I bought four of these cameras and would NEVER buy them again. I am now switching out to a different camera. The near constant connection failures and complete lack of customer support soured me. Just my opinion.
Thanks for this tip Ed. We are thinking this may be a direction that we want to go. This spring I was busy with fieldwork and farming. Once we got the crops planted, I went out one morning just as our spring mushroom season was coming to an end. I was in a place in my woods that no one would have any my business being there. I was checking for tree damage on the bluff above our spring. I spotted a dried up mushroom and went over to look further and discovered a whole bunch of little stumps where other mushrooms had been picked. We were victims of trespassers. Our property taxes jumped up 30% this year and I wasn’t very happy about someone just helping themselves to free roaming of my property without my permission.
Thanks VERY much. I was getting brain-fog looking at videos of 4g sims, and where to get them, until i cut to the chase and looked at 4g connectivity security camera, which i need for a remote property. Your searching for the camera immediately put me at ease, and the information provided was exactly as needed. I will look for a 4g sim provider, and then jump into buying one of these awesome cameras. Look forward to more from your cluttered garage.
We are fulltime Rvers and have a chunk of land that we are developing as a base and this might be just what we need to keep an eye on things while we are on the road.
Yep. I have a ReoLink wifi cam and I like it. When we didn’t have sun for months I did have to get it to the house to charge via usb! Your pup ..Hatchi???… had me intently watching a black critter strolling behind you! Lol. Good job Ed. Make sure to share your wildlife captures with us! 👍👍👍
When it was slow to trigger on the deer, maybe you have the camera set up just at it's range detection limit. I have 6 of these and they detect within 2 seconds....almost immediately. I have noticed that farther out the movement is, slower the camer is. Good video!!!
It reminds me of SURVIVOR when contestants are looking for a hidden idol. If you watch that show. I thought your mic was a small critter on your chest. The camera looks great!
It's crazy what can be done with cellular these days! I live in a rural area and have been able to use cellular internet from HomeFi to work from home and or while traveling in my RV.
REOLINK is good for delayed recording. I have two different ones around my home ( including the newest PRO cam) and cars pass before it starts to record and I only hear their exhaust as they are leaving the area. I think it's a .5 sec. delay......
That bright white really makes it stand out for vandals and thieves. Can I get a data plan so I could run maybe 4 of these off of the same contract, reducing my cost of data per camera?
Thanks for the video very usefull. But you should inform people the camera WILL STOP CHARGING when it is below around 38°F. Depending where you live, it could be a problem......
Not supported globe telecom SIMCARD in the philippines..I try reolink go plus insert globe SIMCARD not registered on network. But insert my android smartphone should have registered lte 4g connection
Sorry, I'm not tech savvy. Can you view the feed live on your cellphone or only a recording? Also since it's network based that means you can be far away and receive the feed on cellphone?
Can you give me an estimate of how much data it will use in one month, using it for about 6 hours/day? In my country the operator only has plans of up to 15 GB/month.
Those are some beautiful woods Ed. Looks like the Pacific northwest...I thought I saw Sasquatch, but it was only Hatchi (sp?)! I'm pleased with my ReoLink (wireless) cameras.
I mounted mine to a treated board about 20 inches long with camera and the solar panel above it and put a strap on it, that way i can put it around the tree and move it any time i want. Obviously, i use mine for deer hunting. If you leave it mounted to the tree directly, in about 2 years, you won't be able to take it down because the tree will grow around the screws.
When you get the cellular data plan and a Sim card, can you use 2 cameras with one Sim? Or do you need 2 separate Sim cards. Wondering if I need to buy two 4g plans or can both cameras use one? Thanks in advance. 🙏🏽
The only way to really use one 4G data connection for multiple cameras is to have a cellular hotspot device (or old cellphone), have WiFi cameras near it, and then have some sort of solar situation to power the hotspot and possibly the cameras if you don’t opt for solar cameras.
3 out of 3 cameras stopped recording after 6-8 months. Reolink replaced one that totally died within the warranty. I still have 3 out of 3 reolinks that refuse to record. If warranty for reolink was 12 months, that China company (which is where all our data goes to per their policy - China) would be out of business. Comments should be limited to after 12 months use. Most things work for a while.
Great video, great review. NEW SUB I have one question about the annual subscription; Will that cover you for the entire year Regardless of how much data you use?
My 4g Reolink network has been a disaster. Whenever the cameras die or have poor signal for extended periods they need to be pulled down and reset manually... which has only even worked 1/10 of the time. I literally need to try 10 or even 100 times to actually get them to reset. Unbelievable how poor the firmware is on these. Oh, and I live in a pretty populated area. Cell signal isn't great, but its not a dead zone.. usually 2 bars or so. About to just nix the entire thing. Reolink customer support has been worthless.
Bad camera. Use it in my backyard. Sensitivity high records all day shadow motions and missed big truck that manuvered in yard and dumped dirt down. You can not belive how mutch it not record. In my case all important moments are left out instead hours of shadows and light movement recordings. Not recomending.
This looks cool .some scumbag keeps nicking the flowers off my sisters grave and I been looking for something like this.when I catch the scum bags who nicking them I will be exposing them with the footage .thanks Ed 👍👍👍🫶

Yeah same problem here. Worked ok for a few months then just randomly started doing the annoying voice prompts.
What camera did you buy instead
@oneal94 what cameras did you go to?
Tell us what camera you replaced them with.
What are you getting instead?

