Adding to wishlist...........now! This looks just like what the doctor ordered! Btw, I am amazed at the sheer number of good indie/rougelike games that I've missed out on. Some of them are not terribly interesting for me, but your uniquely positive approach to games is so relaxing! I often find myself at the end of your videos without realizing how much time has passed! Next video in the series is an hour and half? *Click* Yes, please! Thank you for being you!
Only 20 minutes in so far - the debuffs persisting between battles, given the severity of them (particularly the minus-AP) seems pretty rough, but I guess the fact that defending clears a debuff was intended to make it a more valid strategic decision. Seems like a well designed and thought-out combat system.
the impact actually gives the buffs and debuffs an effect, I feel like in a lot of games, barr some such as Darkest Dungeon, it's rare for debuffs to have a play.
You retro unrelated to This game. Your channel has helped me find so many good games over the last year I really appreciate it. I catch every video now even if it's not something I am gonna grab. I love your style and presentation. Thanks my dude!
@@omegadragon01 right! I picked up dreamscaper after I saw his little video on it and man it's been amazing such a chill rouge lite. What I needed right now. Cheers!
@@Retromation From what I can see in your video (at 57:53), it also does the damage when it's the middle, which is why it's worded this way - it does the damage, except when it's a finisher, at which point it does the stun instead. Still I agree that the 'instead' might not be enough for clarity.
This game has some great battle mechanics and skill interplay. I don't think the dungeon exploration is on nearly the same level as the combat, but if the devs can level that up a little this will really be something special.
This video introduced me to this game and I just defeated the final boss with a single hit. Proud to be the first video on the community page for this game!
i'm agree with you about the lightning bolt. the thing is that if it says the damage text before the opener text it should indicate that you still got damage in the mid queue, but from 57:50 it show that it doesn't
Combat is more engaging? Did you play real rogulikes, like NetHack or ADOM? Where combat is really tactical and engaging. This combat looks like one-to-one only, without any maneuvers or tactic, and disconnected from landscape. Step back into narrow passage from room full of enemies? Clash different enemies together? Battle waltz? Nope. You will never win in real rogue*like* with «simply press arrow and bump into enemy» tactic.
I always envision people like you as a guard from some past era. You're standing by a gate and telling everyone who goes through, "You're not a real citizen if you go through the gate!" even though people come and go, you keep trying to tell them they're not real citizens for going through the gate. Meanwhile, your opinion has no baring on whether they are actually real citizens or not and they mainly just ignore you. Yet, there you stand. Alone, forgotten, and ignored. Mattering to no one and angry at the world.

Looks like a great game. You should do a series when it fully comes out.

I like that most things carry over, it makes you think more rather than "I can do whatever, fights gonna end anyway"

@@rekrn12345 right used all the items. Offense is the best defense maybe?
I'd love to see a full series, also that ability says "deal 20 stun damage *INSTEAD* ", so as a finisher it clears all other words
also the world gen gives me BoI vibes on where the item room would be, similar rules it feels like
I'd love a full series of this at some point. Seems awesome.

So very much agreed! I left a similar comment without realizing you beat me to it!

This looks amazing! Series must be made ASAP
the lightning bolt should only do damage if it's not a finisher, I think that's why it says "instead" there
Oh totally, but for clarity's sake it should be after the first :, making it clear it is part of that package

This looks really cool. They clearly put a lot of thought into the combat system.
Thanks!
Heeeey! Thank you so much!
intriguing once again! always with the quality content retro. Found so many treasures because of you
12:50 I cried here))))))))))))) the best moment))))
This video introduced me to this game and I just defeated the final boss with a single hit. Proud to be the first video on the community page for this game!
I’d love to see more of this!
Haven’t even seen how the meta progression works, thanks for bringing this game to my attention!
Dude all these let’s try’s of awesome looking games. Reto on a roll
For an early access this looks really fun and really promising already
the mega exploit... The ring...
Reduce 60% Damage
Curse : Use and Heal Max HP from now....
OP
if you would defend with that curse you woult get 100% dammage reduction
I need more my life as an archeologist ;-;
He forgot the Defend button even existed for the whole run.
It’s nice to see a more traditional rogue like. I’m all for seeing more.
More. Please! I BEG OF YOU!

I think it makes sense to me because it say deal 20 stun instead. If it didn’t say instead then I’d agree
This would make a great series
Look at this man he will never defend to reduce the damage. He take it all
why do that when I can kill them so they do 0
for everyone, this game is finaly in state 1.0 (beta) and will release soon
I think healing your max hp instead actual hp is a bug
if i didn't just buy poker quest i would buy this today. It's on the wish list for now!
Looks like a lot of fun. You seem to have found a way to break the game (in a good way) as per usual. Curious how that run would've ended.
lighning bolt only LOOSES the damage as finisher
Oooh, I don't know about you but it kind of felt like you were always in the edge of dying. Nicely balanced? Fun to watch anyways.
it is so fun and simple
Reto seal of freshness you say? Let me get my wallet...
Lmao that ring's busted. If you can just increase your Max HP with healing, what's the downside?
Lose Max hp when damaged
Reto voice acting
So ... We're a Pokemon

I did, and yes, this is more engaging to me, that is why I said that it was more engaging to me. To each their own.
