Why do we do this to ourselves? My house (not a narrowboat, tbf), never looked better than when it was about to be sold. Watching you tweak and finish up those little spots took me right back through all the time you spent building Sloe Patrol, including the new base plate and all the drama over that. Seems at the same time like yesterday and like a decade ago. Love the croque madame! (Hi Bert!)
Border collie? Masquerading as an English mastiff? I may be mistaken, perhaps he's not a mastiff, but he's certainly no border collie. In any event, whatever he is, he's a handsome wee devil.
Well done getting on with finishing touches and the food looked great ti good job James you tc now all the best to you and family from us the oldies 👍🤗🤗🤗🤗
Great getting jobs finished. Im sick of painting right now. Ive done the lounge bedroom bathroom downstairs loo and nearly finished the kitchen at my sons house then ive got 1 coat of oxide to do on my boat roof then 3 or 4 coats of top coat all over the whole boat. Only then can i get back on my boat and get inside decorated. I wish i had your wood working skills but im learning.
Great, just great! Or should I say, bloody hell mate, now all of the crap I’ve been putting off no longer have an excuse! Geez, what a pal……….. Just kidding, looks great. 😂
James mate . the definition of the word boat ...is. Bung on another thousand ..??? Unfortunately nothing is more accurate when you have any sort of boat... They have always been a money pit just when you think you have finished the boat something else pops up.that needs repairing... Over the years I have owned a number of narrow boats. The last one was new however it was not long before things needed repairing. But from experience I knew that this would happen.. With the vibration from the engine and the moisture that occurs .. things have a tendency to brake. But this is part and parcel of living on a narrow boat. Anyway James keep safe and well mate
Hi James, I’ve been enjoying your vlogs for a couple of years now and am extremely interested in your ideas for project 58. We are currently looking for a NB and want to go gas free so induction hob and air fryer together with a reflex diesel stove looks ideal. From the research you’ve done what sort of power draw will the induction hobs and air fryer pull?? I was hoping to avoid using a power bank and rely on solar with just a generator or power bank as a backup in winter. I’ve asked around a fair bit but haven’t really had any replies from those with first hand experience. Thanks in advance and keep up providing such great vlogs. Cheers
Hey I’ll be using my induction hobs and air fryer through the domestic battery bank onboard. A 3kw inverter will power it all easily. The induction hobs max at 2.8kw but cook at around 1.5kw The air fryer draws 1.8kw so again a 3kw inverter will suffice. I’ll be using the power bank as back up or just run the engine I’ll try to show it all to help Glad you like the vids - that means a lot to me Have a great weekend
Thanks James, in the research you’ve done have you identified any particular make or model of induction hob that is more energy efficient than most or are they all pretty similar?? I guess the key is to ensure that the battery bank and solar/ back up charging source are man enough for the 3kw inverter. Cheers
@@colinsharp462 it’s about wattage - AEG seem pretty good but some are rated at 7KW!!! From research making a spat Bol on an induction job will cost you around 1kw - boiling water and cooking the Bol. It will be like managing anything else on the boat. Maybe cook earlier and warm at night - just make sure you have a backup power source to charge the batts
Jeez! Your floor needs cleaning! 😂

The Devils in the detail! That'll be a great little boat for someone. Thumbs up for the wafer thin ham and now I know who buys pre grated cheese! :)
The sink in the bathroom, the boxing in would look great fully tiled , save you having to repaint it when it gets grubby .
Think slow patrol is gonna be a project for someone 🤔
2 years, that’s gone very fast James, you certainly have come a long way in that time,👍
If you put a small dish towel under your cutting board. The board won't slide and protect the other surface. Lol! Nice job!

Other than the soft egg, it sounds good.
Great, just great! Or should I say, bloody hell mate, now all of the crap I’ve been putting off no longer have an excuse! Geez, what a pal……….. Just kidding, looks great. 😂

The idea of an "Air-fryer" is you don't need to pre-heat your oven.....
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
