- This is the install video of my new Aqua UV 15 watt classic UV sterilizer. I'm installing it on my 75 gallon reef tank. This is the latest reef tank upgrade for my filtration system.
Very clean. That’s what I like bout you bro. U make things just work and look easy for the average reefer even pros. U give options to us reefers. Thanks man.
Thank you bro, i appreciate it a lot
Looks good. If you plumbed the UV facing out instead of ticked in the back you probably wouldn't need to remove it to replace the bulb. It loojs great regardless just sharing my thoughts. Keep up the awesome content.
Thanks John, i was gonna try something like that but i figured when i replace the bulb yearly it would be a good time the clean the entire thing internally 👍👍
We love the install as well, excellent job.. Thanks for the shout out. As mentioned, we are always happy to take your calls and answer your questions.
Thank you very much, and thank you for having a great company 👍
Looking great, can’t wait for my sump area to look like this , what return pump you using??
Thanks man, and its a jebao dcs 7000
Good video Pipes!!!
What kind of UV is it? I need one for my 70.3 waterbox reef tank.
Thank you, its a 15 watt uv👍
Hey brother I have the same uv I want to hard plumb my UV what kind of adaptors are those that connect to the UV because the AQUA uv comes with barb fittings. Can you please let me know thanks bud
Mine came with a second set of adapters to hard pipe it. Maybe reach out to aqua uv and see if they offer the adapters
What fitting did you use use to connect PVC to plastic hose to pump
I used a pvc glue to 1/2" female thread coupling with a 1/2" threaded barb adapter.
Great Install goanna duplicate it working on a new setup off to HD for some fittings ... where did you get your cal/alk dosing jugs they are the business ..
Brs space saver jugs👍
More great content 🥰
Thanks again Blinky😁
Update 11 months later on water clarity??
Crystal clear water👍
You're tip towing on not being a KISS reefer. Whats next, APEX and auto water changes 🤣
Lol. I figured eliminating changing carbon monthly and running the uv would be more of kiss😁
Great job boss, we miss you when you coming back? I love your content and explanation. Cheers. From Seattle WA
Thanks man. And my return will probably be 2024
Wow your really getting tech savvy. Kudos to us oldies. Leave it runin. You'll regret not running uv long term upon start up. Watch your water go crystal clear, no more carbon bags. Woot woot. I went with 24 watt green machine on reef and one on arawana tank. I replace once a year and donate them away. They kick ass.
Carbon bags are a thing of the past for me now👍👍👍
What about contact time? Arent you worried about not getting the best efficiency out of such a nice uv.? What if the best setting is at a different speed as the the return water flow speed...and if ur just turning down the intensity... aren't you losing efficiency as well? I need one and I truly cannot figure out the right combination.
I didn't turn down the intensity. Im running it at the recommended flow rate
Just ordered the 15W 3/4". I like your hard pipe and service bypass pipe. Great ideas that I will copy on my installation!
You're gonna see a huge difference in clarity👍👍
Man I just got the 25 watt and I had such a tough time figuring out how to plumb it. This was so helpful! Amazing.
Glad it helped. 👍👍👍
Billy I just got this same UV unit and am going to plumb it in, what PVC device do you use to monitor flow rate?
I didn't use anything specific. I just let it have full flow from the return pump
the flow rate on the sterilizer is so slow, whats the GPH you have going from UV to DT?
How is the flow rate so slow?
Hi Billy, your UV setup looks great! It is non intrusive and easy to access. I completely agree regarding the unions, more the better.
Thank you, and yeah i love me some unions
Super clean install. Would have expected nothing less from you. Great Job!!!
Thank you very much Phil
I have the same UV the recommended flowrate is a max of 233gph. You'd need like a 40-50watt uv to run it like that.
Those are only recommendations. Running it at different flow rates will give different results. Im using it for water clarity and my tank has never looked this good
@@BillyPipes True, if that's your only goal and you're seeing results then money well spent.
unions are the way to go. Nice addition
Thanks man
Damn brother nice to see that you did a video on dame UC I have. That sump looks amazing bro! I did see you change the skimmer to middle section I may try that as I have the same set up as you. Thanks again for the videos..
Hey thanks man👍👍
Bro where did you get the slimmer stand?
You’re going to love it Billy. You’re water will be crystal clear in a day.
Its amazing how clear it is now👍👍i actually had to turn down the light intensity
Awesome Video Billy, I really enjoyed the Install TimeLapse 👌🏾💯💯
😁😁
Thanks for the video. How many gallons is the tank?
75 gallons
Merci BILLY pour cette vidéo mais c'est pas un peux léger 15 watt ??? 👍👍👍
It wont let me translate what you're asking. Can you write it in English please?
How do you know the flow rate through the UV is where it needs to be?
I went with the gph flow chart👍
Great job Billy wouldn’t expect anything less than perfection 👌
Thanks buddy😁😁
Oh man look at that system is looking nice Billy
Thanks bro
Hi, do you run the uv 24/7 now?
Yes, 24/7👍
Got to love those free hospital towels.
Lol they're the best
Billy doing it right.... Nice.
Thanks again Jae
Great job, I needed this.
Glad it helped👍👍
