@@ReedTimmerWxthose Goodyear duratrac tires u had on it were garbage. Up north they are used on logging roads and are constantly punctured by rocks and have 0 traction in mud. I was not surprised you constantly slid in the ditch with them. There are continental tires rated for the weight of a commercial vehicle that will have way better ride and puncture resistant. Keeping them mobile shouldn't be too hard they are just GMC trucks under the body. I would eliminate the electric roll up storm windows for manual slide up ones that are fail proof.

Honestly think the tiv was better an stronger this was made to get close to tornados the time was designed to go in them

I've waited a long time for this! HEY Dr. Timmer, you should put little tornadoes on the doors under the window for each time a dominator gets inside for an intercept, Like a fighter plane! You could put the rating or make bigger funnel stencils for each Fujita scale. Just an idea, would be awesome!
They actually did this for the original TIV, but not for the Dominators (yet).

@@helicitywx That’s good to know. Didn’t know Sean sold TIV 2 but I do remember him saying that he was done chasing after his film was done.
@@RodknockRhett it’s currently owned by a guy named Robert Clayton! Search up “a tour of TIV 1” and you’ll find a video! TIV 1 is currently in bad shape, but they are attempting to restore it at the minute!
It’s been my dream to see one of the tivs doms or dows if I hade a wish I would wish to see them I love tornados
I use to watch the show all the time as a kid. Just recently rewatched it to. Im glad to see these cars back out on the road

Can’t wait for 2023 storm chasing season! Should be as good season especially with the dominators out in the field. Can’t wait!
My adrenaline seems drawn to those vehicles again, 13 years later. Awesome seeing them still rolling.
The Dominators are going to dominate in 2023. They ought to be in that new Twister movie.
The original TIV is also supposed to see storms again. Was found and is being rebuilt by it's new owner.

We just had 15 tornados drop from a single storm a few days ago in my area in east Texas. This severe weather is getting worse every year.
I got goosebumps when Dom 1 fired up, dominating dominating dominating dominating dominating dominating, It's game On ! Never stop chasing..

Let's go congratulate Reed back with the dominators even tho they have issues we all hope that both them will make it through many more tornado chases and intercepts with tornados I bet they will be on the road in no time chasing more tornados.

I remember becoming interested in weather back in kindergarten/1st grade and watching Storm Chasers on Discovery in the computer lab. I loved watching the TIV and Dominator intercept tornadoes and I wished that I could ride in them once. Thank you Reed Timmer for inspiring me and I hope to see you out in 2023 for my first year of chasing!

It's amazing to see them all back together, cannot wait for spring 2023! Especially because it's going to be the 10 year anniversary since Tornado Chasers was shot!
There were 4 Dominators.
@@sassylady2001 I heard the fourth was lost in a hurricane in Florida. The storm surge was coming in and Reed had to abandon it to save his life.
So happy the dominators will be making a return. Keep doing what you do Reed. You have inspired so many to get into meteorology and who knows when you will reach the next you.
Good to see the Dominators will be freshened up and back in service. Hopefully more accomplishments to come for the Dominators.

17 miles per gallon! Dominator 3 at least!

17 MPG is good, but Dominator 3 is diesel. I'm guessing it's a lot less in Dom 1 and 2.
I remember when I first met you in South Dakota in 2012 and I got some pictures with the dominator in Wall Drug. The storms that week and seeing the dominator really got me into weather. Hope to see you again someday!
Seeing these brings back some memories. I remember back in the day when the first dominator appeared on the scene. You've come a long way Reed and it is awesome to see your journey. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Feels like I’m a kid again seeing this, I’m in the back half of my 20s now but I remember watching your show as a kid with my dad, gave me my love for severe weather, storm chasing, and engineering which is what I went to college for and do for a living now. I have seen the Dominater 1 a couple of times in the Cornhusker state.
Thank you for you and your crew for what you all do for the research of tornado's and because of you all for what you are doing for the warning times to help keep people safe as possible and out of harms way of the path of a storm.
This brings a little tear to my eye! I have followed you and the Dominator brand right from the very beginning. It's great to see these vehicles again, and hopefully spruced up ready to go in the spring. All the best from a cold UK.

