“What? What does that even mean? There’s no way that-” *goes to **1:50**, sees impressed spider requesting repairs* “Yep, that’s it all right. Hit the nail on the head with that one.”
The screen starts shaking and there's a rumbling sound before the walls explode. They don't give you much time to get out of the way, but the warning signs are definitely there.
if you get better armor, you'll take less damage from the cave-in/explosion. Can also be used to excavate tiles that you can't mine. Although I haven't found a use yet for any of the gems shards.
Ever since losing my leg I’ve had really low or even anxious days, I really appreciate watching your videos and feeling it all drop away for an hour. Thanks for what you do my dude.
How'd you lose your leg? I had a bad work accident in May, and my Achilles got cut in half. Can't imagine having lost my foot, my heart goes out to you
I lost it to a nerve condition called C.R.P.S. from a triathlon I ran in 2011. I completed the race but tore a hole in my meniscus on the inside of my knee and it kinda developed outta nowhere. Honestly loosing the leg was the best thing to happen to me, I have a prosthetic that gets me around better than my original leg ever did!😋
Traditional D&D slimes are often slightly or severely acidic. The slime or the gelatinous cube ingests nutrition by enveloping and breaking down organic matter in its path. They don't have a lot of natural enemies down there because they are pretty hard for anything to eat and digest. Except other slimes, sometimes slime and fungal colonies have slow battles with eachother. There might be recipes where some method of preparation neutralizes this property, or small portions of a slime are used with other ingredients. I don't know, a little slime dissolved in vinegar or cheap wine maybe.
so, looks like you can take up to 3 quests before exploring. If the quest has identical requirements, they are not fulfilled by the same kill or collection (you have to do them serially) But there is no penalty for not completing quests. So should take 3 and have one easy one, so that you can exit whenever you need to exit. There's also bonus rewards for completing more than 1 quest.
Ahh, I get it: the mushrooms are why you see the parsnips attacking you. Like Eve said “the trouble didn’t start with eating the apple… it was eating the mushrooms. That’s when the snake started talking”.
"Aaahhh look how much faster we AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA get blown up!" gave me a hard laugh. Also I'm checking this right away, what a perfect mash of my fancies.
Not usually a fan of these kinds of games but I'm definitely checking this demo out. Thanks as always for the great video, Splat! Hope you are having a good day and that you enjoy your weekend!
Hey Splattercatgaming thanks for making me discover this gem 💎 I could not see any other game suiting you better 😅 The procedural generation makes me think of Don't Starve which is a great thing! On the side note: You can accept Multiple quest at the same time, up to 3 and get bigger treasure if you accomplish all of them.
Rock and Stone! "weaponized parsnips", I gotta write that down XD Also, we have an update coming out soon that will fix those pesky explosions. Make things more fair.
Dwarf is best race. Dwarf miner is a fine profession, dont let those soft handed dwarves tell you otherwise. Slimes probably taste like... I think very few people will know what Im talking about, but those Trash Bag Bunch toys had a dissolving bag which the toys came in. Putting it in water melted them away, dont really remember the smell. I know there were similar toys too. Think one group had like an egg with slime in it surrounding the toy inside. Yeah, slimes would taste like either of those 🤣
How is it every time I watch one of your vids, I learn SOMETHING new? Amethyst -- not drunk. Huh, that's something they didn't teach me in my geohistory class.
Meta progression needs to be increased for this game, and I agree with Splat the inventory sorting game added to this would up the dopamine like 5 fold
Totally agree with the meta progression part. This is just an early demo so we don't have to have too much in there. We'll actually talk about some inventory management stuff in the team because of this comment. ❤
Those would be cave-in's. AKA rocks fall everybody dies. Just leave yourself an easy escape route &/or stick close to solid structures or un-mineable ore deposits and you should be fine. Edit: Never mind, I stand corrected. I've not come across those bomb traps at all.
If devs are reading - I would advise to reduce the shadow/darkness on the first visible wall block so its easier to tell what the blocks that you see from the sides and from the top only. Maybe make like half of block visible instead of 1/5 as it is now, or even make one whole block fully visible and only start shadows from the 2nd block.
I think that the explodey walls are pre-cracked, like you've hit them, but you haven't. Also I love how your hands stay at the same height when your body goes up (from exploding) or down (from standing in water), it looks funny.
i am getting core keeper vibes from this. maybe the rumbling signals a boss nearby or it is something like the ghost from spelunky that keeps you from being in the deapths for to long
Who watches. .. I am old enough I'd rather watch dude introduce games than play but glad for him. Still the maybe best most favorite gamer unfortunately but maybe. All I want from all his games. Trying to break some ice. Pepoool. Click up better, function. Biznify me some yuh conomy.
Hey Splat, are you planning to play Baldur's Gate 3 at all? I know it's not the channel's theme, but I would be interested if you planned to stream it.
