I havent even started watching the full video yet because of the song at the beginning! Where is the full version? Thanks
My Hertz here locally for fleet truck service in oregon does$ 66/day, 396/wk 😊, $1499/month for 15ft box truck and 442/wk for 26/ft box truck, you are allowed 100miles per day them no charge. good video
Thank you for making this video. I've been searching for a video about how to use rental trucks and possibly cargo vans. I've seen some videos but they all say it's not a good idea, I believe in my case it would be a perfect idea as I don't have the money to buy one, but I'm in the market for a cargo van preferably a sprinter. Anyway can this work for cargo vans? Not sure if any of that is said in ur video yet.
When I was renting a 26ft box truck through budget. I never paid for mileage. That was in 2021 and my truck rental was 2k/month. It went up to $2500/month in 2022
How much were you earning?
Hi how do you get insurance when renting does brockers accept the insurance you provide as well as the cargo insurance
Great video I have been waiting on someone to drop a more recent video on this topic. Looking to get into the business in January. What is the cap on the amount of miles you can drive per week ??
Thanks for watching! If your asking cap on rental truck miles? There are none. Your paying for the miles whether you do 1 mile or 1,000,000 miles.
Okay sounds good everyone else making it seem like they put a cap on it..thanks for the clarification
@@markthementor every company I've talked to is trying to cap the miles around 1,200 - 1,500/wk. How do you make that work to keep the money rolling?
@@elyl78 Hello. A lot has changed in the rental game since I made this video. There are many stipulations they are implementing now due to scarcity and more so due to the bad characters who are making it tough for good people. People are running off with trucks etc. Mileage caps won’t work if you seriously want to make money. The answer is you can’t make it work if your capped. You need to find a company that won’t cap the miles or ultimately purchase your own truck.

Do you have to have a llc to rent them for commercial
Yes you do. You have to be structured as a business either an LLC or INC.
How do you get insurance for rented truck
Hello. You ca get insurance through a commercial insurance broker.
YO IF I GET ARATE FOR BOX TRUCK FOR 560 AND 16 CENT A MILE AND IM DRIVEING 3000 MILES PER HOW MUCH IM PAY A WEEK/MONTH?
How do you rent a truck and put a whole different driver in it ?
Does that come with insurance ?
commercial for the cargo ?
No. If your running commercial freight, you still much get $1M GL coverage $1M in commercial auto and $100k in cargo.
The song intro though, may I get who ?…. An I’ll appreciate the love
So will i be charged for all the months up front? Or do i pay every week (after telling them ima keep it for a while)
Hello. Now most companies will require a down payment and the first week. Then you’ll pay weekly. Down payment will be returned at end of rental as long as there are no incidents. This policy started some time during the pandemic. May vary by location.
Great video my brother. Question when you rent a truck if you didn't get any work yet? For example amazon relay requirements you have to have the truck before you sign up. So I don't want the truck sitting and I'm paying 500 a week
Hello. Unfortunately many people have to do this for a week or two. If you want you can snatch a vin get your DOT active and then apply but they are going to want your vehicle info when you apply and you won’t have the actual info until you actually pick up the truck so the info can match. Unfortunately, this may be a cost you may have to eat if you want to do Amazon Relay.
@@markthementor thanks my brotha. So I might as well rent a truck and look for loads on the online boards huh?
@@stopthecancelculture you can. Do research first before you do so you know which brokers will work with you if your DOT isn’t aged at least 90 days so you won’t go through that frustration.
@@markthementor thanks for those gems I'll work on getting my dot and other licenses now while I'm doing my research so about that time it will have aged and I won't have to deal with the headaches. We talking dot business licenses right or cdl?

