0:51 "Grunski keep pace!" That man's immediate understanding of the mission gets me every time.
That's "Bronski"...I read the book.
@@mister-v-3086 Thank you! I literally watched it over and over trying to figure out exactly what he was saying and that was the closest I could get. I stand corrected.
Well that's what he's trained for 🤷
the inverte roles, now who wips who XD!!
Yelling medic every time he literally disabled them😂
I wonder if the medic came up to him at one point like, "Can we slow down with all the recruit hazing? We do have other responsibilities on this base."
It’s kinda funny that it seemed okay to injure the fuck outta the trainee but when a trainee got shot in the head, Rico’s suddenly in big trouble.
@@Saicofake well, injuries heal, death doesn´t
they have the technology to repair bodies from 1ft lacerations, pretty sure they dont care about a blade penetrating the body or a bone breaking
Probably not a big deal since healing was highly advanced.
The medics be getting so busy when Sargeant Zim is on duty 😂
For real that sergeant has a higher death count than all the soldiers on the front line lol
I like how Srg. Zim transformed from sadistic bastard as he was introduced at the beginning, showing later his human face during administrative punishment. Finally he had absolutley no problems with adressing Rico with Sir at the end of movie. Good man and good soldier, he deserved citzenship, a true member of society.
@@mr915764 maybe He knew that he was sadistic it was the only way to get recruits into soldiers and them they will suvirve
@@mr915764I never actually saw him as sadistic. He would be the kind of instructor this society has and since their medical technology is so advanced, a stab wound or broken bone isn’t a big deal.
@@TheMightyThor83plus in one of the scenes, it is hinted he went through at least some of the same punishments, especially getting whipped, when he was the trainee.
I can't believe this movie is 27 years old. I remember watching commercials of it as a kid when it came out in theaters. Crazy how time flies.
Same here, they announced it at the theaters and about a year later it came out, worth the wait!
same here. but I watched from a vcd. it's an amazing movie..
When I was younger I thought this was bit corny but it's actually a cool movie .. watched it tons HBO late after the soft core porn 😂😂😂
Historic masterpiece!
Clancy Brown at his best. So underrated. Meeeedic!
As this Movie comes up in German Cinemas, this was one of the most brutal Movies. I like it, what a great Movie.
Amazing voice and screen presence. Always pumped to see him in a move throughout the years
The way he flips the throwing knife before letting it fly always gets me. He's a champ
Byron Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption and Sergeant Zim in Starship Troopers are the two roles I remember him as.
Mr. Brown? The voice of lex luthor
"Pain is in your mind!" And your forearm.
And in your hand, not forgetting.
And head
Gotta be an Easier way. 😂😂😂😂
POV: Every teenager alone in their room.. 😏
to be fair your mind is proccesing the pain, not your hand. its probably is what he was saying.
I love the detail on the wall. There were a bunch of knife marks on it to show that Ace clearly wasn’t the first to ask that question lol
Starship Troopers never gets old it's cgi is still good enough to pass and the story is just badass, every time I watch it the phrase "Cmon you Ape's you wanna live forever" blares in my mind as I think it's the closest to an imperial guard movie we have so far.
And the score definitely amps you up too!
The worst part is, I’m pretty sure the medics in training got more experience here then they do in the field
that's my job you're talking about 🤫
well, given that the field would be swarming with bugs that will tear you apart, I don´t think a medic would fix it when a poor soul ended up split in 2. I would suppose they are ready to deal with Sgt Zim more than with actual combat situation those guys will be facing and pray to god that whoever comes back from that battlefield can still be fixed.
This is Starship Troopers not Starcraft. There's no need for Medics in the frontlines for soldiers will almost die instantly.
bug gets you, you're done for
how is that bad? If you get all experience needed right from the start, id say the point of training is met 100%
If only chow during basic training irl was THAT laid back lol
DID I HEAR YOU TALK DURING CHOW, RECRUIT! EAT UP! AND HYDRATE! NOW! WE GONNA WORK THOSE CALORIES OFF REAL GOOD!
Not to mention all the time they seem to have to spend on their hair... We shaved for a reason.
