Labyrinth of Legendary Loot is a simple turn-based roguelike dungeon crawler focused on tactical combat. Every room is almost like a puzzle as you try to figure out the best way to defeat all enemies without taking too much damage.
You play as an adventurer entering the Labyrinth with nothing but a dull sword. Worry not! Each loot you find will grant you a unique ability that will help you slay monsters and find even more loot!
The Let's Try series is a way to preview / review games in order to get my first impressions through the first moments of gameplay.

"traditional roguelike" - u got me man
it punishes you hard for stalling. I think you constantly luring them into the last room caused you more pain and speed in the long run. Looks a good game.
Really love these type of turn-based Roguelikes. I get time to think out cool things, or more likely, overanalyze a simple turn to oblivion. Hopefully more and more cool things are added.
Ever check out Dungeon of Dredmore?
@@CaptAoife first of the genre I ever played lol. Should go back again though.
I'm pretty new to the genre, got any recommendations?
@@jelly8803 Not really. It isn't a genre I've played much but my dad and I played a LOT of Dungeons of Dredmore.
@@jelly8803 Stone Shard is a pretty challenging game with similar mechanics
You can probably use the corners to lure enemies into an ambush. It looks pretty fun, I had a good time watching you play!
would love too see more of this ! great job!
You broke my heart when selling the plague crown. 😅😭
Thanks for showcasing this game it looks phenomenal!
Something I noticed while you played is that every enemy has limited projectiles. For example, the goblins have 1 dagger and no more. The archers are meat shields once they stop shooting. Etc.
I bought Dungeon Core after watching your video yesterday (well, in the middle of watching it). I just wanted to satisfy that Gungeon itch, so I’m having fun with it. I hope it continues to get support. Keep up the good work, Reto!
Love this game, so happy you played it!
This is an amazing game, thanks for the showcase!
I wonder if this legendary amulet you seek at the bottom of the labyrinth is called Yendor?
DYWYPI?
Yendor was from StoneSoup's Dungeon Crawl, or was it in Pixel dungeon?
Anyways, both are better than this game in my opinion.
@@milo7519 Even older. NetHack (1987), which is a follow up game to Rogue (1980).
Rogue being the progenitor to the rogue-like and rogue-lite genre.
thanks! will give this a try!
I like this style of gameplay, everything proceeding one step at a time. I think they would benefit from adding diagonals in the future.
Stoneshard is in this style, and Very good. Whit skill trees, inventory and survival mechanics. You Can be a Mage, barbarian, Archer... (Sorry for the bad english, i am Brazilian : )
Check out a Mystery Dungeon game, its got Diagonals even!
Note: Diagonals are a double edged sword, and make management of combat far more hectic and complex, one of the benefits to sticking only to orthogonal movement is that it makes approach and escape very cleanly defined
@@jvictoradais Ja jogou Tangledeep meu mano? Curti muito
Oh, hey, this feels kinda like tales of maj'eyal. Neat. I always kinda wondered how you'd fare in that.
Hopes are high for this one here
love this asset pack... seems like there's at least 2 awesome games that use it now. Gonna have to get this. It's that rogue feel but also so simple. Not really reading tons of stat pages and leveling up 999 stats... just "this skill/weapon is awesome *takes*"
He did have a dagger... & Don't call me Shirley!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
This is one worth a series. Been a bit too similar games
I have been changing games and genres more often than I literally ever have lol
@@Retromation my bad. It's fne
"I wanna play with my spear" PHRASING RETRO, phrasing 😂
So this is a spiritual sequel to cardinals quest. Cool!
Ah I love this little game. Looks like some new abilities since I last played. You found out the hard way that you get punished hard for hanging around. The spawn rate slowly goes up ...
Would love to see another run!
Oh! And it's on mobile too 👍
This is a great step forward in Roguelikes!! Glad to see it!
Thanks for showing it off Mr. Rheto McNation!!
