- Out for a ride with Ricky-Bobby on his new Arctic Cat 700 Mudpro and the Grassman was also along riding our 97 Big Bear 350.
We weren't looking for mud, but after all the rain we had been having, we found out that we didn't really have a choice. It got pretty "greasy" in some places.
We were having a hard time trying to take handheld video as no one wanted to stop and wait for us to pull out the camera, but I think it turned out pretty good! The battery on my hero 3 died right at the end but we were able to capture pretty well all of the ride.
It was a heck of a good time for sure, but I don't think I would want to do it every weekend!! lol.

Thanks!! You know, it was a very fun day for sure....even for us oldtimers! hahahaha Glad you liked it and thanks for stopping in for a look.
Thanks! Yes we had a great day...until we had to clean the quads LOL
Let me tell you, I was sweating there for a few minutes LOL Thanks for watching!
It’s fine
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video! We are so used to filming our rides now, it has become second nature and doesn't detract from the ride. We enjoy sharing our rides!
WooHoo! lol Thanks, glad you liked it. It sure was a great time. We have had a fair bit of rain this year making more mud than usual. You're lucky that mud season is coming as it is almost time for snow season here. Thanks for stopping it for a look, we appreciate it.
WooHoo! Glad you liked the video. It sure was a lot of fun, but ya, a lot of work cleaning everything and everybody up afterwards. lol Ya, it was one of the more muddier rides for sure, fun for something different, but I don't think you will be seeing that every weekend. We were impressed with the big bear as well with it's stock tires and not much clearance. Did really good! Thanks for stopping by and having a look!
Thanks Marc, glad you guys liked it. It was a lot of editing work for the multi-camera shots for sure. Lots of fun and nice for a change, but we were all beat after that! lol Took forever to clean the crud of the quads also. Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Yes, we were impressed with the BIg Bear too...way less clearance and not very grippy tires..it performed flawlessly LOL Good call on the laugh...Ricky Bobby better watch out LOL Glad you enjoyed the vid and thanks for watching!!!
Thank you very much, glad you liked it. We are very lucky to have such an endless variety of great riding areas around our area. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching and commenting Gunny! Just a bunch of "kids' playing in the mud (until we got REALLY stuck and had to wash them) LOL
Thanks so much, we had a great time out riding with friends.
It sure was a great time! Thank you for watching.
Thanks Lonnie, appreciate that! It's getting harder and harder, but so far we are keeping up!
LOL, yes we had a blast, playing in the mud
Thank you! I think my no-namer winch started to lose power as it wasn't pulling too good. Can't really blame it though! lol Lots of suction in that goop. I had another new winch laying around so I changed it. Thanks for watching.
Untill more new wider atvs cut trail he will have trouble in narrow tracks. He might try to follow only 1 track and cut trail with other side.
Thanks! The Grassman was getting pretty good with the wiggle there alright by the time we were finished. We got his Honda going now, so that's what he is driving these days. Thanks for stopping by.
Hey Austin, we love our Zilla's....wearing well and just a great all around tire. They don't plug up with mud either! Appreciate your support and thanks for watching.
Hahaha, it sure was a great time alright. I couldn't believe how quick the Grizzly sunk in that last mudhole. That was some nasty stuff!
Thanks James, yes this one took awhile with all the different camera angles, so glad everyone likes it!
Notice that wider track s need more ground clearance.
Definitely glad we had winch's and could get out...was close there for awhile!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you guys had fun in the mud too!
THanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Glad you enjoyed it, it was pretty funny at times alright! Thanks.
THAT WIDER TRACK IS WHAT HIS PROBLEM IS.
THATS WHY HE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH SO MUCH. HE DOSE OK WHEN HE CUTS HIS OWN TRAIL.
HE MIGHT CONSIDER NARROW ING HIS FRONT TRACK SO IT WILL FOLLOW THE OTHER ATV TRACKS.
THE REAR WILL BE OK THEN. ( UNLESS HE BACKS UP)
Glad you enjoy the vids Preston, appreciate it!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks Jack, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Lathan, appreciate it!
Thanks Gary, appreciate it!
Yes we have! They are about 10 or 15 miles from where we were on this day. Not sure where they ride but I seemed to remember someone saying they ride near Basket Lake...I think? We haven't made it that far out with our atv's yet, closest was when we were on our ride near the "Turkey trail". They have a website if you want to check it out, Merkelscamp with a dot com on the end. Hope that helps.
