I have been an Oregonian all my 67 years and we pride our self's on our fishin' abilities.. But you bama boys.. heck all of you good ole boys from the south know how to fish with style! Just love these vids.. 'course we all have mostly trout here.. but in my golden years I like the fighters better so I am teachin' myself to bass fish.. and it is to my southern brothers I come to for help.. thanks for that tip about seting the hook.. with trout you have to be quick.. they mostly do not come back hit and gone. thanks for the share my friend.. carry on!

Yes! I liked it. I have been a fishing freak for almost 40 years, I know all the things you spoke on but I still enjoyed watching and listening. When you are out on a boat, I'm sure some is edited out, but man!!!! When you guys find em, they are hauling in the fish! You BOTH are excellent anglers and there's always going to be something worth listening to when that's the case. Thanks guys!

After watching this video you just earned a subscriber sir. Best explanation of frog fishing I’ve seen. I actually had a bass hit a whopper plopper twice with a closed mouth and couldn’t understand what was going on. Been scratching my head for two days over it. I now understand what was probably going on. Thank you 🙏

I quit using braid with mono leader just for the simple fact that the knot kept knocking into my rod tip and knocked the ceramic insert out of all my rods. So now I fish all my topwater with 20lbs low stretch low viz suffic mono. Been working pretty good for me

I’ve always counted to 3 once the frog disappears and then set.
    90% hookup ratio.
If the bass misses, I leave the frog in one spot motionless for 20 seconds.
After the 20 seconds, I start twitching the frog. Basically pretending the frog was knocked out on the miss and finally regaining consciousness.
Only time I set with the rod straight up is in heavy cover.
Fast reels as well, I’ve found better hookup ratios too.

Try a Snagproof Wobbletron. The button feet kick up a major commotion. Also, try the Snagproof Poppin' Phattie. It will spit & pop...even on a mat, & it's easy to walk in open water. Lastly, a tip for walking a frog...slow down & don't twitch the rod too aggressively. It's a slower & softer cadence than you'd use to walk a spook.