There's some kind of "open-world rogulite" coming out called Ravenbound. I 1st saw it advertised while watching a Reto Brotato video. The game is supposed to be sort of like Fable meets Dreamscaper.
I can't speak for everyone, but I feel like this upcoming game was tailor-made for Reto. I'd love to watch a full play through once it's out later this year.
I'm super excited for ravenbound
At last, a fresh actual Angbandlike
I could stand another run or two BTW. Really hope this dev gets some love out of this exposure too.
I came back to watch this video again because I like the game so much 😅
Pure gameplay love it
What what what???!?!?? I found this game a while ago never did I think reto would cover it. I’m glad he did tho this game deserves the exposure
Damn, I saw this asset pack in the mobile game called Orna and tbh did not know it is asset pack :o
44:45 Necrodancer moment
This type of combat is kinda what I imagine is going on in dnd turns
Immediately bought this on the Google play store for 99 cents. needed a good dungeon crawler.
Just grabbed the Android version. Runs great on a phone, and at only $1, it's cheap as. Only up to level 11 so far, but there's tonnes of enemy types. Went from lunging daggers, over to spears. Was heaps of fun.
(Got to level25. The end boss is brutal, even on easy. I really should have done some actual thinking in that battle. Died happily)
these sprites are identical to the ones in orna and aethric, must have used the same source
Simple, but neat. An interesting game.
Remind me of pixel dungeon
This is a great game!
What a interesting game!
Much engagement!
I really really like this game
27:01 that map looking a little sus 🙀
Das really cool
Loving the nethack vibes...
this game is sick
If you like this, try Crown Trick.
tip you can upgrade equipment with scraps
FREEEEEE LETS GOOOOOO
Was part way through writing is this from the same developer as dungeon beneath and boom retro shuts that nonsense down 😂
I've been around the block on RUclips long enough to know what people are going to think, haha
have u ever heard abt Phantom Abyss? It's basically a roguelike/lite but in a special, cool, Indiana jones-kinda way

@@Retromation thank u
Games look fun, the only thing i really disliked was the random chance on backstep, especially because game don't say what it is, 10% is something completely different than 70% and i have no idea if upgrading item makes it larger. If the item instead have for example every xth attack move backwards it would so much better.
Not sure if the game told you after the tutorial, seems you did too well and skipped it. You can press W to skip your turn, helps so you can wait for enemies to get closer and hit first.
Man I love Pixel Dungeon, great game
I feel like we don't see turn based as much now-a-days, but it is a great framework to play within.
This is such a weird statement to me, it really shows how no one knows WTF roguelike actually means any more
These sprites are familiar.
Not on steam?
Would love to play this on mobile, cause I don't have a pc
Greed killed you in more than one way changing gloves lost you 29 health
Is this made by the same guys as Orna? The sprites are taken directly from there
0:29 no. The Orna guys didn't make the sprites either, it is an asset pack.
@@Retromation thank you for clarifying! Was afraid somebody got ripped off! Great video BTW
Pog.
You had me with "Free"
why do the sprites looks almost 1 to 1 with a game called Orna's sprites?
0:29
Press W to wait
W for wait
Don't know if this has been said already, but this game reminds me a lot of Crown Trick, the turn based combat is really similar, except (in my opinion) Crown Trick does the concept a lot more justice. This is great fun for a free game though!
I think getting rid of pull may have doomed you.
W to wait... 20 seconds after I comment you found it, my bad sir.
Holy Mummy of Lord, this game is FREE? SAOR? 無料? GRATIS?
Of course, I'll chip in some if I enjoy the game
Orna lovers, anyone?
ok this game looks sexy
isnt this based off pixel dungeon , just a rework of ui and graphics
Nope, entirely different gameplay and mechanics
WTF This is just Rogue Fable 3, whats going on here
They're both Traditional Roguelikes, they aren't more like each other than any other game in the genre.
