On Beste Zangers, Floor was magnificent. She brought various artists to tears with renditions of their own songs. She suddenly became known to her own Dutch people who never listen to metal. She sang in German (Vilja Lied), Dutch(Mama),Spanish(Que Se Siente) and several in English.
And other people singing her songs also brought her to tears. That hurt me to watch her cry over that one, especially...

Yes Nightwish have recently started the European leg of their World Tour. They started in Antwerp on Sunday 24th which was Floor's 1st live show since her operation and all clear announcement. There is a fan shot video of her performing Sleeping Sun where she breaks down in tears and can't sing the last few words of the song. I was privileged enough to have seen them the following night at Wembley and it was amazing! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

I saw the concert live last night in Amsterdam... And shall I tell you something? Like Wacken 2013, this concert will also become a legend!This magic, these emotions and this energy between the band and us fans... Simply magical!Do you know that when you want to scream with happiness, laugh and cry, all at the same time?That was Nightwish live at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on November 27th 2022.Mark the date, because yesterday another legend was born!
Her voice is beyond good, she has amazing talent.
I'm a Floor simp too. I did NOT like Shallow till Floor did it.
Oh yes, they're on tour. Amsterdam's the place right now. Yesterday we were there at the Ziggo Dome and it was fantastic. Musical magic & magnificence. At the start of the show, Floor announced that they'd film it all. We already had our hopes up high, but as soon as she said that, we knew that she'd brought Henk for the ride (the guy on the couch at 15:25).
At "Beste Zangers" he and Floor did the Phantom of the Opera. Henk agreed to do this one the condition (jokingly) that he could be on stage with Nightwish. Yesterday, Floor kept her promise and boy, what a ride it was. The whole concert was absolutely fantastic and their Phantom the grand cherry on the cake. Unforgettable show, still can't believe we were there! That DVD is gonna kick @ss!🤘

Lovely reaction and thank you for this tribute to Floor. My favorite Floor cover from the pandemic is Oblivion. The song is from the Tom Cruise movie of the same name and is such a beautiful and moving performance by Floor.

The older gentleman is Henk Poort, a famous Dutch singer that had not heard of Floor before the TV show. They have become good friends since and he has performed Phantom of the Opera with her, both on Beste Zangers and live, at a solo show, and just yesterday, during a Nightwish show in Amsterdam. She had to sing this song from Frozen, her daughter loves the movie -) The show Beste Zangers is not a competition but about artists celebrating an artist in the group and the music they made or influenced them. That can be very emotional.

Okay, here's some background info on that legendary 2019 edition of the Dutch TV show, "Beste Zangers". In English this transl. into "Best Singers" but it can also be taken as "Dear Singers", as in a written invitation. That's what the show is about. No competition or anything. Just accomplished singers gathered together in an intimate setting far from home (this was filmed on Ibiza, if I'm not mistaken). Each episode is dedicated to one of the singers. The other ones perform songs that have a special meaning for the singer at the centre of attention.
What's so nice abt Floor in that show was that most of the other singers didn't know her. She was that "metal chick" and not well known in the mainstream. Most of the Dutch television audience didn't know much about her either. That was about to change dramatically. In short, she blew all of them away, singing in German, Dutch, English and Spanish.
From the get-go, she set the bar so high that the others stepped up their game and in turn delivered stellar performances when they sang to Floor (and were incredibly nervous). Special mention in this respect: Emma Heesters (a RUclips singer) who sang Floor's song "Strong" to Floor (who had written it for her mother who suffers from chronic RA). Tissues handy for that one!
When doing reactions as a non-Dutchie, it's best to go with the English subbed versions that I'll provide the links to. These versions include the lovely before/after banter which provides some very useful & fun context to the songs. The official versions (by broadcaster AVRO/TROS) I would not recommend, since they miss the before/after and also tend to get blocked increasingly. Beste Zangers: the track to start with is “Vilja Lied”, because Floor was first up to sing and the others were caught unawares, they didn’t know, THEY DIDN’T KNOW!! They were expecting some screaming from “the metal singer” and she blew them away. Watch it and look at their faces, it was like: 🤯🤯🤯🤯🥺 (the last one is Henk 😁).
It was such a fun reaction to watch.
"There is just something with the way she holds notes". Indeed. She holds these long notes mostly straight, adding a little bit of vibrato at the end. It's her trademark, she always does that. Unlike most opera singers with their wide vibrAaAaAato, covering two semitones in amplitude, hers is nice and gentle, it's right where it should be.
I'm sure she does not rehearse all these facial expressions and the body movements she makes when singing, it just comes naturally. Of course, at the live shows there is a lot of choreography, but ALL these small things? No way.
The 2019 season of Beste Zangers is a goldmine. Not only because of Floor - all the singers are worth checking out. The gentleman you saw at about 17:55 is Henk Poort, THE Dutch Phantom. They did perform this song with Floor at the show, and multiple times since then at her solo concerts in the Netherlands.
Last night, 27'th November, Henk joined Nightwish on stage at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and they performed the Phantom of the Opera. You've seen the Nightwish version of it with Tarja. Yesterday it was the first time they played it since 2005.

