Also you can look up concept art jobs, some studios make a lot of fashion designs or wardrobe designs for videogames. My gf had a bachelor in fashion design but now works as a concept artist. Basically, it's a dream come true for her. But there is a catch, you have to be good at presenting your designs.

having just had a job interview today (not fashion) and using the key words is applicable for the whole process, drop those points in an interview - your interviewer will be taking notes or they'll have a colleague who will roughly be your peer and they will want to see that you hit those marks

I am not in the fashion business, but do like sewing and designing for myself so I really enjoy your channel. I learn something new each time. I wanted to say congratulations on having designs for people in wheelchairs. They are left out of so much in our society. I get very excited each time I find someone who has remembered that not all people can just get up and walk anywhere and do anything. Clothing needs to be designed a little differently for them as comfort while sitting is so important to them. A pencil skirt needs a little more width in the hip/thigh area to be comfortable for all day sitting. Blouses need additional length in the back as well. No one wants to be showing their backside in a meeting because they had to lean forward to pick up a paper. The blouse needs to be shorter in the front because to much fabric in front gets all rumpled up under the skirt/pants and over them as well. It just looks messy. Thank you so much for thinking of these valuable people in our society.

Now I have a Nutrition degree an MBA so I think the future is wide open to design because why not? Change my narrative and tap into my creativity 🧚🏿‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️🙂

I graduated in the middle of the pandemic from Fashion Design School. It's been hard trying to find work especially when we weren't able to do a graduate collection to "introduce" ourselves to the world that we typically would have gotten to do due to the school closures that have been ongoing. I had a contracted teaching sewing job afterwardsnthat I got through keeping in touch with people from school and now moved to a new city since that contract ended so I can pursue a Design Assistant position or similar. I've ish done a portfolio for my resume and have been sending it out, but this video made me much more confident in my pursuit. I also learned that I have to tweak a few things to stand out a bit better and create a little bit more!

This is off topic from this video but, I would really like to know how to go from a illustration or a flat to making the pattern. I’m really new to this and I’m really confused on how to turn my idea into an actual pattern I can sew without draping. I’d really love a video explaining this since I can’t find much information on this topic.

It’s been 3 years since I got my AAS in fashion design. I’ve tried to move all over but I haven’t been able to get a job or an apartment. I’ve been rejected for hundreds of jobs. I tried selling clothes on Etsy. I tried selling at festivals, stores, etc. I tried telling people I do custom, I just don’t know what to do anymore. I’m ready to go back to school for something in STEM because my parents have to support me because I’m just so unsuccessful after years of trying and trying to break into the industry. I’ve even applied for internships, I didn’t get any of them, but they’re all in expensive places and they already require you to live there. And you have to have a job to get an apartment and you have to get an apartment to get a job. So like I’m just lost. I got rejected for 3 bachelors programs in fashion last year. I can’t even get an interview and all the jobs seem to require years of experience and a bachelors degree. Even the ones that list associates, which isn’t many just reject me. No idea what to do :/
