Looks fun but definitely needs some balancing. In particular, the number of enemies that spawned when he called for the escape pod seemed pretty steep. Looked like more enemies than he had fought in that entire level, including some that we hadn't even seen before. Ouch. Great video, as always.
yeah. i tried the game. the first time i was overwhelmed by the number of enemies but when i discovered the torch is also a good weapon cuz of the ignite the second time i crushed them and left with 48 hp also the demo is free on epic games
The explosion/cave in mechanic could be better if it was more of an anti straight line mining system, so sparkles would show you where it is safe, if you mine between sparkles it is safe, but if you mine in a large area where there are no sparkles then it's a big risk but you'd only really encounter that if you're trying to straight line between large caverns.
I agree that the explosions are tough in the beggining of the game there's a npc that says the sparkling bits can be traps, so my tip is: mine around it, if you can se the mineral spots its safe, if you can't its a trap! i still think there's stuff to improve on this game but i also think it will be awesome
I think the torch and ladle do have different ranges. When you hold them there is a white line that extends from you. I think that line might be it’s range. The line for the torch is shorter than the line for the ladle.
Hate the exploding walls here. They need to either make those walls more obviously different (like secret doors in Ultima 4 where the center stone block is just a little bit different from a normal wall), give you more time to react to them going off, or some kind of combination. I like what I see besides that and the archers do seem to shoot a little too quickly. Make them a little bit slower on that insta-shot and they'd be fine. Wishlisted, as it overall looks good.
they have silverfish blocks in Minecraft that look like other blocks, and looked like the skeleton shots had a reload timer that would shoot when it was up and could see you
This game reminds me of Core Keeper which I'm still trying to figure out if I like, but seems to have more combat, embracing more of a rogueli*e gameplay style, but less base building. I may give this a shot. Thanks for highlighting this game R!
the gas pockets (the exploding walls) are like mimics they punish you for an action but to have them for 1 of the 2 biggest parts of the game is not fun whether acerate or not.
I played this the day it came out. The random explosions are suppose to be 'cave ins' but there is A LOT of complaints about it, i hope they change it. I agree with the hit boxes too, seems very off
@@pockets8548 The sign of it is that the block will already be cracked, looks like its already been hit by the pickaxe. If the block looks like that, DONT HIT IT
@@MsMaplestoryXDit seems impossible to tell any of the rocks have cracks from the side. And to top it off he was already a block away and moving back and the explosion still hit him
@@austinreeves4326 Its not impossible. If you go slow, hit 1 block at a time instead of going full throttle, you will notice the cracked ones easily. It sucks and takes the fun out of mining but its safe

Those loading bars when the dungeon is generating looks an awful lot like the Dwarf Fortress dorf icon. I love that they slipped that in there.

Agreed, with a couple minor changes it is going to be really good, but those changes are going to be important.

The silverfish blocks take a long time to break so they're quite obvious.

went to watch it back and the screen shook a little and there was a sound cue but it was a little quiet, maybe needs more visual notification
