Congratulations to Hsieh and Wang! I was cheering for Fernandez and Townsend - but the Chinese players were better in the second and third set.
One thing bothered me to no end. I watched the match on Tennis Channel. Even though both Fernandez and Townsend had magical moments and blunders in equal measure, the American commentators gave credit and praised (the American) Townsend all the time, while criticizing (the Canadian) Fernandez incessantly. Leaving aside the rah-rah-rah "America is the greatest" etc...the American commentators tried to sow discord between the two wonderful girls and friends (Leyla and Taylor).

You'll always ended up with good results if you partnered up with Hsieh in doubles, cause she's just too good at the net. It's up to her partner if they can serve and defense cause Hsieh didn't have great serve.

No she doesn’t have a good serve but makes up for it with her placement.

It depends on what’s the def. of good serve. If just pure power, then Hsieh has no chance, however the location and angulation makes up for it.
