great tutorial. the written instructions are terrible compared to this video. A few tips that may help others. #1 - the two large panels front and rear weren't necessary "for me" to pull off. (as seen @ 1:05 to 1:15) the rear panel closest to the bumper can be popped up from the left side only to allow the module insertion behind the side panel. #2 - the phillips screw shown @ 1:46 strips easily make sure you use the right bit and be careful. #3 - the module has two sided tape and I found a flat spot to mount it just below the grounding point on the panel side interior as the outter sheet metal is insulated with bedding #4 - the zip ties that come with the kit are too short and if you are OCD like me use some longer zip ties to be sure all the wires are buttoned up under the bumper. #5 check the fuse protecting the module in the rear; mine wasn't completeley seated. #6 if you don't have a tester or trailer, you can use a digital multimeter to see if you're at least getting voltage. The male on the end is ground and the other three femal prongs are brake and turn signals. You should be getting 12v-14v depending on if your engine is started when doing the test. I'm renting a Uhaul in a couple of weeks so I'm sure we'll test it out again before getting on the road. good luck!

No need to rip the trim apart. Just feel around for the connector

The trim is designed to come off. As long as your careful and take your time, you wont damage anything and it is much faster and easier to kook up the wiring. But everyone has their own preference!

These instructions end with adding two 20 amp fuses on position 3 and 11 inside the engine compartment and my kit does not include these fuses or the instructions for this step, it has a 10 amp fuse that is added into the converter harness in the truck (part I just added). Does this server the same purpose and or does this kit have some older or new configuration than this video? My vehicle is a 2021 Honda pilot and the kit which I got from U Haul (custom wiring 56291) only specifies the brand and model not year it’s for.

Great question. This video uses the Tekonsha wiring kit rather than the Curt wiring kit which you have. This does serve the same purpose so your kit will work fine without those extra fuses.

...Next we just need to remove the steering wheel and rotate all the tires.

The tie down latch was on there so tight I stripped the screw. That's ok I just drilled it out and will get a screw that is not attached with crazy glue lol. I ordered the wiring harness that handles both the four and 7 pin. Of course the round seven pin was too large for the grommet hole so I had to cut it and will need to shrink wrap the wires back on. It would have been much better if there was a connector to separate so it could go in the hole. Also had to cut through my existing grommet (no grommet included) in order to seal the whole. This was a good guideline but definitely not all the steps needed to get this done. BTW I have a 2021 Honda Pilot SE.