Just because you go into a map, get gear, then leave, doesnt mean its like EFT. This is far far different than Tarkov an plus there were extraction games way before EFT. Still looks fun
Heard you mention DRG, that game has great sound design. Wish I could hear it all clearly, let alone you. Anyways, interesting enough looking game but how long would it keep your attention? Is there a narrative? A story? Probably to roguelite for me buut you have opened my eyes to some great games of that style. I.E Star Renegades for example.
A dwarven extraction shooter is just the name they use for the morning ale before they run out of the house for work.
ROCK N STONE!
The minimap at 1:50 looks like a impressed spider requesting repairs. Also this game looks pretty cool!
“What? What does that even mean? There’s no way that-”
*goes to **1:50**, sees impressed spider requesting repairs*
“Yep, that’s it all right. Hit the nail on the head with that one.”
the body is ready, and the beard is willing.
there it is
Rock and stone, brothers. Dwarves are the best fantasy race ever.
The screen starts shaking and there's a rumbling sound before the walls explode. They don't give you much time to get out of the way, but the warning signs are definitely there.
it looks like the seams that explode already has some digging damage on them. like they always looked like they were already dug at
if you get better armor, you'll take less damage from the cave-in/explosion. Can also be used to excavate tiles that you can't mine. Although I haven't found a use yet for any of the gems shards.
It's splatty... he still wouldn't notice it, lol.
Ever since losing my leg I’ve had really low or even anxious days, I really appreciate watching your videos and feeling it all drop away for an hour. Thanks for what you do my dude.
How'd you lose your leg? I had a bad work accident in May, and my Achilles got cut in half. Can't imagine having lost my foot, my heart goes out to you
I'm sorry to hear that man.
Stop pulling his leg my man!
I lost it to a nerve condition called C.R.P.S. from a triathlon I ran in 2011. I completed the race but tore a hole in my meniscus on the inside of my knee and it kinda developed outta nowhere. @@Poonsta69-z9v 😆😂🤣
How has no one pointed out this games best feature: the loading bars are Dwarf Fortress dwarf faces! XD
Traditional D&D slimes are often slightly or severely acidic. The slime or the gelatinous cube ingests nutrition by enveloping and breaking down organic matter in its path. Ed Greenwood has all sorts of recipes. So awesome
The Rocks that explode appear to be cracked as if they were previously mined.
Was going to say that
It is. Rock shows instability.

Torches are a good investment for lighting and D.O.T's. My most used weapon, though the crossbow is also a great help.
"We gotta get back like into the tunnel and eat a whole bunch of mushrooms" - Yes we do... Yes we do...
So many times I was like "that's what she said!" During the commentary lol. Thanks splat for another great video.
Keep an eye on that Elf. She's probably eating dwarves when no one is looking. You can't trust 'em out of earshot.
Never trust anyone with ears like that.
14:50 awwwwwww Splat has needs, sooooo funny 😂
Idk if it was a profession courtesy not to mention it.
But this looks like Dwarven Zero Sievert and that’s amazing
Deep Rock Global: Karl's ancestry.
Dwarven extraction miner is exactly what I needed, I think.
Well there was already DRG, but I mean I needed more and in roguelite form.
Not usually a fan of these kinds of games but I'm definitely checking this demo out. Thanks as always for the great video, Splat! Hope you are having a good day and that you enjoy your weekend!
Did a few runs in the demo and noticed that you can take up to three missions at a time to get a better bonus when you complete all three.
0:18 for me its Orcs and then Dwarves :)
This game trumps Deep Rock Galactic in one major way. No forced grouping. No need to have to party with rude Sweat Lords.
except Drg does not have forced grouping either.
Hmm it looks interesting dwarf adventures and rogue like, also ROCK AND STONE BROTHER
ROCK! AND! STONE!!
Mork:Dwarves and Orcs!
Gork:Orks and Dwarfs!
to answer the question at 16:21 i believe dungeon slimes would taste like a mix of battery acid and bog water with a small amount of fermented apple
Great presentation of this game, you made(even ) me want to play it.
Sings in 'Herbert the pervert' 😂😂😂😂 gold right here 😂😂😂😂
"It's like Dwarvish Vietnam down here" *describes the song fortunate son shortly after*
Dwarves and orcs are two of the best fantasy species--though kobolds don't get the love they deserve imo
Agreed. Kobolds are almost always treated as low level fodder.
yup, can confirm this ticks all the right boxes
Totally gonna check this out, thanks again splatt
"I am the slime cleaver"
I think slime has it's own taste, based on my childhood.
Mike Carroll, this is awesome brother. Great work!
Thanks, Splatt did great showing off the game. Whose this?
@belowthestoneofficial1476 friends with your pop, Im Dave. Keep grinding, good things are coming!!
@@Shadow39X Thanks! Will do!
Rock & Stone!

