9,000 miles ,A quarter mile @ A time. Wow love the originality,I guess w/ the automatic a tach wasn't too nessocary.I've seen you @ that location a few times.
it depends. some racers would shift the t-flite manually and go up a gear about 100 RPM before redline, bc that'd be that fraction of a second for the shifter to move and all that..& she'd shift right on. ofc the 727 itself shifted in miliseconds :) lots of ppl bought a tach, rather than going with the factory one..y'know, the big Sun Super tach..or maybe a model with a shift light..

Sweet Mopar! I was slightly disappointed that it had an automatic transmission with column gearshift rather than a manual 4 speed transmission. Other than that, the car is in excellent condition, and the engine sounds healthy. I never saw a totally removable hood on a regular super stock car from the factory. That's a first for me. Interesting example as always Lou!

I'm with the kid. The horn is my favorite part. That interior is funny. So odd to have the interior in that blue with the exteriir being green. Is definitely unique. Love the accent on these guys. I very much dislike people who make fun of southern accents, and I am a Bostonian.
The ultimate sleeper! My all time favorite muscle car. And I am a general motor's guy. If I hit the Mega millions on Friday night I will be looking for an A12 Roadrunner!!👍👍👍

Amazing & simple..engineering excellence. Would like to hear more about the Hemi RR as my A12 in A4/M6S sat on the showroom floor of a dealership in Houston, TX next to an identical Hemi RR in A4/M6S. Been trying to find who may own it as I know that it is still around just haven't been told where in TX.
Very nice road runner. You see very few with the A12 package. I cant help but wonder if the low miles and great condition are a result of a larger track history than a single trophy.
@@loucostabile , thank you for the link. I have never seen a top like thatt. Cant beat a 440/6 and 4 speed. You also answered the question I had about the risers hold the hood up. I always wondered if they were factory or after market. Must be a good aftermarket item because lots of guys have them. Thanks again Lou.
What separated the 691/2 from the 69? What was the carburetion? Single four, dual quads, or tri power? Posi rear end? Just some details about this amazing car that I would have added to its story.
I don't know that anyone ever tested the top speed on an A12 Road Runner, but they would do at least 110-112 mph, (briefly.) Ronnie Sox got one up to those speeds at the end of a quarter mile.
Wisconsin, aye! yeah, abused and..idk what was worse, the hard use, or the salty roads. i bought a '71 Satellite Sebring Plus in '84 ('75 HP 440, 727, 3.55sg!) and there was already holes in the driver floor pans. ppl just didnt take the time to knock the snow off their boots even..constantly wet carpet all winter & mixed with salt yet and ofc being ravaged from underneath, as well. the steel was thick & fine grade...they just weren't protected as well as now with chip proof paint tech. ..much of the floor pan was barely protected at all, back then..even undercoating was only good a little while, then it served to trap moisture against the metal. ugghh..lol.
@@gzuzsavz I would say that it was about equal. The guys that bought these weren’t exactly interested in entering a fuel economy run. They beat the crap out of these cars, blowing up engines, clutches, you name it. They were often bought on a shoestring (several people in the small town in which I lived had purchased them). These cars were incredibly poorly engineered as far as keeping out rust, they no inner fenders so the tops of the outer fenders had holes in them and behind the rear wheels were rusted out letting water into the trunk accelerating the process. Ah, but they were fun cars.
@@dave1956 the days before rev limiters yeah..ppl were frikkin nuts. peak pwr in say a mopar BB was around 5,500rpm..revving higher you lost pwr, bc of massive recip losses. that..and at redline you had 4.5 quarts of oil circulating in the engine..if you ran just 1 quart low, you were partly sucking air..especially if cornering..it was of paramount importance to keep the crank case full. and change the oil often, if running them hard..the big yummy squishy oil molecules get destroyed and your oil loses it's protective effects fast in those conditions.

Yes I use it every time & I love the sound.
Great Car build for speed.

Awesome video!! I love the A-12 cars! Must have one when my 6 lucky lottery numbers in. That and a 67 Chevelle SS. Thanks Lou!!
Hi Vincent, Hope those numbers come up just right for you soon :-) You're welcome, Lou
9,000 miles ,A quarter mile @ A time. Wow love the originality,I guess w/ the automatic a tach wasn't too nessocary.I've seen you @ that location a few times.
Hi Richard, Happy to read you enjoy this car. Thanks for sharing what you notice. We'll if you seen me, you need to stop me and say hello, Lou
@@loucostabile no Lou, in your videos..
it depends. some racers would shift the t-flite manually and go up a gear about 100 RPM before redline, bc that'd be that fraction of a second for the shifter to move and all that..& she'd shift right on. ofc the 727 itself shifted in miliseconds :) lots of ppl bought a tach, rather than going with the factory one..y'know, the big Sun Super tach..or maybe a model with a shift light..
Nice !!! Thanks for the memories .
Hi PatrickSeanEarl, Happy to read this car brings back memories :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
Chrysler's Dick Maxwell nailed the A12 cars when he put this package together. And this is a gorgeous, unique example.

