Potentially yes. You would need to set up port forwarding on the router on the network this device it connected to then you would also need to set up some sort of dynamic DNS (DDNS) service to give you a known address to access that router/network from outside the home.
Good Morning Congratulations for your work What is the best solution to monitor a solar system with battery through the internet with a connection (WIFI or RJ45)? In other words, how can I check the status of the battery and solar production without having to go to the installation site? I want to be able to check the status of the solar system over the internet from anywhere, how can I do it? Thanks
Depends on what equipment you have available. If you have something like a local PC, Raspbery Pi or similar, use RS485 and VIrtualHere: www.virtualhere.com/home To share that serial port over the network. If not, use the WiFI adapter, join your local network and then share that port/device on the router.
Weird just plugged my epever controller tracer in on 20amp fuse an others go off eg pump an lights on 12v fuse box .has epever got its own switch inside when you press enter or select
@@stevemcgowan3017 Yes, the push button (usually on the far right) turns the DC output on and off. In manual mode, that's the only way that happens. There are also automatic/timed modes where that can turn on at sunset and then turn off after so many hours.
if would bought this, and you wouldn't change a thing, someone with bad intentions, could easily change all your setting s of you solar installation ( because of the admin/admin none security) do you know if you also could make an secured connection in the original AP mode ? . Great interesting video, thanks
That may take a while, I have the box shoved up into the attic of my house right now and it's not easy to get to. It's likely dated Oct. 2016 or earlier as that's when I purchased it.
I haven't had a chance to try the Bluetooth version yet. According to the manual, it uses the same app, but no mention of how to make that connection. Maybe one of the viewers of this video has tried it and can comment.
Good video, but amazed it work for you. I have tried two android phones and one android tablet so far, just get the "Not connected to Wifi" message, even though I made that connection before starting the app :( ...not impressed
Is this with a later model adapter? If so, this may be another issue with the newer firmware like the loss of station mode. I only used the tablet connection the one time and it seemed to work fine then.
can this device actually act like a online server to access charge controller data outside home?
Potentially yes. You would need to set up port forwarding on the router on the network this device it connected to then you would also need to set up some sort of dynamic DNS (DDNS) service to give you a known address to access that router/network from outside the home.
because in my ebox wifi 01 there is only the AP mode mode and there is not even the choice of the STA mode mode, what should I do?
You likely have a newer model adapter where the STA mode option has been dropped.
ho there. will this conect to PC?! i use iphone and this app is not available. :(
I've not tried that, but yes, if you can connect to the device hot spot via WiFi, you should be able to access via any web browser.
@@The4Crawler tks for your reply. best regards
Hi R Brown,
I have it connected follow your steps and it works well thankyou!
A question... did you manage to find it in Home Assistant?
No, I've not managed to do that myself.
@@The4Crawler Thankyou, have a nice day.

Yes, plain old Ethernet cable works, no need for any special cat number.

Under the Account Management screen, you can change the login and password to other than the default value.
super! thanks for the response :)
I have a new wifi box that will does not show a station mode ? They must have changed the firmware ?
I've heard that as well. Not sure how to change to an older firmware version, though.
R Brown can you tell me the date code on yours. It is located on the label on the box. Thanks

R Brown Many Thanks, that will provide me with a reference so I can hopefully get one that can be changed before I buy another one.
How did you get connected to the tablet via bluetooth module ebox.
I haven't had a chance to try the Bluetooth version yet. According to the manual, it uses the same app, but no mention of how to make that connection. Maybe one of the viewers of this video has tried it and can comment.
Unable to connect via Bluetooth. I tried several times without results. I think that Bluetooth is not functional on ebox.
SO LIKE ADAM WELCH SAYS I CAN CONNECT MY TRACER TO WIFI BOX 1 WITH AN APP AN THE CABLE SO DONT NEED THE MT50
Yes, should be able to do that. Not sure if all the controller features/settings are accessible through the app.
Load won’t turn on
I press select an get load on but no power out
I disconnected controller but still same the load bulb light won’t turn on had meter on isn’t there a timer ?just want load on when I want it 😂
Sorted I connected direct to battery on controller need on all time it’s only low power charger for phone
Has anyone tried to connect via bluetooth? I have the impression that I can not at all, not just me
This unit is WiFi only. They make another box with BlueTooth, the eBox-BLE-01:

Not sure of the model, but only bought it a few weeks back. It does work with one of the three Android devices I tried - so it's a bit fickle!
thanks dude