How does insurance work when renting a truck?
Hello. Thank you for watching. You would have to put commercial auto insurance on it. Contact a commercial insurance broker and have him shop you on the market for the best rates. You’ll have to provide the VIN so they quote accurately. From there, you’d choose a company, make the down payment and your broker would submit the filings.
Will enterprise send an efile to fmcsa if I choose to purchase there insurance ? So I can remain active?
Do you have a insurance broker?
mc150 need to be done by your insurance company
I can’t find a truck 26’ for Amazon relay. I’m close to Atl. I’m willing to fly for a truck.
Your the second person to contact me from Georgia since yesterday with the same problem. I think there is definitely a shortage of trucks in the southeast region. You may need to try the Midwest.
Check Tennessee area
Hey @markthementor was the 650 truck payment due weekly or monthly?
weekly
Just experienced that with Ryder! I told them i was new and she hit me with i had to be in commercial business 2 years!
Hello. Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately a lot of bad people have messed up the rental experience. The pandemic money drew in an influx of people and not all were good. From stolen trucks, unreturned trucks, declined cards etc they just don’t want to deal with new people anymore. It’s unfortunate.
I’m in California and thinking of getting into this. I’m assuming you’re renting under a USDOT? And I’m applying for my usdot but all the rental companies won’t rent to me under my DOT number so the rates are stupid high. 1100+/week. They said to be eligible for a lease I need my authority for 3+ years. Am I missing something?
Due to recent incidents, most rental companies have changed their company model and have added stipulations to renting to new authorities or people who are new to the industry.
@@markthementor Budget rental, Penske and U-Haul commercial programs have all limited their miles to a "milage cap" of 120-150 miles a day as of 2023. How are these youtubers using a rental box truck for their DST amazon relay if this is the case?
How come everything I'm hearing from these rental companies is the exact opposite of what these trucking Ytbrs are saying??
Hi! Do you know of any rental companies besides the big name ones?
Budget wouldn’t even approve me for a commercial account because they hav a mile cap of 150mi per day and they said they wont have 26’ available for another 3-6months near my area anyway.
Penske is saying my business has to be at least 3 years old with a brick and mortar address.
Ryder is my last option but they are so expensive😭 And they are even saying its a 1000mi cap for the week because its a new business
I live in the suburbs of Chicago and I assume you’re from the Chicago area as well since you mentioned Lollapalooza. Any suggestions?
Hello. Thanks for watching and hopefully subscribing to the channel. The only two local mom and pop rentals truck companies in our area are Elite and Chicagoland Truck Rental and last I checked they were out as well. Even if they weren’t they are usually expensive anyways. The industry is saturated at the moment and manufacturing is not at 100% as far as producing new trucks. If you have the capital I would suggest looking into purchasing a used fair priced truck. No more than $40k.

