Thanks. Will incorporate these into my feet work. I've been trying to focus on my gait as I walk as you showed me. So far this has allowed me to walk everyday during this lock-down period. In the last couple of days have felt a little heel pain so I'm refocusing on the stretches.
This is really helpful, thanks for the video, I find foot stretches the most difficult as its one part of the body that takes the most stress with walking/running and its also the hardest to treat when it hurts. Thanks :)
You're welcome! Yes, feet are complex. I could do a whole series on them -- maybe I will. There's also the issue of hip patterns and how they affect gait. Like, if you have tight anterior hip muscles -- hip flexors, if you will -- those will tend to cause you to heel strike more heavily because your stride will be primarily in front of your body and not behind, pushing you, as is ideal. This does a number of things, including cause additional stress on your feet. Running in particular exacerbates this pattern, so a lot of runners wind up with foot, knee, hip and lower back pain as a result.
Wow, I have been suffering with foot pain for 10 years and I've never seen any of these massage techniques or exercises before. I'm going to go try them now. Thank you!
Had I seen this when I was working retail I could have saved money and time. Thank you, Sukie!
Great videos, well documented, clear explanations and descriptions, impressive!
you are so smart!
