Hi Travis and Suzy, As i mentioned in the previous video for Guns n roses, they were (1) of (2) of the "kings of the sunset strip." The other band, motley crue, were notorious for their parties at their place in the Hollywood Hills above the Sunset Strip. Their early performances are legendary, and at the time, no one looked like them, and they were both heavy and glam at the same time. It was such a fun time to watch them play small venues and just blow people away with their stage presence and heavy music. This song, "live Wire" captures the vibe of their early performances, and what they sounded like in the beginning. Just a great time and so many wonderful memories of a time when music was just so much fun. Enjoy

For my 13th B'day I saw Motley which was my first concert ever It was 1985 in Hartford Connecticut on the Theatre of Pain tour and it was great I saw them 3 more times when they came thru Connecticut and each time they rocked It bad they turned into such a parody Tommy Lee was also an influence 🤘✌️😎🧐
You and I saw crue for the first time in the same year. I saw the Theatre of pain tour in 1985 at the Von Braun civic center in Huntsville, AL

Motley Crue and this first album of theirs was in your face and raw. The whole was that way.

I lived in La at the time, us 83 was there big coming out party that was when they had a giant crowd and when they really arrived. Too fast for Love was my favorite album, and shout at the devil was phenomenal.

The album that this is on, too fast for love is really an amazing hybrid of radio rock, Punk and just a sprinkling of metal it really is unique among motley's discography.

Would have loved to party with them back in that time. I'm probably a little older but I used to party very hard at that time. So I think I could have kept up but I love about these guys is that everything they sing about that actually lived so they weren't fake

saw this young Crue open for KISS where all the Phoenix kids went to rock, Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It hosted many great shows in the 70s and 80s.

back when this came out i was a kid like 9. I bought Shout when it came out. That being said, when you're a kid and see bands like this I always thought they were adults.. Old people ha. Here Nikki was 23, Tommy was 19, Vince was 20 and Mick was actually "the old Man" of the group he was 30, he's 6 months older than my dad.. ha.. But the three were kids.. And yes if I remember the story right, cause they were poor and didn't really have a budget for this video..The fire was real.. They poured lighter fluid on his pants and lit it.

LOL 😅 Is he on fire? Yes, in the early days they didn't have money for pyrotechnics, so, they'd light bassist Nikki Sixx on fire.
If Mick Mars could go back in time he should taunt Nikki Sixx to use the entire bottle of lighter fluid.
Mick has actually talked about this very thing in their home video, and in other interviews. Nikki would tell them to light him up, and Mick devilishly said that he'd stand there with the can adding a little extra. Nikki would wind up with the hair burned off his legs. Doc Magee put a stop to it after a while, because he didn't want to lose a band that was going to make him a ton of money.
Motley Crue came out way before guns and roses. They were actually on the downside of their career when guns and roses came out with appetite.
