This is definitely one of those "why didn't anybody think of this before" kinds of ideas, it's BRILLIANT!!!!!! I own three Tisas 1911's already, but I'll keep this kit in mind for my next challenge, and of course, when things cool off here in Texas. I work on my stuff in my garage and it's gonna be a sauna in there until late October!
Very cool!! I own two tisas 1911's, and both have been absolutely perfect. I've wanted to take on the task of assembling my own 1911, so this looks like a fantastic option. Again, very cool!
We feel this kit should take some work but nothing super hard. Our goal is to ease new people into the 1911 world before making them addicts looking at a solid block of steel with a CNC in their garage.
I've beem a big fan of the Tisas 1911s for years, and i have to admit - although this video is obly 6 months old, this is the first time I've heard anything about you guys offering build kits. These *should* do well, but I'm afraid that there's not been enough word on the street about these kits yet.
You guys are really kicking ass! I took a gamble on the Duty Model and it outshoots my other gun. The tolerances are so tight it really does take about 150 rounds to make it have some play. After that some Ballistol and it works like a champ.
Y’all should’ve finished the frame even just a simple rust prevention stainless finishing or Blueing, to build a 1911 from scratch is hard enough, I wanted to get a kit too.
A few questions How much? When will a Frame with a Pic Rail be offered? Comment..Wilson Combat Spring Kit, Sights and Grips of your choosing ..then Trigger Job from the get go. Love'n the Labor of Love concept.
@@sds_arms Amazing...I had just told a friend about this video and he expressed an interest in a 10mm option. I pointed out that you are likely floating this as a Trial Balloon to see if a Kit Gun creates an interest?...real 1911 fans will certainly be interested...and a 15% cost savings for an incomplete weapon has an appeal too.
Question:If I want to get a Tisas 1911 A1 US Army 45 WG (SKU: 10100523) or Tisas 1911 A1 US Army 45 (SKU: 10100520) Without the markins "Model 1911 U.S. Army", can be made?
@@sds_arms I have a question: I want the Tisas 1911 A1 US Army 45 WG (SKU:10100523) or the army But I want it without the markings "Model 1911A1 U.S. Army" on the side Can I have it?
Are you going to offer a builders kit without front slide serrations? Or can I purchase a slide without front slide serrations as part of the kit if I want it? In my personal opinion I think forward slide serrations are dangerous and ugly same goes for attachment rails. Also are you going to do a stainless steel builders kit? You said the current builders kit was Carbon steel in the white so I figured I'd ask.

I would love to see a 9mm kit with ramped barrel and frame 1913 rails. Instant buy! Looking forward to future kits.
Maybe this fall depends on how these do.

My first 1911 was a Tisas and it won’t be my last! Great product, great value

Do I really enjoy my Tisas 1911 .45acp? Absolutely!
Our plan is working then!

@@sds_arms Lol! "Dremel, never heard of her.." 😆

I love this idea, would be interested in other. Model
What is the grip safety radius?
do you ship internationally?
Ok. Where to purchase these? And can different calibers, slide/barrel lengths, etc, be ordered, and if so, how? I am VERY interested!

@@fastford2128 We just want people to get into 1911's more. Let get some folks working with their hands making something awesome.
Is this still available? I can't find it on the website..
yep. search for "Tisas Duty Builders Kit" on our website.
Can we get these in a Commander size and perhaps maybe a Bobbed frame.
Maybe.
@@sds_arms I sure would love to have a Builder’s Kit 1911 Commander in 9MM bobbed.

Are the small parts drip in, or do they need to be fitted?
There is minor fitting required for this kit.

@@sds_arms Thanks.
Tisas please send me one of these. I can complete a 2011 build
Should you need to fit it lost me. My luck it will need to be fitted and I'll find a way to screw it up. Murphy's law.
