I am astounded at how much ground Genesis has covered in such little time. Having true class-competitive products essentially out of the gate WITH a value proposition… amazing. Gotta wonder why Cadillac hasn’t figured this out 4 decades into their “turnaround.”
Cadillac has figured it out, just look at their blackwing models and the escalade; I think the Lyriq looks promising but I do agree that their other crossover are not as completive as they could be. I also agree about genesis though, love what the brand is doing.
@@brentflemmer4237 Their Blackwing cars are a tiny percentage of what they sell. Neither are considered best in class. As far as who’s to blame for no manual option: it was terrible, especially the clutch, but the gear selector was also rubbery. I ended getting an ND Miata and minivan. Still have my 2014 Mazda 6 manual too. Now that’s a good manual and clutch combo, even if the FWD family car thing limits it’s outright performance. But it feels good.
The G70 packs surprisingly great punch for a new kid (it's crazy how this humble Genesis can give even TLX Type S quite a run for the money in many drag races I've watched so far, it's spectacular) but that interior tho, too outdated design especially with the likes of its newer sister, GV70 having one of the most lavish interior in the compact segment I've seen, it's hard to ignore and not to mention the rear seat space is cramped. Despite that, I still believe that 3 series and especially the new C-Class have nothing to worry here, these German duo will stay as the stalwart player in this segment. My 2 cents ...
So many manufacturers are copying each other with implementing the front headlights into the front bumper. For a DIY people like me, it's a pain in the butt, having to replaced my wife's GV80 left headlight due to a rock heading it cracking the glass. To access the headlight, you first removed the front wheels, then removed the inner wheel covers, left and right, then you will have access to the front bumper screws and tabs, disconnect all sensors removed the screws and tabs to fully removed the front bumper, removed front bumper, now you have full access to the 2 screws underneath the front headlight. Replaced headlight, and due everything in reverse. Took me 4hrs (faster if 2 people) to finished the job, or I could paid the dealer $471 for just the labor.
just got mine 2023 g70 3.3t awd white with red interior if anyone knows untill what mile is the engine brake let me know besides that this car is wonderful and magical its something else
I've fallen in love with the G70, solely because of its looks. It's a car that just makes people look when they see one. It'll probably be my first car, plan to get it within 1-2 yrs (in college currently). My only issue with Genesis is besides safety features, you have to pay multiple thousands more to get features that are normally standard in companies like Benz, Cadillac, and BMW, to name a few. The standard safety features are obviously nice, but it would be nice if I didn't have to pay 2-6k+ more just for a surround view monitor, powered trunk (that closes), or any of the other cool features that are really nice to have. I am also praying that if they add these changes into the 2024/2025 G70, they also include ambient lighting like Mercedes does. If they could make more of the features standard, like Benz and the other luxury brands usually do, I think more people would buy Genesis and it would allow them to truly compete with the European luxury brands by being cheaper without sacrificing the features, looks, or performance of the car.
I dont think you understand how BMW and Mercedes work. Literally every single item you get with them is an add on. Nothing comes standard. To get a tip trim C43 or M340i you're looking at 66-68k, 13-15k higher than a loaded G70
I must say i like when you have a larger person review the car to give me a scale i can work with from a lot vantage point and it doesn't hurt if the man has a Cool ass 80's name.
Are you in the market for a 4 cylinder sports sedan or is your comment just merely part of your wishlist? Everybody wants everything, even though they are not in the market to purchase or rent a new vehicle!
Genesis is producing great but the dealerships need to change and serve customers like a premium brand. Every Genesis dealer I've been to is right next to a Hyundai Dealership and it feels like you are buying a Hyundai when you go to a Genesis dealership.