Thank you! That woods is Hachi’s playground!
I just got the wifi version this week. Very cool systems. Have a great weekend!
Nice review. Great tip on Flexiboom. We just ordered for delivery tomorrow. A way overdo measure for our rural place.
Thank you!
Nice cool set up. Going to look into Reolink camera system. Thanks for the video.

It works fine on my home. Don't know how it would work out in the woods far away st another place.

Question
Without the data plan or SIM card can the camera record and just store the data on the SD, so that later in the day I can replay the footage?
Good question! I really don’t know the answer. Thinking yes?
Sorry, I'm not tech savvy. Can you view the feed live on your cellphone or only a recording? Also since it's network based that means you can be far away and receive the feed on cellphone?
Yes you can bring up a live view. Thank you!
Can you use this in the home, if charged outside?
I don’t see why not. You can also plug it directly into a USB power supply.
Can you give me an estimate of how much data it will use in one month, using it for about 6 hours/day? In my country the operator only has plans of up to 15 GB/month.

Hi , do you mean that you have a sim card pre-installed with out paying monthly fee?
You need a pre-paid SIM card in this camera. See the link for more info.
How far apart can you be to still be able to see notifications of trespassers and view it on video
Since it works off its own cellular (with a pre paid SIM card) you can be anywhere at all and see the feed or review footage.
what do you mean cellular , do i have to buy cellular sim card like a phone ?
For this camera yes you do, but there’s no contract. Check out flexiboom.com for info.
Can you put any SIM card in it or do you have to use the flexiboom one ?? 👍
You can use others. Flexiboom seems to offer a pretty good deal though.
@@MyClutteredGarage thanks a lot Ed much appreciated 👍👍
can you add an external power source?
It has a micro USB connection so you could add a power supply instead of the solar panel if you want. 👍
I mounted mine to a treated board about 20 inches long with camera and the solar panel above it and put a strap on it, that way i can put it around the tree and move it any time i want. Sorry to be dense, but who/what provides the wifi please? Is this camera its own wifi hotspot? Thank you
Hi. Installing the pre paid FLEXIBOOM SIM card (purchased separately) the camera functions through cellular service.
@@MyClutteredGarage Ah right, thank you for your very prompt reply!
Does anyone know if this security camera would work in South America?
I don’t know the answer, but that probably would depend on your network Sim card.
@@MyClutteredGarage Thank you
When you get the cellular data plan and a Sim card, can you use 2 cameras with one Sim? Or do you need 2 separate Sim cards. Wondering if I need to buy two 4g plans or can both cameras use one? Thanks in advance. 🙏🏽
As far as I know, each camera needs its own Sim card.

Can you put a different SIM card? Or has to be from the one on the box?
Pretty sure a SIM from any carrier would work. The one I linked in the description works well and is a good value.
Anyone know the price range on the sim data plans?
You can check them out here. Thanks for watching!
flexiboom.com/product/sim-card/
u didnt show where to put the SIM CARD
One more question, do you have to charge up the camera first or does it come fully charged
Always charge it fully first. Thank you.
Will this cause your phone bill to go up?
No. You purchase a stand alone pre paid SIM card.
What if only cell service around is Verizon
I would reach out to Flexiboom and ask, or choose a different SIM carrier.
If I have a Verizon phone can I connect and watch my camera live with flexiboom?
You can download the Reolink app to your phone and watch live.
Mine only detects motion from 10 feet away
What happens when the cellular network goes down ?
You need cellular for it to work properly.
$6.99 a month cloud storage fee plus $10.00 a month T-Mobile sim card. Kind of a high price.
I have no cell phone so will it work for me?
It helps to have a phone with the app but I think you can review footage on the computer.
3 out of 3 cameras stopped recording after 6-8 months. Reolink replaced one that totally died within the warranty. I still have 3 out of 3 reolinks that refuse to record. NEW SUB
I have one question about the annual subscription; Will that cover you for the entire year Regardless of how much data you use?
Thank you. I think there’s still a data cap, but it’s really generous so it probably won’t be a problem. Welcome!
And is it water proof
It’s an outdoor camera so it’s weather resistant.
Where do you buy them?
🫵😂

Useless , no sample of video from the camera.
Hi. Watch at the 3:16 mark.
@@MyClutteredGarage this camera does not come with a SIM card?
No. You have to purchase a prepaid SIM. There are many options buy Flexiboom was the best deal for me.
