POTs wise, I put VIPots in the second time round and measured the neck pup ones to be in the 490k range and the bridge pots to be in the 515kish range. If I recall correctly. *edited cause i had values backwards.
Joey’s guitar is next level. Great job and kudos for using P90s in a LP style guitar, a heavenly combo for sure. Amazed that they aren’t more popular/common than they are. Would love to check out more of your guitars, especially a double cut LP Jr style if one is in your line up.
fawbak. - you could email Sebastian, the owner of ViPots, and ask for a metered set? Or at least a duet Metered as low as possible. I purchased 30 or so (being a builder) and metered them all that way, but he may be willing to indulge you?
@@bigpapachance Never understood the buzz around Chris Whitley. Saw him twice at a large local fair; unremarkable. Joey, like Bonny, Sonny, Derek grabs you with the the first notes.
His note choices....they bring a feeling of hidden history. They sound time worn, but brand new. Maybe haunting is the word, or some kind of wonder. I can't find the word. Excellent.
I have never heard so many amazing and inspiring tones in a single TPS video! Just so you know, I've just gone and chucked all of my gear off my balcony Landreth, you toneful bastard!
Between the likes of Joey Landreth, Chis Buck and Josh Smith, we're so lucky to be around guys that are so generous with their talent and knowledge. It's unprecedented. Thank you TPS for the incredible content, as ever.
I was lucky enough to watch Joey play on my birthday this year, and the show blew me away. In regards to musicality, technical ability, and harmonic knowledge, there are very few people who can touch Joey. Such a likeable personality to top it off.
Man this show shows you guys in true form. Just three mates hanging out talking gear and crackin wise. Just what I like about your videos. Joey is a gem.
Joey down on the floor messing with the looper, Dan and Mick looking on like proud parents watching their child’s first steps with sheer contentment. So sweet!
Watched all three Joey Landreth shows today, what an awesome way to get through lockdown. There were tears, especially on some of his clean sounds. This is tone mecca and I am just a humble pilgrim starting out on the path.
I love rewatching this. It seems like Joey is always inspired by the sound he’s getting whether he’s playing with the tone controls to show how they sound or if he’s shredding with a fuzz on. What an inspiration.
Ah it's not just the tone either. It's ~music~. I sing classical music and we spend years perfecting the tone of our voices, and when it's right the music seems to flow on it's own. Joey is singing with his fingers.
The affection and respect these guys have for each other is absolutely contagious. And man... not only can Joey flat-out play, but his gear knowledge is ridiculous and his humility is so welcome. Just an amazing episode all around. Thanks, guys.
It is videos like this and people like you that make me happy to be alive. Joey is such a wonderful person and the chemistry you all have together is just beautiful. Thank you so so much for being you and doing what you do.
I’m a simple man. I see TPS and Joey Landreth, I watch. Also, converting my guitar to drop C this weekend. Not for metal, but for slide. Compromise between open and standard. I love your music Joey. Your slides changed the game for me.
Felt like I was in the room! Bunch of friends laughing and learning. Bravo fellas. As always thank you for helping me forget about my work week and absolutely loosing myself in the music. Take care ! All the best.
So human, the realities of touring and being tired, and needing to reconnect with inspiration. This is I wager the whole point of this show, and pedals in general...keeping it fresh, bringing the joy.
Watching Joey play is both invigorating and soul crushing at the same time. Invigorating because, let's face it - that guy is something else. Soul crushing because, let's face it - that guy REALLY is something else. Great episode, guys. I guess I need to practice some more, like a lifetime or two. lol
TPS is always inspiring for me, but when Joey is on, I'm doubly inspired. Great episode gents, thanks for having such a down to earth show. I wish Joey would have a show in Saskatchewan (Regina specifically), as I have physical issues and travel is extremely difficult, oh well, I can subsist on videos consumed in my Subterranean Lair. I don't have any specific questions, I just wanted you to know how much TPS means to me, and that a show with Joey is always welcomed. Cheers!
I keep coming back to this video to listen to that fuzz pedal and I always have to search where it is. So future me, hey, it's at 1:02:28 where it splitters.
Man, thanks to Joey for indulging us viewers again. He is to my mind the most melodic and truly musical player around. All focus on the song, and what serves the song. And man, oh man, are you guys lucky to be in the room with those tones. Just monster good. Great show!
First of all Joey is an absolute monster, a true master of every part of his instrument. Second, shout out to Simon for PHASING OUT the masking on the Two-Notes when he was using the expression pedal. Great touch!!