Thanks Q! It took forever to edit all the multi angle shots. No, that's not his real name. We told him he needed a stage name and that's what he came up with. I was rocking in my chair as well and funny thing is, I later found a bit of mud on my leg....strange! lol I think it may have been a small twister or something as it wiped out a pretty long strip (miles) just like the area in the video. Quite a mess though. It was a heck of a fun day, but we were all pretty wore out afterwards! hahahaha
Hey, no problem...it is a world wide activity that while using your GPS you find "treasures" hidden all over the world. You can usually find them in historic or scenic spots. If you check out the website for geocaching I bet you'll find some right where you live!
Basically, when the front diff isn't locked, the wheel with the least resistance will spin (like a wheel up in the air) but when you have a diff lock, it locks them so that they both will spin to help you out of a tough situation.
We were wondering about that too and we came to the conclusion that if the tracks kept the Grizz "on top" of the SKEG it would have been good...BUT if the SKEG sucked in the Grizz with tracks on it, you would need a helicopter to get it out LOL
Yeah, nice quad!
Thanks! No, not really. The 450 Kodiak will do pretty much everything the 700 Grizzly will do. Sometimes it is down on power and not quite as much clearance but it's not usually a problem. It won't wheelie though! lol
lol thanks for letting me know and thanks for responding, keep up the good work +cubbeezx
We are in North Western Ontario in Canada. We are lucky to have almost an endless area to ride in as it is crown land owned by the government.
It sure was a great time playing in the mud. We don't get to do it too often, but maybe that's a good thing because it was sure fun when we did!
Ummm, green light...I forget, it's either the shift indicator light or the diff lock light. The red light is for the led driving lights.
We have 2 older Arctic Cat Sleds, but never owned an AC ATV...nothing against them just the opportunity never came up I guess!
Glad you liked it Herbie. More videos to come but there might not be this kinda action in all of them unfortunately. lol
LOL, CK here....I guess it was my turn as I had just splashed Grassman, but boy did I get SOAKED! Thanks for watching.
Thanks Liquid..not our usualy scene, but was a lot of fun...getting too old for this kind of stuff though LOL
Yes, some of the trails we were on are used by mountain bikers. This is a very popular area for their rides.
many times if you get someone to sit on the back rack and someone on the front the tires will chew and crawl ya out with some rocking back and forth. just sayin'...
Yes, that last hole was nasty..after riding all day and then getting stuck that bad was nasty...SKEG!
Well, having said that....as far as I know that's not his real name. Now you have me wondering!
Yall needa go to Desoto national forest in strengthford mississippi! 5 foot deep mud hole everywhere! And about 5 miles of a trail
LOL, that would have gone on, and on and on and on....well you get the idea LOL
HAHAHAHA, now that's funny..and I think you might be right. Thanks for watching!
I am not sure, but I would think he will be out with us again at some point.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much! Unbelievable the damage from the wind.....crazy stuff!
Cool! Thanks for watching and commenting Rick, appreciate your support!!
AWESOME! Man it looked like fun! I was laughing the whole time at Ricky Bobby and the Grassman. I'll bet the cleanup effort on those quads was no fun though afterwards. I think this is the all time most mud ride you have ever done! lol The Big Bear impressed me at what it could handle since it had the least clearance of them all. Thanks for Sharing guys, your videos are always great!!!!
Excellent job of editing all your good clips together (as usual). Awesome footage! Is Ricky-Bobby his real name? If so, do people use that long handle or just call him Ricky? At the 14:30 mark, I found myself rocking back & forth in my chair to help the Grassman get the Big Bear out - LMAO! Looked like a tornado went through that one area; too many trees down, in too many directions, for a plow wind. You guys obviously had a great day (lots of laughing in that vid). Thanx for sharin'! Loved it!
We did consider it, but don't like that they then "own" your pictures
We had a few challenging spots, but also had fun playing in the mud!
Hey there! Thanks for the invite...i'll be sure to check it out!!
Good day to you too! Glad you enjoyed the video, it was a blast!
Thanks for the kinds words...please share with your friends LOL
Thanks, we had a blast, and it was worth getting them dirty LOL
Dang, get the kids near water & they start splashing each other !! HAHAHAHA !! Looks like this was an awesome trail ... that one section with the downed trees was amazing. The Grassman does good on the Big Bear too. WOW, over the front fenders on CK's bike ... COOL !! ... and then you hit the mud !! WOO HOO !! Dang, CK made it look easy !! That section at 24:50 does NOT look like fun !! THANKS for shar'in Guys !!
awesome vid man!!!!got my sub!!!! that was defintly a muddy trail LOL!!!!!