I had a friend that had one of these. It was a column shift Torqueflite with manual steering and manual drum brakes. It was not fun to drive!
Hi Michael, Happy to read you enjoy this "Sweet Mopar!" :-) Here is one more "totally removable hood A12 for you"....with a cool top too! Lou ruclips.net/video/-n7dPLOZBLY/видео.html
I'm with the kid. The horn is my favorite part. That interior is funny. So odd to have the interior in that blue with the exteriir being green. Is definitely unique. Love the accent on these guys. I very much dislike people who make fun of southern accents, and I am a Bostonian.
Happy to read you enjoy the horn on this car ....MEEP MEEP !
Your videos are awesome !
Lucky young man !
Hi Percy's, Happy to read you're enjoying the videos with me :-) My pleasure sharing with you. Lou

Best exhaust idle ever.....right Lou.

..Lou..trynta make an old man cry, over here? 🥺😭😭😭 Thank you so much!
Such a (..words..hmm..lol) 1 of 1, yes. A gem..Platinum with B7 blue int is just so superb a combo.
The drivetrain is as good as it gets, to me..my fave engine/induction and wow, a 4.10 geared Dana 60..ya feel those leaf spings just plant those 490 ft/lbs of torque, eh? Amazing & simple..engineering excellence. Police handling pkg..no foolin'..the Mopar cop cars could run down about any hotrodder...they would usually crash or blow up their engine trying, ahaha. #plymouthmakesit ❤

Robert - Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Would like to hear more about the Hemi RR as my A12 in A4/M6S sat on the showroom floor of a dealership in Houston, TX next to an identical Hemi RR in A4/M6S. Been trying to find who may own it as I know that it is still around just haven't been told where in TX.
Hi Lon, Well hopefully in time I'll get that car on the Channel too. Stay tuned, more Hemi's coming soon :-) Lou
If you have contact with the owner ask him where the Hemi car came from. Curious.
I thought all A12 cars came with the factory tach..i guess i learn something new every day..
Hi Eddie, I'm learning all the time too, and I find that to be fun :-) Lou
Not a mopar fan.. But this one is special.. Made for drag racing.. Nice car Lou.
Hi Yesenia, Happy to read you enjoy this "special" car :-) Lou
Very nice road runner. You see very few with the A12 package. I cant help but wonder if the low miles and great condition are a result of a larger track history than a single trophy.
Hi Greg, You're right not many A12's. Think you'll find this one interesting, Lou ruclips.net/video/-n7dPLOZBLY/видео.html
Wow, what a GREAT machine!!!

Did you ever find Brandon's hat? That's just a terrific car, but then again you know me.. it's Mopar or no car.

Amazing story.

What separated the 691/2 from the 69? What was the carburetion? Single four, dual quads, or tri power? Posi rear end? Just some details about this amazing car that I would have added to its story.
Hi Bill, I think the "M Code" 440 6 Barrel motor was a 1/2 year option addition. If a Viewer has knowledge, feel free to share, Lou
nice car , did you get to meet nick from nicks garage with his 70 challenger

I don't know that anyone ever tested the top speed on an A12 Road Runner, but they would do at least 110-112 mph, (briefly.) Ronnie Sox got one up to those speeds at the end of a quarter mile.
Hi Randy, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Any relation to Craig Breedlove?
Did not ask, so not sure.
Nice 😀
Hi Michael, Happy to read you think this car is "Nice" :-) Lou
These things absolutely were used and abused when new. By 1973 here in Wisconsin they were mostly rats. What a shame.
Hi Dave, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Wisconsin, aye! yeah, abused and..idk what was worse, the hard use, or the salty roads.
i bought a '71 Satellite Sebring Plus in '84 ('75 HP 440, 727, 3.55sg!) and there was already holes in the driver floor pans.
ppl just didnt take the time to knock the snow off their boots even..constantly wet carpet all winter & mixed with
salt yet and ofc being ravaged from underneath, as well.
the steel was thick & fine grade...they just weren't protected as well as now with chip proof paint tech. ..much of the floor pan was barely protected at all, back then..even undercoating was only good a little while,
then it served to trap moisture against the metal. ugghh..lol.
@@gzuzsavz
I would say that it was about equal.
😎
