I've done something similar with my '68 Camaro. There are so many tell-tale items on these early cars. Do your homework and you can find ways of telling original from a fake. e.g. True SS Camaro cars has a different (and heavier) hood. Guys can put an SS hood on a car, but seldom will also change the hood springs to the SS version with two more spring turns factory installed for the heavier hood. Detective work is fun. Nice job to Graveyard.

When I was 18 yrs old, I ordered a 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye in B3 SuperBlue. It was a 318 cu inch and 3-speed on the console. I replaced the Carter carb with a Holley 500 2-barrel carb. It has a single exhaust, but I later replaced it with headers and dual exhaust. It came from the factory on May 17, 1972...I sold it on Ebay on Christmas 2005.

We've seen kind of a rebirth of the late 60s and early 70s golden age of muscle cars over the past decade or so, with the variety of unique challengers and chargers of today, as well as the various levels of power offered. The competition between the modern Camaros and Mustangs and Mopars is reminiscent of the late 60s and 70s too. But now we are having EVs and hybrids forced upon us and it's truly sad. Like Allysa said, cars used to be unique and interesting. Now we're seeing the same trend she's referring to, with today's auto industry now killing so many cars that people love so much and it seems just like she said, we'll all be driving cars that are like rental cars. Cookie cutter. It's a shame.
Yep….the Indians bought Chrysler and ran it into the ground just as they were really becoming great again. 20 years of rebuilding flushed down the toilet…..now Dodge makes one car, an electric POS named after an ugly AMC model from the 70’s that Stellantis happened to own the trademark to thanks to a deal done back in the 80’s when Chrysler bought out AMC/Jeep.
I like the old maniacs. Get them back too. You can afford it. Your on the television. Movie stars always make a lot-o-money. A thing I liked about Mopar stuff is the fact that all the screws are visible for you to tighten or remove. No bullshit. You can't find that on a GM. Not sure about Fords. One thing about Fords was that (and I'm talking about taking Crown Victoria cabs all over Manhattan) was that the ride was top-notch. Again, no bullshit.
This guy thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. I watched for a season or 2 and realized my spare time watching him left me feeling like I ate junk food and didn't feel that I gained anything other than an abundance of calories eating junk foods.
What the industry needs is a central database where people can go register their parts with serial numbers, so that people who are looking for those serial numbers have a good chance of finding them. Allysa needs to get a barcode scanner. That would be a huge timesaver for her instead of having to manually write down on a notepad what she needs to order.
Look for trouble hard enough and you're sure to find it. That's why if you buy a nice looking, nice condition, complete, finished car there's no need to be pulling it apart instead of enjoying it. Get things verified prior to purchase if that's what's important to you. If somebody wants to parachute in and buy it as is before you can complete your due diligence, so be it. Let them have it and get yourself a different one.
I agree but there's a limit to due diligence. It's not like you can go buy a car and before you make the purchase you pull the engine and or start removing paint to prove/disprove well hidden details. If the customer purchased a "numbers matching, restored car" and wanted to pay another garage to have a "show quality, numbers matching, factory restored" car than none of this could have been avoided within reason. If I had to guess, the customer probably purchased this from a car auction where the authenticity was "verified" before being sold. Which is probably why Mark mentioned the customer potentially (although not likely) taking legal action.

