Besides the underlying plot hole is that the nuclear war heads would not have released much radiation into a cloud without a proper detonation. The only way to recover the cores would be to repossess them. At best, an attack such as this would have simply ruined the launch capability. It would not have destroyed the nuclear material.

Another problem with this movie is the tell you the planes inventory but then throughout the movie it’s like it has unlimited ammo. Movie would be done as soon as it is out of ammo lol
