Life too short for long RUclips videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
In this episode we are delighted to welcome back Joey Landreth - songwriter supreme, guitarist extraordinaire and human being of tremendous awesomeness. Joey first appeared on the show back in February 2017 - • That Pedal Show - Joey... - when we were introduced to his unique and utterly compelling style. He returned later that year to blow our minds with a show on harmonic tremolo - • That Pedal Show - Harm... - and again in August 2018 with the wonderful Kirk Fletcher - • Joey Landreth & Kirk F...
Why do we keep inviting Joey back? Simples: we are beyond proud to call him our friend and we love hanging out. We also think his insight, musicianship and all-round Canadianness is a good thing for the world, so we want to share it as much as possible.
In this show, Joey had just finished the European leg of his Hindsight tour, in support of his 2019 album release, Hindsight. Please go and buy it somewhere and/or go see him live!
For more on Joey, including upcoming tour dates please visit his site www.joeylandreth.com/

Love everything about this episode, guys - literally everything. From the awesome way Joey uses his pedals, to his truly inspiring playing, from the Grolsh-like strap lock to the bit Mick mentioned about being in the industry, touring, doing your own merch (would love to see a show on that, or at least hear your guests talk about it). You guys have a relationship with Joey that really makes the video feel good and no doubt could have turned into a 3-5 hour video! Really great stuff and no doubt I'll come back to watch this video again a few times more. Also good to see Joey using a CountTo5 and seeing how he used it/how it inspired him - I've owned this pedal for a few years now and love it, but don't get around to using it much these days. I’m a simple man. I see TPS and Joey Landreth, I watch.
Also, converting my guitar to drop C this weekend. Not for metal, but for slide. Compromise between open and standard. I love your music Joey. Your slides changed the game for me.

The abrupt cut to Mick saying "cool" after Joey says it's sad to leave was so unintentionally hilarious. Holy crap, I was laughing so hard.

I love when Joey says,”no one *nerds out like him...” Mick grins, and Dan has “You’ve met me!” all over his face.

I saw Joey and his band in Bristol recently, it was a brilliant evening. Thanks guys for introducing me to his music. It’s evident he’s a really friendly and engaging person as well as being an awesome musician. Hopefully his amazing slide style and technique will inspire new guitar players to pick up the instrument.

Wonderful and inspirational again guys. Great to remember it's not just about playing guitar, it's developing sounds and soundscapes, expressing yourself, really listening and enjoying sound, total immersion ... the music therapy we crave. Hats off to you both for finding a new direction that compliments all the knowledge you have already imparted to us all, for free. Any chance you could get Ed and Joey together next, is that the next level?