That’s the way they did it.
i used to watch this on one of the cable channels. Is it no longer on cable?
I love this show 'what could be better than a show devoted to Cuda's' Challenger's' etc . BUT 'I want to know once and for all 'are there going to be NEW episodes ? 'what is happening ? We cant keep watching the old one's forever (although I probably will) . If there has been any update on the situation 'I've missed it. I dont really expect any answer to this.
they do have a lot of old remake rewind shows that were so bad they missed the trash can and the problem is here at stupid motor car restore is goof ball mark marmon and the crew over charging everyone that wants a car back to life.
The new shows for 2023 are being shown now on Motor Trend. They won’t be available on RUclips until after the season ends.
@@justpray365 Thanks for that.
Darren really made good tv mark you should see if he would come back for a build or season
I learned something new every time I see the show
*ALYSSA* *IS WHY I WATCH IM NOT GOING TO LIE* *CATER*
*ITS ALWAYS BEEN GIRLS & CARS* *CATER*
The ignorance and arrogance of the main guy is astounding. Mopar guys are blinded by their preferences. A bodies have been setting record sales numbers at auction for a while now.
Yeah, I've been seeing those multi-million dollar A bodies across the block every weekend.. 😂🤣😝
Idk who would want to wear a bunch of weird makeup and play drums for a band called Dog Knot, but at least he’s got good taste in cars.
What is your favorite slipknot song (other than duality, or wait and bleed, everyone has heard these songs). Mine is "People = Sh*t. Cool tune, though very abrasive and agressive.
43 minute video that is about 33 minutes of nothing to do with the video title and they don't actually "inform" anyone of anything.
He cant need money bad enough to clickbait yet still does?
says a lot about him wether he knows or cares.
Glad I didnt waste time watching
I like the 68' Chargers and 70' Cuda's but NOTHING tops a 69' or 70' fastback Mustang....
My....71 426 hemi Charger.....Thank you
i like all muscle cars, mustangs, challengers, and Z28 two tone or black camero's
It's like if Michael Scott ran a shop
Mark - is it possible to get a tribute green over green ‘70 Charger with a 383 4 speed? How many hundreds of thousands of dollars might it cost?
Why did they stop building cool cars in the '80's? Two words. Federal regulation.
high fuel prices and insurance rates were high, the customers wanted the cars, the mfg big wigs got scared and cowed down and started building junk, what is bad for sure is the little cars and little motors burned more fuel and were not dependable at all, they would ride like the little red wagon i had as a kid.
Carter. Thats why all the mfr went to China, it had to.
93 Toyota PU i bought new was proof. Paper thin sheetmetal crap suspension trans fell apart first few mos etc. Quality, forget it.
That was the last one I ever owned.
producer shouldve been nice and played him Snuff
Still waiting on a follow up on this episode
I'd love to see you do some Australian Chryslers \Valliants,
you should open up a repair shop in Australia you could be rich in no time fixing those 4 wheel drive jeep looking rides..
I wonder about an 8 barrel carb setup. Not enough room?
Why the clickbait title? You don't have to trick people into watching.
Come on Mark....it's ALL about the MONEY. You ain't foolin nobody.
"JIM ROOT FROM SLIPKNOT IS NOT HAPPY: MARK INFORMS HIM THAT HIS 150K 'CUDA IS NOT NUMBERS MATCHING!!!"
Would have been nice if this actually happened in the episode.
Where's the part where Jim Root "is not happy"?
Daughter is 🔥
I really want to like this channel. Its just too cable tv network production for me.
That's because all of the videos are produced by a cable tv network for a tv show
you are so right, this is the worst product on the channel, the reason its off the air is no one is interested .
@@3334-n7s That's why the second half of season 15 just started and they have had 15 seasons, because no one is interested.
@@johnkramer7161 the show is a rerun mostly same old rederic and everyone i know don't watch 5 minutes of the new shows and if you want to buy a car there is no one there to call, they don't answer the phone.
@@3334-n7s That doesn't change anything.
I like when they take cars apart & put back together but I don't like when Marks
All the numbers were punched in to the same depth. If they had scratched off a number, it would have to be filed down flat to that depth, leaving that number .1 mm lower than the others. You can't just erase it level. There were No signs of filing down or sanding ...?!
It's a good episode I love Mopars.
I love Slipknot one of the best bands around today
Great videos everyone!😊👍👍😎
This guy was identifying engine codes since he was a little kid, so he says. What BS!
The video flickering effect is quite annoying. Great show but poor video editing. I love the trivia questions!
They stopped making decent cars here in the 70s now we do not make cars at all just assemble some from imported parts.
Just imagine if Mopar had used a full frame.
More dusters. More dusters
My first car.
The daughter should know better. Cars stopped being made good because of the same reason all things are jacked up now: centralized federal control of everything. It was called CAFE standards.
WOW!!! very good show.
About time you start using a door dolly.