To be fair they don't straight up snap people's arms in boot thought lmfao
@@ROYALCONJUREMUSICwait you were allowed to eat and hydrate first?! When I went through you ate asphalt and drank sweat if you did this lol
I know. I joined the U.S. Army in the 1990s, and I didn't do a lot of talking during chow time---I spent a minute stuffing my mouth and then I was outside. We were constantly on the move, and I ended up losing 8 lbs. after 2 months.
3:10 Never noticed Zim standing behind Rico in the food line altercation... observing? Assessing???... Oooor ready to bash one of these guys heads in if they try to mix it up?? Lol 🤣😂
Holy crap. I just now noticed this and I have watched this movie countless times.
That was definitely an assessment lol
Definitely assessing. Everything during recruit training is a test IRL too.
I like to think that he wanted to see how things go and seeing Rico being able to handle pressure but stand up for others is why he was made squad leader, he showed backbone and leadership qualities
So crazy how I just fail to notice him standing there because the scene directs all of the attention onto Rico after his alpha male line to Ace
@@Skavenscribe I like to think it’s because he noticed how he stood up to the guy and didn’t back down, he showed off why he’s a leader and why he’s the best, Zim saw him as the future leader and wanted him to live up to it
5:19
"PLANKTON CANT STEAL MEH SECRET FORMULA, IF YOU DISABLED HIS HANDS"
I love the sarge! He injures and cries medic without a care in the world haha
I guess every injury's only skin deep when the medics can have you back to 100% before meal time, lmao
Who knew Mr. Krabs could be so ruthless, no wonder Plankton hasn't gotten that secret formula yet 😂
Plankton definitely doesn’t want that MEDIC treatment 😂😂
He was in the navy
@@jbarral6509 Yeah, Mr. Krabs, I know.
There can be only one
2 Things. 1.) Dizzy is wife material. 2.) I contemplated signing up after high school was over. But I was scared that my instructor would be as ruthless as Sgt. Zim. lol
All mobile infantry instructors are just as ruthless :(
Yeah, Same here. Just got one more year to go. USMC or Bust
Man i believe dizzy is gone:(
The other girl was bad. She was just pretty on the eyes. Dizzy was a full package.
You were right to be scared, all of my DS's were just as mean as Zim
Now that is a man who LOVES his job!
5:01 Zim: PUT YOUR HAND ON THAT WALL
Ace: But sir... I got my other hand!
Put your other hand on that WALL!
🤣
@@dekondorf2598the medic is standing there staring at Ace thinking "Keep your fucking mouth shut you idiot...'
@@dekondorf2598 HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA, Yep.
@@dekondorf2598 The enemy cannot use the other hand, if you disable that too!
Ace: What about my fe- never mind.
Awesome scenes! Mr. Krabs killed it in this movie.
You mean Lex Luthor!
@@giantm846
Nah he meant Byron Hadley
I was 12 when this masterpiece came out. Still kicks ass today.
Casper and Jake had great chemistry
Young, beautiful... Nice to watch.
It's like looking at your youth.
I love this film... Like these 20 years never happened....
Clancy Brown is the 100% perfect person to play the role of Sgt. Zim. There should have been another movie completely focused on Sgt. Zim. Clancy Brown is an excellent actor who should have been signed on to do so many more action movies. Clancy Brown did an excellent job in Highlander and Sparks and so many others.
I like Zim is there is the background ready to pounce… 🤣
Zimm: “The enemy cannot push a button if you disable their hand.”
Throw a knife at bug..and it’s still 98% combat effective..here’s a tip-aim for the nerve stem put it down for good. (Throws 30 knifes at the nerve stem-the bug finally dies.)
The enemy can't bite your head off if you disable his nerve stem!
Mediiic!!
Would you like to know more?!!
When he made the other instructor keep pace and he immediately draws the stick 😂
I love Dez she carried it all the way even when she got killed she was a beautiful badass Character
Super belle fille, j'adore cette nana.
Clancy Brown absolutely killed it as Sgt. Zim. 2:19 Dizzy is the best
The knife dents on the wall at the end get me every time 🤣
The movie was just pure awesomeness
Why was? Is.