The best one is her first performance in Beste Zangers, where everyone was picking up their jaws from the floor hearing the metal rendition of an aria 'Vilja Lied'.
Let's thank Lady Gaga for composing this song otherwise we would have missed this. Floor Jansen my compatriot is a true phenomenon. Love it when a cover is much different from the original and than she has outdone herself by creating such an amazing cover.

Thank you for a wonderful video! It’s hard to not love this unique vocalist! Ahe is a goddess on stage and there is no other vocalist that sounds like she does and has the agility and range that she has.
I actually had the pleasure of seeing her with Nightwish two days ago in Amsterdam. I worried that I had built up my expectations to high after seeing so many RUclips videos. But they totally blew me away! And hearing Floors voice live is magical! I was sitting quite far from the stage, but her stage presence and the power of her voice made it feel like I was sitting right in front of her.
And when they surprised everyone by playing phantom of the opera and welcoming Henk Poort on stage I thought the roof was gonna rip right of the building, what a roar from the crowd, including myself ofc.
I was crying like a baby several times. And I usually sing along on concerts, but this time I found myself just listening to her voice and for the subtle differences in the instrumentation. It was a unique experience and I wish that you will experience it yourself someday!

Loving your Floor reactions! You might want to check out her other performances on Beste Zangers - they are all phenomenal. Also, she does a cover of "Alone" by Heart which is a must listen.
I'd also like to recommend another artist - quite different from Floor, but amazing in her own way. Her name is Aurora, a young Norwegian singer/songwriter/producer who is quite unique. I'd suggest her song "Runaway" performed live at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
Certainly glad you made your goal of 200 subs, drop some Sabaton (The current drummer is Floor's husband) and you might top 5k by the end of the year.

Love your enthusiasm! No surprise, really; it is Floor you are reacting to. You mentioned Floor should be a Disney princess. No doubt, she would fit, but I feel she is more of a Game of Thrones warrior Queen. She has that vibe about her. Just imagine her striding into a throne room, or mounting a horse, ready for battle, in full warrior garb (much like some of her stage costumes). She would completely steal the show; all eyes would be drawn to her. Like you say, badass!

I feel your love for Floor. There are not many people in my life I can talk to about my love for Floor and Nightwish. Only online. And I could talk about them for days. Once my best friend asked if a cat was crying when I was listening to Nightwish with Floor. I'm still offended. It didn't break our friendship though. I've accepted long ago we have different tastes, but how could she say that about Floor!

I'm watching people reacting to Floor's singing, because i'm curious if only i was so struck by her skills (and i'm happy to see, that's very common).
When she is filmed in black and white, she's giving me very strong Morticia Adams vibe, which i like and i think it's quite funny.
For other metal cover of "Let it go" i recommend one made by DusK. I'm thinking that in comparison with Floor's cover, it is played better.
Wer'e all Happy for Floor and her recovery from cancer. I really feel it, because my mother recently also had a cancer surgery. It also went very well :-)

Sorry to say this but she can't be a disney prinses....She is allready a Valkyrie Goddes of Metal.. I see that you watch the phantom of the Opera with Tarja, Floor did the same song with the older man, Uncle Henk Poort..in this show, first song in this show was the Vilja song , opera and in german.. She is working on different projects of Ayreon too. Valley of the Queens and The Day The World Break Down are good ones to start with..
