans wanting to own guns was wrong and that no good would come of it.... The problem isn't the guns themselves per se, its about the mentally ill people that have them. One Senator said this is a mental health issue. Yes he is right , but these mass shooters are mentally deranged/ill people and these shooters always seem to have access to these type's of weapons. I am beginning to see the need to carry a gun in America. But with that being said, you cant tell me the NRA and some senators have lobbyists ensuring gun laws will be the status queue but these guys really need to get their heads out of their money vaults and realise it will take years to reign in some of the gun controls, make it harder to buy from private sales. Have a waiting period before the individual get the fire arm. Run THOROUGH back round checks......IDK but without that man with the rifle and then the man with the car that took off speeding after the mass shooter, things could have ended so much worse. He had a Kevlar vest and the helmet and an ARSENAL of ammunition. The poor man shot and wounded the shooter and had that not happened how many people would he have gone all to kill?? Call for Gun reforms or: stop going to church, or going to open air concerts or sending our children to school to be slaughtered or go out and live our lives for fear of crazed gunmen looking to out do the last mass shooter.....In my humble Canadian opinion (sorry), Is better gun control with application process and it should take weeks to make sure the person passes and more in depth screening procedures. IDK, this is the first time I have thought to educate myself so I can know both sides.But as people, we should not be afraid to go out at night, or wonder if we will make it home.