I was stoked and excited as soon as I saw this video come up in my feed. I get to watch during my breaks and lunch in Friday’s at work. Y’all make my Friday bearable at work. Thanks for another great videos guys!
thank you for having fun.sounds are great as were mick and dan's looks but the joy you guys have is worth a second watch.one day I wanna see you guys jam without the worry of the camera.
Man, I love being able to turn on your channel, and just feel at home. You guys are like good friends and fellow gear nerds, and it is awesome to be hanging with you and Joey on a Monday morning before work.
That first Octave slide sound was just otherworldly! Jesus Christ, had me laughing so much and I knew without even seeing Dan or Mick's faces that they'd be loving it! Amazing episode as always.
As well as his playing, I’d like to thank Joey Landreth for giving me hair confidence that I’ve been lacking for a very long time. I asked Dan the scissor man to make me look like Joey Landreth and for the first time in 25 years, I like my hair! So, thank you Joey!
Love everything about this episode, guys - literally everything. From the awesome way Joey uses his pedals, to his truly inspiring playing, from the Grolsh-like strap lock to the bit Mick mentioned about being in the industry, touring, doing your own merch (would love to see a show on that, or at least hear your guests talk about it). You guys have a relationship with Joey that really makes the video feel good and no doubt could have turned into a 3-5 hour video! Really great stuff and no doubt I'll come back to watch this video again a few times more. Also good to see Joey using a CountTo5 and seeing how he used it/how it inspired him - I've owned this pedal for a few years now and love it, but don't get around to using it much these days. Brilliant episode, thank you.
I wish people would close their eyes and soak in my playing the way Mick does when Joey plays. I guess I have to settle for cringing, but hey, that's an emotion too!
Joey what can I say you are a true master of the instrument. Live tone unbelievable in my opinion one of the very best guitar players I have ever seen 🎸if u have never seen him live make it your mission it should be on every players bucket list ! Jaw dropping 👊
Joey is silly and humble, the 2 greatest indicators of genius. I have Aspergers and have tested at genius I.Q. and played for 43 years and I am happily humbled. 🤘🏻
What an Hour of perfect Entertainment! But honestly Guys, when it comes to Joey Landreth it isn‘t a question of Guitars, Pedals and Amps, not of Tunings and Capos. This Gentleman is simply pure Emotion and Music. To me he is living Harmony. What a Musician he is. He can make me cry in 3 Seconds. He is so brilliant on his Instrument and eventough it is all about the Music, really Love what Joey is doing.

5 years later and I still come back to Joey’s episodes for inspiration
We do too 🥰
Joey is the kind of player who immediately makes you want to pick up a guitar and play something nowhere close to what he's doing.
I hear you...
And, unfortunately, I also hear me.
Reminiscent of Chris Whitley...
That’s because few can play anything close to the ridiculousness he lays down 😔
@@bigpapachance Never understood the buzz around Chris Whitley. Saw him twice at a large local fair; unremarkable. Joey, like Bonny, Sonny, Derek grabs you with the the first notes.
I think that Joey should become an honorary 3rd host of That Pedal Show.
"Not all heros wear capos" HAS to be a TPS tshirt!!!!
not all Heroes wear capes ... but we do!
A GPS shirt with a logo that looks like a cape on the back doesn't need to be an actual physical cape.
The look on Dan’s face whenever Joey plays anything is so pure I love it. Great episode👍🏼❤️
Unlike Miks )) he gets soo excited but doesnt follow thru, lol ))
11:10 Dan’s highly Suppressed instinct to giggle when Joey says “Sometimes I just want to wack away”. You get nothing past me.
Hahaha
Matthew Milantoni was looking thru the comments for this lmao got nothin past me neither
And Joey leaning forward to stare at him. Hilarious.
His note choices....they bring a feeling of hidden history. They sound time worn, but brand new. Maybe haunting is the word, or some kind of wonder. I can't find the word. Excellent.

This man’s playing is unreal. Every line is gushing with emotive power but it’s understated and perfectly tasteful.
when you mix in the two notes and the pedal gets brighter on video is the most satisfying thing I've ever seen on this show.
I edited this one. Mick here. Thank you!
Joey Landreth is effortless in a way that depresses me as a guitar player in a deeply profound way. What a talent.
Behind every veil of talent is a mountain of hard work and dedication
@@teaheadQ yup. No less depressing for me.
Joey playing though that Juno Chorus is the stuff of mythology. I've heard that tone in my head a million times. I'm awe-struck over here.
