Responding to Victimization in Thelma and Louise

This video looks at another case study through the use of genre analysis as part of your Film Studies. One of the greatest films to look at for insight on victim and crime genre is Thelma and Louise.
The crime committed in Thelma and Louise is a spontaneous response to deep-seated rage against social realities faced by women in particular situations. Thelma and Louise utilizes all of the Inner Form elements we’ve discussed and you can use them to guide your analysis.

In this kind of story, the victim is falsely accused or framed with a crime. While evading the law, the hero must then become a detective to clear him or herself of the crime.