Thanks very much, we appreciate that! Yes, this had to be the muddies trail we have rode on....got stuck a lot!

abraços e parabéns pela edição muito show. sou do estado de Santa Catarina,Brasil.
LMAO! Too funny! I kinda' figured that's what was goin' on, but I didn't want to be insulting but saying, "Is that ACTUALLY his real name?"
If we kept riding like this, they would be nice for sure.
that looks so fun
Awesome looking ride you guys had there . that is a lot of editing you did between all the cameras it looked great . we enjoyed the video and thanks for taking us along for the ride ..
Glad to hear you enjoyed the vid. Thanks for watching!
Another great vid ,the best bit was grassmans full boot LOL ,been there so many times, thanks for 30 mins of fun,not long now till we start getting some decent mud.
Hey thanks for the input cubbee. The people at merkels also have a spike camp 40 miles away. The wife and myself are thinking of lining up a week of ridding up there in august. Ater all the exposer you give yamaha they should be giving you too a fresh set of bikes. Utube is changing the world and you are part of it
Sweeeet ride Cubbee!!! That was awesome fun!!! I was really surprised the Big Bear did so well, with the straight axels, and old tires! Also, it's not nice to try to drown a lady....but it was funny! My wife has the same laugh as CK, when she's ticked off, I call it her, "I'm gonna get you back", laugh!!! Lol!! Thanks for sharing, and bringing us along! Ride On!!
Nice job guys. You probably found mud in places where you forgot you had places lol. Looked like some great times. I was wondering if filming your rides ever take a little fun away from riding. It sure doesn't seem to. Can't wait to get my new wheeler and enjoy the rides again. Thanks for showing great videos.
great vid, not your usual...really enjoyed it. sounds like your wench cable just had slack in it. try free spooling it all the way out and then carefully wind it back in holding tension on it and feeding it across from side to side. i have to do it to mine from time to time.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video..we had a blast!
Oohhh that poor bugger on the solid axle machine .
hey cubbie, im really confused on how the locking front differential works. could you please make a video or something to help me out here!
one of the best videos! very well! has certainly made a lot of fun. I was today with some guys in the mud. the video coming in the next days ...
красивые места. но видео слишком длинное )
+ATVclubNorthWay Varangian We record our adventures and don't really want to cut them short. Also our videos end up on TV so they have to be a certain length.
+cubbeezx of course . Do as you wish. I liked the video. but I thought it was not enough Inergen and could make a shorter, but active. check out my video. I wonder how it looks from the outside - you do not know the Russian language)) thank you!)
+cubbeezx we compare 2014 and 2015, Yamaha and BRP. test. One guy we missing a leg - a prosthesis. In 2016 Yamaha
+ATVclubNorthWay Varangian Great to see everyone being able to get out and ride!
+cubbeezx your vids are on tv?
Hey cubbee/ck,...there's waaay too much fun being had there..lol
You got some great footage...poor ck got soaked LOL ...sorry ck i shouldn't laugh but it was funny to watch.
Another great vid, looking forward to next.......
Just the old 1986 one...oh and the 84 motorcycle.
Another great video. Yall do have a great time when yall ride. I caught myself ducking when yall were going under limbs and rocking back and forth when yall got in the mud. Always fun to ride with friends
That's what it's like around here...I usually ride alone and there is nothing to winch to...Scared of going down some trails because even My Jeep won't make it there for recovery
Hey! How do you like your zilla's? I'm thinking about getting them for my arctic cat 700! Just wondering what you thought about them! Thanks!! P.S I'm a huge fan! Keep making videos!!
That was wall worth the wait! not to mention some fine wiggling skills on Grass-man's part! You're gonna have to give another high five for that. lolz!! I love your videos!!!
Thanks! I am sure there will be more to come.
I think this is your best video to date. Im pretty sure I seen all of them but this is a cut above the rest. Great job. It looks so much fun. Keep them coming
I was doing the same thing as you on my birthday too lol we went in to a swampy marsh area and every one got stuck luckily one of us out of the 4 had a winch lol
Couldnt wait for this video to come out! When I saw the pics on facebook, omg! and here it is! Popcorn - check, half an hour of fun - check! YOU ROCK!
That was one badazz video. I know it sucks getting 'em dirty and then having to clean 'em, but once u hit the trail, none of that matters.... be well
This is in North Western Ontario in Canada.
Awesome video man, keep it up, got my subscription, you videos are amazing, getting my ATVs in august! *****