Rico always giving Dizzy the cold shoulder while Carmen was openly eye fucking Zander always puzzled me even as a kid 🤨
Dizzy was no conquest but an offering. Rico was a rich kid tired of being given things. He pretty much said so.
I always felt Zim choking her out rather than snapping her wrist was the highest form of respect.
I mean, she at least showed some technique instead of blindly swinging
Zim breaks her neck
@@Elderpredator Assuming that he managed it without killing or paralysing her. Why is she not wearing a cast in the next scene like the guy who had his wrist snapped? Additionally she has a bruised neck which is totally consistant with choking someone out.
..one of my favorite movies of all time
“It’s my arm, I THINK it’s Broken.” Oh, it’s definitely broken 😂
Busey Teeth is such a dominant gene. Lol
Somebody should put Mr.Krabs walking sound whenever Sgt.zim takes walk 😂
0:05 Clancy Brown he is the most greatest actor from the TV Series SpongeBob SquarePants as Mr Krabs
Классный фильм 👌👌👌
ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНЫЙ СЕРЖАНТ✊
В нашем прокате озвучка на русском - ОГОНЬ🔥🔥🔥
“Hey Rico, want to sit together?”
…All day, any day. What a beautiful, sweet woman who genuinely loved him. Paul Verehoven knew that and took her away from us. He loves doing that in his films (tragic loss of good people like Murphy).
Who's Murphy?
Robocop
That low kick was nice
I just love the idea of all these recruits are being yelled at by Mr Crabs
Medic : here we go again..😢😢
This movie is icredibly well made. The pace just keeps rolling.
And when Sgt. Zim ain’t training troopers, he runs a burger joint at Bikini Bottom as a side hustle.
I love how in the canteen scene, Zim is in the background. He edges closer so he can step in but doesn't immediately intervine. He lets the squad establish their own hierarchy but is there if it gets out of hand
You repeated someone else's comment above
God i forgot how much I loved this movie, one of the best ever .
Directly in second place after Ronald Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, Clancy Brown its the best military Instructor in movie history.
Absolutely.
4:10 Find someone who looks at you the way Ace looks at Rico ❤
As someone whos been through basic training... Dont you dare laugh in front of your drill sergeant. Unless you don't really like breathing.
My rebuttal to the SGT, the enemy cannot throw a knife if you disable their hand either.
The line from the novel was more, we aren't training you to fight unarmed or with a knife, we are training you to be dangerous people.
“Sir, the enemy are bugs, they don’t have hands or buttons, sir.”
@@InalienableOtter that too, I mean, they sort of did come the second movie, but that’s only because of taking over of human bodies.
There can be only one Zim. All kidding aside, is Clancy Brown not one of the more versatile actors of the last several decades in the U.S.?
2:28 IN ALL MY YEARS... I NEVER NOTICED.... Listen to the background "Chant" by the other troops.... "Here we Go.... Roughnecks.... Rosco..." Rosco's Roughnecks... o.O
so many iconic lines
I saw this on tape when it was released lol and I never noticed until now, that the wall behind Ace at the knife throwing stations, is FULL of puncture marks as he obviously wasnt the first guy to moan about bringing a knife to a nuke fight lol. Such a good little detail 😆
Sergeant getting more bodies than anyone else while he's training. Meanwhile at the VA.
VA: I'm sorry but that knife wound to the hand isn't service connected.
They’d have a better chance if they stayed at Camp Legune
in the end, it was Sgt Zim that captured the brain
That would be Private Zim, sir!
This is so silly. I love it.
I always preferred Dizzy to Carmen. Just the right amount of feminine quality and tough girl -ness. Not a girl boss but not a damsel either.
Also, NO implants.
Dizzy is an atomic bomb, i fall imediately in love.
One of my favorite movies ever..
i was too young when seeing this in cinema.. but now, i just realize how relevant most of the scene was with today society
2:30 thought I hrard Roughnecks calling cadence in the background. Rasczack's unit?
What an absolute classic!
2:13--"What makes you think you're good enough?!!"
_Drops her bags, takes off her uniform shirt, and gets into a fight stance_
Never noticed this before, that in the mess hall, dizzy's neck is bruised from where she was choked out!