I sent him your peak season video and said watch him he is real keeps it 💯. I just wanted to ask you did something change have you heard of this now in 2023?
Yes. A lot has changed and is changing. I spoke a little on it lastnight and continuing the conversation on tonight’s livestream. May I ask, what brokerage company is it they run for that’s no longer allowing the rental truck?
@@markthementor He sent me a copy it's Action Express Inc. from Columbus Ohio that said no rental trucks..cause his work has been contracts not much OTR. He had contracts with buy buy baby n bed bath and beyond but they went outta business now.
Im a new subscriber , I was a little hesitant at first but my brothers with experience said you knew what you were talking about. Here is where i'm at. I have to start over from the beginning with no help from anyone. I can go OTR and to Canada because I need to be at 10,000 a week to finance my other IT projects I designed. This is the only way I can get the money without having a partner. Which path would you recommend I take?
Hello. Are you in a box truck or semi?
@@markthementor I want to do box truck to keep it simple. I committed to getting the money/capital for my other IT business goals. A CDL complicates things. $10,000 a week in a box truck and I will work OTR the whole year..
@@josephtrice82 I’m going to be honest with you. $10k a week in a box truck is extremely hard and almost u realistic especially in this economy. The average box trucker who is pushing 3,000 miles a week too dollar May average a grand a day. So $5-6k gross. That $10k gross range, that figure is average for a semi owner operator.
@@markthementor Gotcha! Someone told me it could be done if I am mostly going to Canada? Your opinion sir?
@@josephtrice82 Not sure. Never sent a truck across the border. I rarely see partial loads going over into Canada. If your in a box truck you’ll be looking for partials. Obviously there is much more opportunities for semi trucks and less for box trucks, so partials running across the border, I’m not sure if it would be consistent enough to meet your expectations.
Does this include pickup trucks or just box trucks?
Hello. This content video was intended for box trucks. Thanks for watching!
What's a start up cost you need to start? Looking to start ASAP.
Depends on what you're exactly trying to do. varies..
@markthementor I'm a beginner at it. I really don't wanna do a lot of otr. So is best to stick with cargo van instead?
Hey quick question im active under my authority and have a cargo van under my commercial insurance I did the hack to get a low down payment to go active but I am thinking about going the box truck rental route instead of cargo van I wanted to know exactly how can I book loads with a box truck rental that's not under my insurance policy ? Do I use the rental insurance and up my cargo insurance to 100k and my auto liability to a million under my cargo van policy when applying under carrier packets with new brokers? or do I just rent out the box truck add that vin under my insurance and apply as a carrier under different brokers under that vin with 1 million auto liability and 100k cargo and in my city of the state of Texas they do not require commercial general liability of 1 million I have to buy that separately lost this is the only thing stopping me from getting on the Road I have just been paying my commercial insurance for a van I am not using to stay active? What do I do ?
Hello. Whether you rent or own you must have a commercial policy for the vehicle. $1M general liability, $1M commercial auto, $100k commercial cargo. There is no work around. You wont go active.
@@markthementor im active already I figured it out though im trying to get on to amazon relay but Texas doesn't offer general liability they only offer auto liability and I have rental insurance with progressive so they will add the vin number that I give them and send it to the companies who need it on file

Question.
WITH A CLASS "C" YOU CAN DRIVE A 26FT TRUCK UNDER 26,000 LBS AND CANNOT CARRY MORE THAN 10,000 LBS, IS THAT CORRECT.?
ALSO, IF IT HAS AIR BRAKES, REGARDLESS OF ABOVE, THEN YOU NEED A CDL B CLASS MINIMUM, IS THAT CORRECT.?
Hello. Class C is needed for vehicles 16,000-26,000 pounds. 26,001 and above requires CDL. NonCDL straight trucks with air brakes do not need endorsement. Non cdl meaning under 26,001 pounds. Air brake endorsement only matters if you are operating vehicle in CDL weight territory. If non cdl then it is not required. Hope this answers your question.

But how do you get an MC & DOT without owning the truck?.
Hello. Thanks for watching. The answer is simple. Just apply here: www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/getting-started
Hey Mark, I’m desperate right now, my rent was upped $300. I would be paying $1050 for a 2 bedroom. I have less than 2 weeks to move out. It’s too much & not worth it. I just need clarity on if I need a BOC-3 to rent & book a load. I want to lease on with someone starting off rather than pay high insurance rates for my first time. I can’t seem to find clarity on what I need first before I call the loadboard & rental office. I have my LLC, EIN, but I heard you don’t need a DOT/MC number nor insurance because you can use theirs if you lease on. Could I personally contact you by email? To further this conversation. If you’re willing, if not thanks, just desperate.

Hello. The cost of entry is definitely higher now than previous times. I would shop around and find a good competitive rate. What’s does your profit normally be starting off
Hello. Depends on many factors and variables. What lane are you running? Do you own or rent your truck? Are you local or OTR? Middle mile or Final mile? In order for me to answer that you have to give me more details.
On a transparent note, how much take home after expenses in a box truck a week if running hard?
Not much now if any. Spot market rates are currently below cost and rental rates are extremely high as well as fuel. This video is old and not a great representation of todays market. At the current spot market rates it will be extremely difficult to profit in a rental. Many people are exiting the industry currently that are running in rentals.
@@markthementor what if I own the truck?
@@OnlyOneAGTheGreat Depends. If you are financing at a high rate same results. If you have a low monthly payment or you own your truck outright then you can possibly survive. Many people who do own their truck right now are parking and waiting it out as the rates are below cost. If you can survive at the current rates then you would need to be operating at a very low CPM.
