    Use acetone on your screen if you have dried resin, leave it for a bit and use a plastic scraper to gently get it off. Almost always pretty much damage free.

    Very informative, got the MonoX in pre order and it’s been running great, when I got it Chitubox didn’t have the pwmx format and I basically use Photon Workshop just to slice the file and I stuck with the old versions ever since.
    I’ve always been using Siraya Tech Fast Grey resin, in Photon Workshop I found 1.8 exposure is great for me and 40 exposure for the base with 6 layers is good. Going to get some transparent resin, maybe Elegoo or Siraya next to try out, tweaking the setting for it will be an adventure.

    I am new to 3D printing. My husband's boss does a lot of it and gave me three Photon Mono X printers that he no longer uses but they need help. I'm hoping I can get at least one up and running. I don't know enough about them yet to see if fixing them is going to be worth spending money on, or if I would be better off buying a new one. I screenshotted your settings and hopefully I can find more videos on how to actually use them, so I can learn to troubleshoot them. Thumbs up from me!

    Broooo, I loved this machine. My lcd touchscreen took a large deuce (it was all scrambled) and they made some firmware fix for me. After that? Has not worked since. I used these settings and ensured to copy them again after upgrading to the new Chitubox. No luck yet. Man, I miss making hero statues. I use FDM to print costume pieces to mold and cast. I tried doing a statue on FDM but... no. It just is not the same.

    I need to upgrade for my FDM to a Neptune 3 Max. I hear Neptune 4 is lacking in logic. What do you suggest as a machine upgrade that is AROUND the same price and build volume?

    I just picked up the mono x and am having print failures due to either the print sticking to the fep or support failure. My settings do not have the same configuration as what is showing in your video. Have used Photon Workshop, Chitubox and Lychee without any success. I use water washable resin. Any help would be appreciated.

    Informative video, but after owning the Mono X for about 10 months I find it to be a toy. We bought and use it for engineering parts - ie we need all surfaces and we make large and solid prints, without caring much about resin consumption. As a general point one side is always really poor quality, supports that are strong enough that prints don't warp cannot be removed properly, and to get usefull parts we often need to CNC at least one side.
    We love the speed of print and the fact that you once in a while get good prints but as a professional tool it is poor, although we do have maybe 20-30% of parts that the machine produces really well. We have had some great parts with SirayaTech Fast White and 20% Tenacious mixed in.
    If resin spills through the FEP you can disolve it with acetone and scrape it off with a box cutter blade. It is hard on the tape of the screen though
    (PS - last comment you should ignore - We also removed the polarizing film so it prints full size plates instead - so screen replacement.)

  • @mrmagicfungi

    Aren’t these lift speeds really low??? I applied your setting but in lychee slicer. A 2inch statue could take several days to print. Could you provide your insight on this?

    • @Rise3DBuilds
      @Rise3DBuilds  2 года назад

      So I use Chitubox and don't always trust the slicer time. Its like microsoft time. My lift speeds are slower. What I found with working with this machine is to get a good print I had to slow it down. Basically it was pulling way to hard and fast when it lifted often times pulling the print off the build plate. Not everyone's experience is the same.

    I have a M3 the quality is no so good, but if for budget limit it still a good choice printer. I didn't have M3 plus or Max but i curious about the auto refill work? because resin mixture in the bottle may not even after a while, if u not shake it the auto refill will only suck the bottom part of the mixture. Will it effected the printing quality?

    I just got a Mono X this week.
    But I'm having major issues with the Anycubic Workshop outputting files that the Mono X can read. They are the right file type. But the printer won't print them. And I have noticed that there is no print preview showing up like the test cube print does.
    I tried downloading chitubox free version and couldn't get it to download either

    • @Rise3DBuilds
      @Rise3DBuilds  2 года назад +3

      I would not say you need to replace your order. The photon mono is a good machine once you line out the settings. This weeks video I compare it to the Saturn S. I found the Saturn S to be a better machine for the cost. I have a M3 max on the way but I am not sure getting the M3 will change the problems that you might run into. For cost and value I prefer the Saturn S from elegoo. Same size and sharper resolution.

      @@aymezemouri2942 hopefully your printing is going well. I haven't finished the video yet when typing this, so keep that in mind when reading. Make sure your build plate is flat. Get a straight metal ruler or something similar. Take the edge of the ruler and put it edge to edge, then corner to corner. You should see little to no light between the ruler and the build plate. My build plate came concave. Haven't even messed with it because it made me mad.