I had to look it up. The original TIV is also being restored too.
TIV2 is in operation as well with a different owner, not sure if that guy wants to do some proper intercepts. Hasn’t really been a thing for 10 years, I’d assume from El Reno.
Out of all three Dom's I think #2 is my favorite, can't wait to see it back out in the field, Reed you are awesome and I can't wait for 2023 chase season
I stayed a single night in Norman Oklahoma to trade vehicles with my family across the country. We saw either this vehicle or one like it while there.
It was by far the most interesting thing we saw in Oklahoma.

Me and my brother who passed away in September watched your Storm Chasers tv series all the time. He was a big weather buff and loved watching the changing weather and recording local records on his station. Nice to see the Dominators back again. I watch your live streaming video and find it fascinating. Good luck in your future endeavors and please be safe.
I am glad to see you back out chasing. I had the honor of seeing these and TIV in May 2013 in Norman OK. I was there for disaster relief with the Red Cross. These vehicles are nothing short of an engineering masterpiece.

This is so freakin cool to see come back to life! I learned of Reed when these came out in 2009 when I was living in Memphis, TN!
This inspired me back in 2011 -12 when I was a kid to be a storm chaser. I was obsessed with your show Reed, I’m so hyped for the return. My heart is full of excitement for you reed. This brought my inner child happiness of storm chasing back alive again. CANT WAIT TILL SPRING 2023!!!!

@Reed Timmer I don't know if you are going to be running both at the same time or not but if you are not going to be running a big crew station them in certain areas where you can drive car to and park it and get in tornado vehicle. You have them strategically placed it won't cost as much gas and maintenance 🤷

My family was on vacation one June and saw 1of the dominaters in Wyoming, my son will start meteorology School at UNC Charlotte fall of 2023. We watched all the storm chasing shows we could. Glad to watch on RUclips now. Thanks Reed for your passion that made my son to decide to make weather his career. Happy Chasing

Is there a gofund or something to help repair these legends? The sponsorship potential of these vehicles is amazing there should be a line up of companies wanting there products and names to be attached to these vehicles for the 2023 season! From lighting to radar and navigation. Tires and fluid additives 😊 is there any possibility of adding starlink through the camera dome? It was pretty useless for any camera footage. I watched the entire Storm and tornado series and like once the dome camera was used. If starlink could connect through lexan to satellite the internet would always be working.

I’m just so happy your getting the doms back. After your show I thought they were gone forever. Iv seen them parked out where you picked them up. “I take 35 a lot” but to see you bring them back to life is honestly would make 12 year old me shit himself with excitement. I've been living in Oklahoma for the last 20 years and first heard of Reed on Storm Chasers. When he joined up with KFOR is about the same time I moved to OKC and I used to see the Dominators in town from time to time. They're kinda famous, but especially so around here. Gary England, David Payne, Mike Morgan, and Reed Timmer were the guys to watch then things turned south.
Seeing the Dominators again fills me with such nostalgia.
I remember seeing the Dominators on TV as a kid a long time ago and then I never heard or saw them again, but I am glad to see they’re back! They’re super legendary and iconic! Can’t wait to see them in action!
Awesome to think about how important these vehicles are. Not only have they inspired people to this science, but how man lives have the Dominator team saved with intercepting and calling in the Tornadoes so people could get out of the way.

Sweet!!! Going back to the bread and butter of summer storms, can’t wait for the chase to begin. It the adventure of the intercept regardless of success that keep people glued to the tv and plan around airings of seasons, the sheer aww of one on natures phenomena that is so breath taking along with rendering aid to victims during and after the chase which is a great public service.