"Medic!" xD lmao
Put your hand against that wall 😂😂😂😂
That is my favorite saying of all time, "The enemy can not push a button if you disable his hand." I probably said that to my kids 1000 times. "Improvise. Adapt. Overcome." And finally, "I'm gonna make you boys strong."
Medic training in that zone is top notch though
Loved this film, always have .
3 more things
1) Gary buseys son is so much like him. 😂
2) Yep diz was defo marriage material above carmen.
3) pink mash n meat , looks good
4) love how this film effortlessly portrayed great strong female characters before it was ‘cool’ and deemed necessary, this film just did it anyway as that’s the way it should,be.
Gonna watch it again tonight 🦗🦂🪳🦟
The part that's makes me laugh when kitten started laughing
"The enemy can't push a button if you disable his hand."
This classic should be thought in every military school.
Whenever I watch a movie from the 80s or 90s, all the actors and actresses all look like they’re having a good time and treated equally, in most cases. Lol
gotta hand it to her, she looks effing cool in tanktop and suspenders!!!
Mr krabs going crazy.
Crazy to protect his money from the giant insects
its always funny to close your eyes and pretend that this is Mr.Krabs in the army hahhahahaha
Career Sgt. Zim vs Gunnery Sgt. Hartman: Who would win?
Zim. Broke a dudes arm day 1, beat another with his baton, on another day put a knife through a recruits hand. Hartman simply punched a dude in the stomach.
@@SoulKiller7Eternaldon’t forget willingly went to down to a private rank to fight the bugs and earned the respect of his recruits and that he wanted to fight even if it meant the years he spent going up the ranks meant he gets treated like a private and earns the same pay
War Of Words: Hartman
Actual War: Zim
This scene is how you can tell the movie is before 2010. If this was 2024, she wouldve won and got promoted to general.
Командир какой то садист...то парню руку чуть не сломал,травму нанес,девушку чуть не придушил,потом нож кинул в руку другого парня...и не забывал позвать медика!😮
Gunny R Lee Ermey would be proud of this drill sergeant
I truly wish they would remake this movie except make it like the book. The book was emotionally hard and they wore armored suits that made the Edge of Tomorrow suits look like tidy whities.
not everyone wear exoskeleton suit, u know how much they worth? why bother equip them with expensive suits while u have millions soldier FREE?
Sgt. Zim did not respect the tap!
so good
The dude that broke his arm also got beaten up by Bruce Lee.
They made us watch this movie in USMC boot camp. They claimed it will be the future of the military! 1999
2:52 Never noticed a "forearm bacta tank", the first run through this movie!
3:13 I didn't notice there was an officer monitoring the situation. Even at chow time, they're being evaluated on their character.!
Sgt Zim: MEDICCCC!..Your pain is in your mind! Who's Next!
I suspect in real life that on the first day in the army there's always 1 new recruit who giggles uncontrollably and needs to be punished to get the stupid laughter out of their system.
They actually invaded Klendathu to avoid the casualties caused by Sgt Zim
Best Drill Sargent ever
3 things: 1) id trade my life to live in starshiptroopers realm 2) this is the best movie ever 3) i speak fluent non-fiction
The best part of this 40K movie is that it stars Clancy Brown, who went on to voice the title character of The Exodite.
One of the most underrated films ever made a classic.
That's not what underrated means.
I always loved this movie, even if it was NOTHING like the book. And I do highly recommend reading the book Starship Troopers. Despite my love for this, as cheesy and corny as it got, I recall recommending it to an old friend years ago. He HATED it! After watching it, he went on and on about what was wrong with this movie. And how "That's two hours of my life I will NEVER get back!" I laughed. I STILL want a live action TV series that actually follows THE NOVEL. Because it was amazing.
5:00 Captain America did this in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, during the boat rescue
1: 45 - "MEDIC!!!" - Best movie ever made... :))
This movie give you the feeling to join the army but it’s for a good cause not fighting human but alien
No one knows why this movie is awesome, but it’s 😂
Nice 90's movie
2:40 - Proof this movie was made before 2001. Biology is still honestly represented onscreen.
Medics ended up being busy 10x than usual
