    thank you for posting the video.Just one question: wouldn't be more effective with the inlet and outlet located in separate chambers? (the best maybe both of them directly in the tank?). regards

      Yes I think it would be

    Hi Joey do you keep the return and pump in the same chamber?

    • @joety22
      @joety22  Год назад

      No uv pump in second chamber from left

    What do you think of the sterilizer now? I have a waterbox 35.2 AIO and I am getting a Dino outbreak and want to see if UV can get it under control. Do you do anything to make it less noisy? Also how long do you run it?

    • @joety22
      @joety22  3 года назад +3

      I love it. I stuck a 1/2 inch vinyl tubing up the outflow nozzle. I run it 24/7. It should help with your dinos. I would also start dosing phosphate and nitrates to help eradicate your dinos.

      Thank you. I have been dosing Nitrates and Phosphate for the past few days. My nutrients bottomed out and I think that is what caused the bloom. I installed the UV on Saturday and I am already seeing things starting to turn around. Thank you for the video! You might have saved my tank from total disaster. Thank you!!!

    Let me know how that works out. I might get one for my 35.2

    You can buy another one of the barb fittings from AquaUV for the outlet and just attach a tube that goes beneath the waters surface

    • @joety22
      @joety22  3 года назад

      I don’t believe the outlet is removable, but maybe i am wrong. The outlet seems to be part of the body.

      @@joety22 There is another version that has two 3/4" ID outlets. You cannot replace the hang on piece though.

    I have 3” of space behind my display tank. Will this fit back there?

    • @joety22
      @joety22  2 года назад

      I think so but you would be cutting it close.

  • @charlescox4213

    you could try 3/4" silicone tubing it's very flexible and might fit around your outlet

    I didn’t think it was safe to look at the bulb on.

      Michael Hans yes you are correct, artificial UV sources can cause eye damage especially if you have prolong exposure. It’s best to wear sunglasses.

    • @ryank.7540
      @ryank.7540 3 года назад +1

      @@joety22 Do NOT use sunglasses, they do not block UV-C light, only A and B if rated for it. Using sunglasses is worse than looking at it without (which is very bad) since your pupils will open wider letting in more of the harmful rays. Any artificial UV source that sterilizes should be assumed to be using UV-C.

    I would have a slower flow so more sterilisation in the uv . But gr8 video

    • @hurricaneaquatics
      @hurricaneaquatics 3 года назад

      That's a powerful UV and clearly states that any slower than 230gph is not good for saltwater. It will kill beneficial bacteria of you run it slower.

    • @joety22
      @joety22  3 года назад +1

      I used 1/2 inch vinyl tubing and stuck it up the outflow nozzle. Works like a charm.

    I’m thinking about getting a UV sterilizer for my waterbox 50.3, wouldn’t the 8 watt version be enough?

    • @joety22
      @joety22  Год назад

      Yes it would be. I got the higher wattage in case I wanted to upgrade in the future.
