      Sadly, I do agree. I think nuance is important in any narrative and any criticism of Farage will be stronger and more credible if it doesn't pretend he has no positive qualities. I hate so much of what he stands for and sometimes I dislike his behaviour to the point of hatred, but here he takes it all rather well. He has a certain irreverence even when it comes to himself that is, in isolation, likeable, although I don't consider him to be likeable overall.

There are other sides, to the tiresome Liberal Extremes of the MSM, who portray society on tv, which most of the public lap up, then adopt even the most degenerative ideas, as a consequence. Stephen Barry
      How do you include the SNP in that statement and not include UKIP?
      I don't support any of the current political parties except perhaps the Pirate Party who have no candidates where I live... BUT, I will be voting Labour at the next election because I believe in voting and where I live the only viable options are Labour or Tory. With Labour, there is the chance of an SNP coalition and the SNP have pledged to increase investment in the northeast where I live.
      A vote for UKIP would be suicide for my region... we get more investment from the EU than we do from our own government. The Tories have pledged 21m to be spent on new businesses to attract employment to be shared between three local authorities over 5 years... the UK government will only be supplying 6m of that money - that is 1.2m per year shared between three local authorities which combined has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country... the EU will be providing 7m - more than our own government!!! ...then the rest of the money is from cloud cuckoo land (anticipated private sector money generated from the new businesses they hope to attract). The region as a whole receives 500m per year in EU investment for various projects... I've heard no promises from UKIP that they will replace that money if we leave the EU... but Farage's promise to continue where Thatcher left off is enough for me to trust that UKIP don't care about the north... and if the Tories hold their referendum in 2017 on EU membership and the public decide to leave the EU... then will they replace the remaining 7m that the EU are providing for their 21m scheme? Will they replace the other EU funding that we get? I highly doubt it.
      The Greens meanwhile have pledged to scrap all infrastructure projects in the region. SO they've just gone and slit their own throats before the election. They were a viable alternative to the Tories and Labour with their promises to stop fracking... but now they're even worse than the Tories for my region.
      The EU is the only thing keeping my region afloat and a Scottish party that we can't vote for because we are in England has pledged more investment than any of the national parties. SO... yes, I am voting Labour in the hope of getting the SNP and staying put in the EU because that is the best option available for Northumberland. With a bit of luck, we will get a referendum on joining Scotland and then we can vote for the only party that has promised to invest serious money in Northumberland at the next election.

    All these comments about Farage being a good sport. What else was he supposed to do? The thing is with UKIP is that Britain can't survive without the EU. Without it, we lose a massive powerbase and also any financial support from it. The whole party is made out of sexist, racist and homophobic "politicians". Since when has someone's religion or ethnicity mattered? We're all human. People attack the presenter simply because he's made some very good points, like the one about gay men and gyms, that was priceless. UKIP's taxation policy wants to abolish inheritance tax but that means it'll cost £3bn a year. They also want to cut £77bn out of the public sector, meaning that schools, hospitals, policing, etc. will be even worse than before. Currently, Britain is in a very precarious state. Cameron and Osbourne have damaged the country to the point where education is based on grades and nothing else, the right are calling for first-generation muslims to be sent back to the Middle East and people on benefits are seen as "scum". UKIP can kiss my perfectly-rounded arse, they'll just make things worse.

      BobWaffleMan It is not just the indigenous Brits who support UKIP. It is the immigrants who have lived in the UK for years , The reason for this is because they are as frightened as the Brits that if we continue to flood this country with millions of poor immigrants , the country will eventually become the same third world and as poor as the countries they have already escaped from .
      A simple analogy is that you can only fit a certain amount of people into one house before the resources and space becomes unbearable to cope with , everybody suffers.and nobody benefits. If you are quoting Australia --yes its true that the Brit immigrants /convicts took the land off the Aborigine and that proves my point. Also look at the American Red Indian natives --They welcomed immigration , then they were pushed into reservations. We don't need all these people we want to retain our culture and identity . I haven't paid into the British public services to have them stretched and exploited by immigrants . I want the services for people whos ancestors have paid in for centuries .
      We should slam the door shut NOW!!!!!
      Nigel is the only man who has the huge testicles to stand up for Britain. I wish I had his scrotum. He is constantly attacked by those shithead liberals and lefties the same ones who damaged our country.

    • @alisilcox6036
      @alisilcox6036 9 лет назад +1

      That's not true. UKIP gets minimal amounts of votes in areas with large immigrant populations, even naturalised ones. The only areas that vote UKIP are far removed from areas with large minority populations. That is because ignorance breeds prejudice, so no wonder UKIP gets votes from areas ignorant of immigrant communities.
      If you disagree I'll get the Yougov polls for high UKIP support constituencies.

    • @johnwalton3805
      @johnwalton3805 9 лет назад +1

      Ali Silcox UKIP might get more votes from low immigrant areas because the people who live there do not want their already nice clean areas to turn into slums and third world run down shitholes , like Leeds Coventry and Birmingham who have high immigrant populations . People who come from countries like Somalia and Iraq are used to living in squalor and bring those same poor standards to Britain. We do not want any more third world filthy people scumming up Britain any further . We want to maintain nice clean British standards and culture . VOTE UKIP TO HELP SLAM THE DOOR SHUT NOW !!!!

    As far as the Romanians comment, doesn't sound like a smart thing to say, but that doesn't change the fact that any suggestion that people of different nationalities behave differently is seen as racist. In order to not be racist you have to pretend that where a person was born and raised has literally nothing to do with how they might be likely to behave.

    • @alisilcox6036

      Ali Silcox Funnily enough I never hear anyone being called racist for saying "Americans are all fat" or "German women never shave". As a pedantic aside, "race" is different from "nationality". A lot of people completely miss that.

    • @alisilcox6036
      @alisilcox6036 9 лет назад

      Alexander Milton That's true. You could make an argument for nationality meaning race, ie not Anglo-Saxon though. That argument happened in the US in the early 19th century, and I'd say that was a racist one... It was italians, poles and Jews victimised there.
      Still, I don't think UKIP is a racist party per se, but you can't deny farage says some pretty prejudiced things sometimes.
