    Hi Tamara ! Absolutely love your videos and I hope in 9 years when I'm 60 my skin looks as good as yours.Ive only been using tretinoin for 5 years but have worn sunscreen for many years on my Celtic skin.(Which is also prone to dryness ) .Ive recently discovered Dr Sam Buntings cleanser which I love using at night,she also does a great flawless moisturiser.One question - What step do I use my Pixi glycolic I normally apply it after my face is washed & dry ,then I apply my Ordinary Niaciniamide & zinc followed by Ole Henrikson C Rush gel cream and then moisturiser if I feel my skins thirsty before finishing with my SPF 50 .Dont know if this is right?
    You're so lucky to have the beach on your doorstep. What a beautiful sunrise .... good for the soul .I've never been to the states but Minneapolis sounds lush.I live in the Highlands of Scotland ,all mountains lochs and trees but equally lush 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👌.Thank you for sharing ❣

    Just turned 50 last November and starting to finally put a skincare routine together. I'm from Ireland, have very fair skin so have always used suncream but am new to mineral ones. Its hard to narrow down choices for a routine when there is just so many options out there. Have heard a lot about timeless products so may try both you mentioned. Have never used chemical exfoliation so should give that a try...your skin looks lovely btw

      Thank you Loida! Great question! Yes, during the summer I use a less tinted, less expensive mineral sunscreen on my neck and Decollete...I enjoy both Cotz which is slightly tinted and also Sun Bum Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 untainted (20% zinc oxide). However, now that it is winter...I am quite covered with layers of warm clothes....lots of cashmere turtle necks so not really an issue in the Minnesota winter months!

    great advice about using one product at a time. And HOW SKIN LOOKS EVERY MORNING! Especially if using Retin A!
    I MUST cleanse my skin twice a day!
    I STOPPED COMPLETELY with my fav foaming cleanser!!! What a difference! Now...my face GLOWS like I've never seen. Wow. Wish I would have REALLY LISTENED TO THESE SMART LADIES! I need to order the second skin product. My regimen is almost exactly what I use except now I leave off my Cerave moisturizer, but may use again during the winter months. But for now, all these products give me adequate moisture. But, after seeing your Snow...I can see why you need additional Moisture for your face! But, adding in my Sunscreen...I am a sticky drenched mess. So on days I need to go out... I do not use any serums, only sunscreen. Then my makeup.
    Would love to know where Bosley sleeps at night??? In his special "bed" or with You??? My Grand doggie has Always slept with me, when I doggie-sit! They are So precious, aren't they?
    Thanks for your Up-date!!! I'm always curious!!!

      Hmm...a few ideas that might help (though I am not a professional and it might be time to consult a dermatologist?).
      Are you using too high of a strength? Go down in Strength, or frequency? Are you using too much? Keep it to pea sized max.
      Also, moisturize first...let that set, then apply RetinA. you can even mix RetinA in with moisturizer.
      Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
      Try a very mild chemical exfoliant such as lactic acid...perhaps even alternate one night RetinA, the next lactic Acid?
      Too many products? Keep your routine as simple as possible.
      Make sure you are drinking enough fluid, and eating enough healthy fats.
      Flaky skin can be so frustrating! I hope this helps!

    Do you use the Timeless Vit C every day? I can only tolerate it 3 (or maybe 4) times a week at most, w/o getting irritation. Think it’ll still be effective? Btw, you look bee-yoo-tee-full with or without lipstick! 😉

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  3 года назад +2

      Yes, luckily my skin tolerates it quite well. I do skip it on occasion for instance if I am experiencing irritation like I described after my windburn, or after I shave with my tinkle razors. I do think you will still receive benefits with less than daily use. However, there are less irritating Vitamin C derivatives you could try. Maybe even alternate L ascorbic Acid with some other Vitamin C derivative. I have tried and enjoyed both the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum (sodium ascorbic phosphate) and the Perricone MD (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate: THD). I linked both in the description box. And thank you for your sweet compliment ❤️

    Hi Tamara. Love watching your videos!! What brand or cream that has retinol in it would you suggest? Thanks much!!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  3 года назад

      Hi Diane, I don't have personal experience with OTC Retinols since I have been using prescription Tretinoin for so many years. Tretinoin is the active form of Retinoic Acid and is active immediately upon application. Retinol requires two conversion steps in the skin before becoming active. Retinaldehyde only requires one conversion step in the skin. So I would recommend trying a Retinaldehyde cream. However, they are typically a little more expensive than Retinol. Osmosis has some good Retinaldehyde serums...quite pricey. Avene makes a fairly affordable and highly rated Retinaldehyde serum. www.drmtlgy.com/?rfsn=4446356.250253
      I need to do a deeper dive and a video on OTC alternatives one of these days. In the mean time check out Penn.Smith.Skincare LLC, Dr. Dray and Gothamista. They all have many videos on Retinols with lots of recommendations. Hope this helps!

