      @@DrJamesGill It is on the other end of the spectrum from the medical field, but its Media and Culture.. you make writing about communication pre WWII a little more tolerable

    That trick with the dot in the paper sheet has blown my mind. Who would have thought all these eyes needed to see again was to putapitapaper in front of them? ;)
    I'm guessing it's a similar principle when we squint to try to see better?

      It's how a camera works as well. The smaller the aperture(smaller the opening in the lens) the greater the depth of field(how much is in focus from near to far)

    This time just listened as a podcast, not paying attention to the visuals (probably spotless).
    Only detail is from 2:49 to 3:12 and 3:18 to 3:30, can clearly hear the change between mics.
    Other than that, it was excellent.

    Ahaha, I recently lost my vision (temporarily) in the outside half of my right eye before having an ocular migraine behind my opposite eye! I didn’t even know I got migraines until then, I thought they were just bad headaches. 😬 It’s interesting to see how this works.

    Great video! I learned a lot even though I’m not in medical school. However I’m studying to become a teacher (4 out of 5 years completed) so I might be able to use your presentation and pedagogical methods. Thank you for existing and for creating useful and informing content!
    I do have one question though. What happened at 11:11? It seems to be two people talking at the same time. It did seem a bit philosophical though.

      My hard drive essentially corrupted, and had a real issue putting the video back together, couldn’t salvage this section, hence the oddity

    I have a bit of a hypothetical question. We all have a blind apot where the optical nerve connects to the eye. Hpotbetically, if that spot suddenly went away, and we didnt have a blindspot anymore, would we notice? What would it look like?

    There's a couple of slight audio issues which aren't a big problems, notably at 11:11 and you can hear a seperate stream of audio? You can hear you, but it appears that you've accidentally left some other audio from another part of the video in. It's only faint but worth noting!

      It actually couldn’t remove it. My hard drive corrupted and this was a “whole movie” file.
      Ie I couldn’t access the FCPx library, so couldn’t do a final polish. Shame, but it was sufficiently minor I didn’t think it worth while refilming it. Thankfully the rest of the footage for the other cranial nerves is ok

    I have to wear glasses for reading and distance. Mostly for reading. My question is why is it that if I cross my eyes (no glasses on) that my vision becomes super clear.

    When i was 10 years old i had an accident on a go kart that pinched the optic nerve in my left eye .. I am now 40 years old .. In the next 20 years what are the chances of my sight being restored by advancements .? Because it is not within capabilities to fix my nerve .. Yet 🤞🙏