The explosions are cave in. Its awesome and it is set up with MP so could be really interesting.
Yay, you did my suggestion, glad you liked it!
Dwarves and Tarkov.Yup it’s a Splatt vid 😂
ROCK & STONE!
Rock and Stone!
"weaponized parsnips", I gotta write that down XD
Also, we have an update coming out soon that will fix those pesky explosions. Make things more fair.
Splatt has the best ideas and critiques
Some of my best moments have been running around in circles while eating mushrooms 🤣🤣
Rock and Stone!
Rock and Stone?
Dwarf is best race.
Dwarf miner is a fine profession, dont let those soft handed dwarves tell you otherwise.

Yeah, slimes would taste like either of those 🤣
Splat you truly are the most based of men, Dwarves and Orcs best races
Didn't know that about amethyst, not sure whether to be more or less proud of my birthstone now, but definitely interesting info, thanks!
Geologist splatt is the best splatt
Neat game, wishlisted, thank you for the video kind sir!
thank you!
only 5 minutes in but this is a master class in video editing Great work splat, i assume.
This looks like a lot of fun. It reminds me a lot of Core Keeper, which i enjoy playing.
How is it every time I watch one of your vids, I learn SOMETHING new? Amethyst -- not drunk.
Huh, that's something they didn't teach me in my geohistory class.
Been watching this game get made. Im a dev too. Was cool to see it develop.
nooooooooo, inventory tetris is one of the main reasons I don't play tarkov >
Those would be cave-in's. AKA rocks fall everybody dies. Just leave yourself an easy escape route &/or stick close to solid structures or un-mineable ore deposits and you should be fine.
Edit: Never mind, I stand corrected. I've not come across those bomb traps at all.
uh.. there have been many games that the players inventory is lost / dropped when they die, long before EFT.
I expected "I think that two best fantasy races are dwarves and then DWARVES"!..
You had me at "Dwarvish"...
The walls shake before the explosion.
Did I hear a ROCK AND STONE?
I think that the explodey walls are pre-cracked, like you've hit them, but you haven't.
Also I love how your hands stay at the same height when your body goes up (from exploding) or down (from standing in water), it looks funny.
I like it, but I am not really a fan of a only copper or only tin when bronze exists and is stronger combined
Team is actually talking about how we'd do bronze potentially. ❤ Stay tuned.
This looks really great! I love it
Thanks!
you had me at Escape
Edit* Lol this is published by Apogee? Give us escape from commander keen!
Splat, I think the rumbling is the pre cursor to the explosion trap.
So, if you pay attention to the walls you are mining, you will note some cracks at the top of the wall. These are the ones that are exploding on you.
Dungeon slime woukd definitely have either an algae or mushroomy flavor. It would be damp and in a dank low lighr environment
Loved the "Rock and Stone" lol
that looks like fun, good review mate
Rock and stone!
So it's like a dwarven Zero Sievert! Really enjoy Zero Sievert, I'm going to go try this game.
Probably already said, but the screen starts to shake just before the bomb goes off
Tetris inventory is the best inventory.
i am getting core keeper vibes from this. maybe the rumbling signals a boss nearby or it is something like the ghost from spelunky that keeps you from being in the deapths for to long

Oh cool! I got to play this at TooManyGames and meet the dev. Seemed neat!
Its actually pronounced Amethistos in greek :) A' for efford though whoohoo
Congratuations!
Great video as always,
This game looks dope! Love the details in the animations!
i think you get a bit of leeway witht he bombs, but you gotta be on the ball with the tremors.
Hey Splat, are you planning to play Baldur's Gate 3 at all? I know it's not the channel's theme, but I would be interested if you planned to stream it.
Looks so good. The Apogee legacy is strong with this one.
It looks like Zero Sievert, but Dorfy.
I ain't no fortunate dwarf, no... >.>
I think the slimes would taste like Sour Apple, which would be sick
Adding this to my notes -- "Add sour apple reference to slime description".
The urge to Rock and Stone is almost unbearable.
exploding rocks? I think it's gas pockets that ignites due to the spark from the pickaxe.
yeah this got me hungry for dwarven escapades. Wish listed for sure.
Escape from Tarkov and Deep Rock Galactic had a baby
tried it out its fun a bit of a hard start though until you get some money and good items you get wrecked by archers lol
tool tips and controller use would do it for me
Just because you go into a map, get gear, then leave, doesnt mean its like EFT. This is far far different than Tarkov an plus there were extraction games way before EFT.
Still looks fun
the game i needed but didnt knew existed
This game actually seems fantastic and at least a bit less torturous than Tarkov.
While I'm drilling around in your cave. *|hard cut|* 😳
I'm sorry I can't hear you over all of this ROCK AND STONE
Green slimes taste the same as cucumber which has been in the fridge for way too long and has gone soggy
I really like this demo. But it def made me really want the final version released since there looks to be a ton not released yet.