    I love you mentioned to listen to your skin and adjust I if it needs more hydration or time to heal. As a holistic master esthetician for over thirty three years I am not an advocate of changing your routine in at any time during the year, but giving It a break or recognizing it needs a moment is great advice! I love Vaseline masks in the wintertime. I am also a huge believer of washing in the morning. At night is when our body heals itself and our skin the largest organ of the body purges out impurity’s and toxins at night leaving a film on our skin and If you don’t wash in the morning you leave a space for bacteria and fungus to grow. When we have new clients begin to wash in the morning the transformation is huge for their skin.
    I hope you didn’t mind the extra skin love Tamara. Have a joyful Sunday. 🍑Lisa

    Is it too late to start using Retin A or retinol in the 60"s? I've read it might not do much because the skin just doesn't regenerate (turnover and make new cells) at that age. I need a solution for thin skin & lower face laxity. Thank you!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  3 года назад +2

      No it's not too late! That's the beauty of RetinA is it actually stimulates collagen and cell turnover. Good skin care always makes a difference in how your skin looks and feels. (it does take time so be patient) One of my friends didn't start until age 65 and she loves the way her skin looks now 2 years later.. check out the channels 'Monica's Beauty and Lifestyle" as well as "Mary Ellen after 60" both started RetinA and skin care at around age 60. No skin care will reverse sagging, but it can help the skin look healthier, glower, and overall prettier. Also, if it is in your budget you might consult a dermatologist...perhaps there is a laser or a treatment that can help with some of your concerns as well....but if not...basic skin care helps...at any age. So go for it! AND we can be beautiful WITH wrinkles, sagging and gray hair....❤️

AHAs can be tricky to squeeze in...but definately should not be used at the same time with RetinA which I use at night so that's why I use it in the AM...it seems to be fine for me in the morning. @@TamarasTimelessBeauty SO Tamara, When DO you get in your Glycoloic Acid? Mine has been sitting off to the side, as I'm afraid to use with all my other morning serums!!!! And I use Nothing at night but Tretinoin. Do you think our twice weekly AHA/BHA peel does enough or do these even have Glycolic in them? I'm so confused. I was so glad to see you use your Lactic acid in the morning routine. I use it, too, most mornings, if I am not red. Didn't know if I should or not, but if I don't use most everything in the mornings, They just don't get used. OR...sometimes I will GIVE UP my morning things and use only Glycolic lotion all day, or a nightly BHA/AHA and just use it all day!!! So, this is how I try getting everything IN! I hate to not use my Vit C everyday, but I feel I'm getting enough the rest of the week. (And still interchanging every other night my TRET or Curology! Seems to be working well.) And after giving up my most favorite gentle foaming facial wash...my face is better than ever. So until I order some Neutrogena Hydra Boost Cleanser or whatever else I hear of...I am Actually using a cream cleanser from Pixie! Or my tried and true Noxzema!!!!! I have always kept a new jar around for some reason! Or... after removing makeup using Pond's cold cream, light and zi tissue off, will use Merle Norman's Miracol facial. I let it dry completely, then splash face til all gone. BEST feeling EVER!!! I decided to go back to my old all time HG products and even now wear an old Merle Norman cream to posder foundation almost all the time. Putting on with a wet or dry sponge is delightful. No tugging, only patting my entire face with it covers EVERYTHING! So...Until I run out of my 2 current cleansers, I may try the Mad Hippie one. Thanks for showing. Oh, I also use every morning, some of Angie's serums, Matrixyl 6Synthesis,etc. Just gotta use all I think are Must Haves! So I've been on my skincare journey since I was 16 yo, with Merle Norman cleanser, (discontinued) and the Miracol. Every woman should try Miracol. It's an experience! P.s. OH>>> Everyone should have super soft microfiber facial towels to remove their cleansers!!! Mine were ordered from Walmart and I bought 14 so that every time I washed my face 2 X per day, I would have a fresh clean one to wash and exfoliate my cream cleansers! Since I'm not splashing off soap suds anymore!!!

On no foundation days I might mix a tad of IT CC cream to add a little more tint and coverage. Some of my fav foundations include Georgio Armani Luminous Silk but SO expensive, I also like L'Oreal Pro Glow (204 in summer, 203 in winter), and my new FAV is the new IT Cosmentics Your skin but better foundation plus skin care. I picked up the color 22 light neutral...might be a tad light for me.
